Taking my daughter to see these dudes in August in Detroit. I introduced her to them after checking out Tim Henson's virtuosity on RUclips. She fell head over heels for them, especially Tim. Lol.
Same. I just bought a guitar again trying to get back into it then I wondered why, because I couldn’t think of anything I needed or wanted to learn to become a better player. Then I heard THIS shit. Lmao.
It gets old very quickly though since it all sounds the same unfortunately. I felt the same way loooved them, then about 2 weeks later I just didn't feel it. all amazing musicians and everything but man a little diversity would have been nice.
I felt the same way. Was thoroughly impressed at first, but it does get old fast. It feels almost TOO technical, as if it's missing personality, soul, or style. As if I can predict every sound that is going to come next because it is SUPPOSED to come next. (Maybe that is its own style) And no, I don't just say that because they're instrumental, I listen to a lot of instrumental bands. To me, what I hear reminds me as if it was all input into a computer and played-back and recorded. (Idk how they recorded it). Either way, it definitely sounds pretty.
NZO MV I think I can say the same. This album reminds me of Angel Vivaldi, and Divinex, too. This kind of music doesn't really get "old" to me after listening to it for a while, either. Sometimes, you can just listen to instrumental tracks like this, and just imagine what the lyrics would be by the tone of the song.
Polyphia is the kind of band that you love when Listening for the first time, they get old because the repetition, and you come back to listen again after some time, in my case it was after a year
dork [dôrk] NOUN informal a dull, slow-witted, or socially inept person. N. AMER. vulgar slang the penis. I don't think that you are either of those two since you like this album!!!
At first I wasn't feeling it, it was sounding all alike. Then bittersweet came on, and the rest of the album from there became a magical experience. Thanks Polyphia!
+David Ysasi They posted the whole thing themselves so not sure why they would mind, especially since you have a link to buy it. I bought it already but I am still at the stage of thinking it all sounds the same, but I agree Bittersweet is the best song so far.
+istillsuckatguitar Most of their albums sound like that, they keep the same effects/tuning & if the notes/riffs are at all similar it WILL sound the same. But their sound HAS changed album-to-album. Favorite track would be Nightmare, though. Special thanks to the uploader for putting the entire album together, times and all!
Yo i was just thinking of Sonic the Hedgehog or other fighting games on the ps1 days i used to play and I'm glad im not the only one. This shit is so refreshing yet it reminds me of the old days
Freaking WOAH. I found this album yesterday and listened to it four or five times in a row while working. I used to listen to prog metal a lot and was curious how it had evolved, and this is a nice discovery!
Wdym RTYWD is far better than this album(not saying this album is bad I absolutely love it especially paradise), and I do admire ur opinion bc everyone has their own taste like personally I found NLND best. But the reason I say RTYWD is better is bc of its vast variety of styles and genres in literally every song, it felt more like a more experimental album than all of the other albums. Some people (like u) find a specific album of theirs that just matches ur taste amazingly which is completely understandable, but if u take into accountability just the raw quality and ideas and work put into the albums RTYWD is undoubtedly the best.
Been playing for nearly 20yrs, only just discovered these guys last June - although I liked the percussion and melodies, I honestly didn't really like the vibe because I thought it just sounded ridiculously over produced ...then I saw them play live and was like _"ohhh shit! They_ *really* _play like that?!"_ I honestly didn't even know you _could_ do some of the stuff I've seen/heard them do.. sure, finger picking, pinch harmonics, bending, hammer-on's/off's etc, we know them well - but _every_ technique possible and a bunch of invented ones thrown in too; and all within like half a bar of music?! Seeing them play live was really a Matrix level *"he is the one!"* moment
Renaissance, Grow, The Shape of Colour, Set Course for Andromeda, and Handmade Cities. Polyphia, CHON, Intervals, Sithu Aye, and Plini accordingly. It's now The Divine 5.
Wow these guys are on another level, their playing and songs sound like everything i love about music and guitar put together yet they also sound like nothing else! I discovered this band while looking for new Dimarzio pickups for my guitar, as someone who loves Dimarizo i know their catalog pretty much so I was looking for pickups that I didn't use or hear about before. I didn't go for their pickups as they're not what i was looking for but i discovered an amazing band instead!
I live in Eugene so I can't really speak for living in Portland if you have liberal leanings, like strange things like people riding unicycles while wearing a Darth Vader mask and playing a flaming bagpipe (This a real thing, they call him the unipiper) and craft beer you'd probably like it there. There's a problem with homelessness and drugs in the state overall but I can't think of any other state I'd rather live in.
This is it! This is exactly what I need! No words, just the sound and the feeling of the music, the potent impression of expression shattering the walls of reality around me, allowing me to see the visions of my imagination clearly, colorfully and fluidly! This is the inspiration I've been looking for and it's more beautiful than I'd ever imagined!!
its sooooo amazing to watch how these kids at the have progressed! over time there all extremely individually talented and there's no one that can even compete with their instrumentals!!!!! 🤘🤘
Ivory, Armour, Death Note, G.O.A.T., O.D., Light, Nightmare, Storm, Bittersweet, Symmetry, Euphoria, & Classical Dragons are all sooooo insanely good. I just found these guys very recently & they immediately turned into my favorite band with only a few listens. Anyone that likes this music & hasn’t heard all these songs that I listed, you’re going to want to go ahead & listen to them all right this second, & you are welcome 🤗
I love all their albums but this is definitely their best. I love the vocal collabs and new stuff etc etc... but this is their best batch of riffs and songs in my opinion.
I've always had a specific sound I've wanted to create with metal but could never get anyone to understand what I was after so I never could get anyone to write write the songs with me. Well along came this band and nailed exactly what I was looking for. Thank you guys so much for this awesome sound. finally the sounds in my head have been put a fret board. I hope you guys continue on playing and wish you the best.
This album gets sweeter and sweeter every time you listen to it. A lot of albums are like that, but that's because you understand the meaning behind each song more each time. It's a different ride everytime through these songs, though. Also goes well with marihuana
I know Polyphia. I’ve Seen them Twice. Ea. Time was Incredible. I didn’t know of this Album but I certainly enjoy the Shit out of it. I’m a Thru n Thru Fan for LIFE. Thank you Tim Henson and the Members of Polyphia you’ve made something Incredibly Soothing to ANYONE Who Listens. God Bless. Newer Stuff. Like Playing GOD is at the top of my List.
Right from the very first minute I heard this album, I was in love. Now I can't stop listening to it. This is such a refreshing change of pace from my usual. Such an amazing group. I'm going to see them live tomorrow and can't fucking wait.
Ive been listening to Polyphia sonce I discovered this album, and while I do enjoy their new music, I always come back to this album. Bums me out it isnt available on Pandora to listen to.
I was expecting this albub to be a bit wanky before I played it, but now two plays in and after replaying a few songs I'm glad to say I was dead wrong. It's impressive how mature it sounds, the different tones and harmonies Polyphia produce, and just how damn catchy and entertaining a lot of this album is.
This is so damn addicting I just couldn’t stop listening, I love both their old AND new music. I fell even more in love after seeing them for the first time few days ago in New York 😍❤️ it’s a experience to remember
I actually didn't really like them _until_ I saw them live - I thought they sounded *way* too overproduced, like every song was entirely written on a DAW Then I saw them live and they honestly blew me away.. had no idea you _could_ play the way they do!
The ending from "Ivory" sounds like the ending from "Transcend" on their "Inspire EP". But to listen closely I hear all sorts of Inspire throughout Renaissance. Then imagining Brandon back as the drummer, basically just listening to the guitar/bass while imagining other drum tracks in my head. It sounds so good.
I don't know how but I accidentally listened to this entire album with the RUclips speed setting at 1.25x. Blew my mind and was fucking fantastic but didn't realize it until it was over and went to replay for the second time after refresh. No regrets. Would recommend 10/10
some kids today gives me hope on human kind in many forms i was very doubtful. This album is PURE ART. Everything i lov from eletronic, prog, metal, 80s, jazz. Congratz Polyphia we are waiting on you guys in Brazil, spreading your music among friends like a virus but as a cure.

@Crebs Park it has a shit ton of metal influence, thats why he said it sounds like it.
@Crebs Park its progressive rock/metal
@Crebs Park It's Prog metal...
WHAT KIND OF FOOL CAN DISLIKE AN ALBUM LIKE THIS!!! THEY ARE THE MOST SKILLFUL AND TALENTED TEENAGERS I EVER HEARD!!
This album inspired me to start playing guitar again. Incredibly underrated album.
Same. I just bought a guitar again trying to get back into it then I wondered why, because I couldn’t think of anything I needed or wanted to learn to become a better player. Then I heard THIS shit. Lmao.

I was so stressed and my brother told me to listen to this. omfg this is so beautiful. hallelujah I found my new favorite band
Way better than I expected from Polyphia. Totally blown away by this album.
I underestimated Polyphia, but they killed in this album! this album blew my mind :3
this album made me blow a load
Polyphia's talent has really shown in previous albums, as well as this one. Totally well rounded band!
not sure what you mean by this considering their album "Muse" is way better than this

Found this a couple of weeks ago and its very addictive. Im from the 80's when Becker and Friedman were popular. I love how instrumental evolved.
At first I wasn't feeling it, it was sounding all alike. Then bittersweet came on, and the rest of the album from there became a magical experience. Thanks Polyphia!
+Anthony Michael and the guy that uploaded it... ;-) just saying...
+Elias Garcia Hernández Oh well yeah that goes without saying. I just hope Polyphia doesn't mind his leak.
+Anthony Michael @Elias No need to thank me. And it's totally understandable if this gets taken down lol. Hope y'all enjoy!

Sounds like those Jazz Rock Soundtracks for early 2000's beat em ups like Capcom vs SNK, I like it.

Yeah Nightmare gives me Hill Top Zone vibes mixed with Streets of Rage.
Marcel El Assadi I thought it sounded kinda game like too and honestly haven't heard them much until now.
Japanese romanticism
was listening to Earthside - A dream in static , then clicked on this suggestion, then got Hard. Simply priceless music.

7 years passed and this is still their best album. absolutely peak Polyphia
I agree!
i'm right there with you bud
Al of their music is great but I always come back to Renaissance and listen to it all the way through a few times a year.
From start to finish this album is so well put together. This is Polyphia at their best
Sadly, still holds true even with RTYWD out today :(
Wdym RTYWD is far better than this album(not saying this album is bad I absolutely love it especially paradise), and I do admire ur opinion bc everyone has their own taste like personally I found NLND best. The _feels_ that this albums conveys, it's fuckin mindblowing .
These songs let you associate them with a mood, or emotion.
This is beyond my favorite thing about this genre. A lot of the times there is so much room for interpretation you can make it take it however
