I'm going to be drawing this baguette reference from the #foodpaintchallenge and sharing some tips and tricks that I've learned while using this beautiful, soft, vibrant medium and I'll also show you how you can combine Pan Pastels with Coloured Pencils for your final details!

I just love how this painting turned out, unfortunately I'm not able to purchase pan pastels due to my health issues. I could only live vicariously through artists, watching their RUclips videos!🙄

Thanks Amber. Really interesting pointers for me to take away. Tempted to get the 3 primaries (CMY) because I’ve only got the grey set. Have you tried Derwent Coloursoft pencils either on this paper or on top of pan pastels? I’ve used them on this paper,and because they’re so soft they feel like pastels…was wondering if they’re easier to sit on top of the pans. Anyway, despite the spray fail, I like the painting, and I love the colour of paper too. Thanks so much. ❤

The CMY palette with pan pastels would be great I think! I haven’t actually got any Derwent Coloursoft pencils I don’t think 🤔 maybe the skin tone set of 6 somewhere! So no I haven’t tried them but I will! I think it’s just this particular paper.. I’m not keen at all 😅 I’m glad you enjoyed it H thank you 😘x
