The subject matter I chose is a Koi fish, a beautiful and deceptively difficult subject to draw correctly. I've been trying to find a Koi fish design that really looks more realistic AND how to draw it myself. When I watched your video I realized how BAD the other Koi fish tattoos and drawings I've seen actually look! Those scales!! Really great tutorial! My first try was actually not bad at all and I didn't mind showing friends what I had done. Well done video and THANK YOU for some great lessons!!

I know people have already mentioned this, but this is the best video for drawing scales. For dragons, I am assuming that it is the same process, but on a more complex body structure.

@@Fallen5321 honestly, it just takes time and repetition to get it right, but looking at a lot of reference pictures of animals and faces can help to teach you to view and copy scale and dimention

Does the koi fish head box thing need to be in perspective like do the lines need to converge somewhere? Would be good if u could show how to keep the koi in perspective / follow perspective
Little hard to explain but yes? Haha its just a 3d box shape to help with the head. Eventually its not needed and the shape of the head can be modified to suit many styles. Just a good way to start for people maybe having trouble with the shapes

I noticed that you are fairly new., I haven't really checked but in time have you thought about coming out with a specific drawing tool that only you have identified that in one way or another - it could be a tool an ideal paint, a book based on drawing, even a tech tool that (this requires more thought) but yes, and as far as your vides, a video of today we will upload your designs online. - a business course depending on your type of research - what outlets to sell from - what social media garnish more views and exposure, Deviantart etc etc etc. even the design - graphic design websites, like dribble, Behance etc. And then eventually videos of today we will animate this drawing this one drawing let's make a short motion animation etc as an addon to give your buyer what it would feel/look like if it were to be alive. Think motion design - work I somewhat different I don't know. A book of coloring relaxation techniques amongst other things. You probably can do so much more from what I have mentioned but yes, have you thought about it? and if so DO IT!

What pencil do you use at this video?
Hi Ivan! Just a standard led pencil. The coloured pencils are prismacolor but any pencil will work 👍🏼
