  • Cedar Ridge Park is a very nice park that sits on a small bluff in a protected cove on the east side of Lake Belton. The park has two campground areas with 68 with water and electric and 8 screened shelters.
The park is easy to get to, all the roads are paved and it's easy to maneuver the big rigs. None of the sites are directly on the water but its a short two minute downhill walk to the shoreline for swimming or fishing.
Access to the park as well as each of the camping areas is gated. The terrain is gently rolling and covered with mesquite trees and plenty of deer. Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir on the Leon River in the Brazos River basin, 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Belton, Texas, United States. The lake extends into both Bell County and Coryell County.
Belton Dam and the lake are both managed by the Fort Worth District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The reservoir was officially impounded in 1954, and serves to provide flood control and drinking water for Belton, Temple, and the surrounding communities. Belton Lake is a popular recreational destination.
In the fall of 2018 Lake Belton was host to the annual “Lonestar Throwdown” kayak fishing tournament. Teams from the North, South, Central, and West Texas regions battled it out for bragging rights and ultimately North Texas took home the coveted trophy.
Belton Lake overflowed the spillway in 1991-1992 with the occurrence of two closely spaced 50 year floods. The area immediately below the spillway was heavily damaged by the floods.
It was rebuilt and reconstituted as the Miller Springs Nature Center on October 26, 1993. It is run by the Miller Springs Alliance, a non profit group of volunteers and has nearly 11 miles of hiking and biking trails passing through upland, prairie, canyon and riparian habitats.

Hi Old Goat, Thanks for the informative video!! Hey, can you let me know if the group site can really hold 10 rvs (with water and electric) as well as 20 tent campers? There's a bunch of us that like to camp together and that would be excellent.

the turkey roost area is located within Cedar Ridge Park near the screen shelter loop. This facility offers six single and two double campsites with water and 50 amp electrical hook-ups, a waterborne restroom with showers, and a 32 X 50 pavilion. This area is segregated from the other campers in the park. Turkey roost can have up to 10 travel trailers or RV's and/or up to 20 tents may occupy this area. So sorry it took so long to reply, hope that helps.
