One question... where were you able to find a Powercore 2 that fits the 1989-1990 subframe mounting points? I had to custom mount a Powecore 2 that was meant for a 1991-2001 style subframe because I could only find Powercore 1’s for the 1989-1990 models only.

@@judaslicciardello3946 Oh man, I think I know what they did on their website. They still have the Powercore 1 as the picture, but the actual part they ship is the Powercore 2. Damn it Motosport! 🤦‍♂️

Having the same issue I have a 1990 cr500 and want the power core 2 but the picture is the power core 1 don’t wanna order it and it be wrong how was modifying the subframe the make the power core 2 work

@@jgeorge4389 When I modified my powercore 2, I ended up cutting off the mount on the silencer that is the closest to the airbox and used the mount that is closer to the rear fender and it's still held on very strong. I had to take my time with a torch to heat up and carefully bend the exhaust tube nicely to get the mount to line up with the subframe without any tension but it wasn't too hard to do, it just took some time to get it right where I wanted it. I still screwed in the second bolt into the empty mount on the subframe just to keep the thread from getting dirty and rusty. My recent video shows what it looks like. The end result looks pretty nice in my opinion. The best part about it is that I only had to modify the silencer so the frame is actually untouched and I didn't even have to use a welder. If I had a TIG welder setup (which I might get one soon), I would keep the mount that I cut off and reweld it to where it lines up.

ther aluminum extensions welded into a stock swing arm ... gota find a fab shop near you .. newer bikes ucan just order them but older stuff is hard to find .. if i had to do again i would mayb just buy two of the same swing arm and have a good welder hook u up .. then u can deff use stock axle and chain tensioners
