Animals eat what they can only eat. Carnivores can't be changed to herbivores. It goes against the order of nature and the animal will face consequences for that. Cats domesticated themselves, because after humans figured out agriculture, all our harvested grains lying around attracted rats, and cats seen the plentiful food supply and nice warm houses as a win-win, they were just like "I guess I'll stay with this dirty ass hairless ape, because of all the food they attract even though they talk all high pitched and weird when they see me."

Like rescue cats some of them are very loving because they haven’t had good homes in the past so when they finally get one they’re like really affectionate towards their owner and they love their owner not the food the food is just a plus.
Reminds me of my former cat (may be RIP). He was born outside and somehow found me as a tiny skinny kitten all scared and cold. He absolutely hated the outdoors. One day my former roommate left the door ajar and the wind blew it wide open for several hours while I was at work. The kitty was still inside when I got home lol. He wasn't having any of that outdoor stuff.
Reminds me of this "vegan" dog that went on good morning Britain a few years back. Their owner told the news crew that, if given the choice, their dog would always go for the veg. So the news crew got out a bowl of veg and a bowl of meat and the dog got to choose. The dog chose meat.

so i'm a veterinarian and wanted to say most veggies cannot be consumed by cats without killing them or making them incredibly sick. a cat requires a primarily meat diet. i feed my cat grain-free cat food and once offered her a watermelon slice to which she sniffed and didn't even bother licking.

Dogs pretty much did the same. It started out with sticking around humans because we generated a lot of trash that was an easy meal, and over time the ones that were friendly to humans were more likely to survive so they became domesticated.

If you want a pet, that is actually vegan, you can always have a pair of guinea pigs, or more. They eat veggies and hay, it's not a big deal. I had them in the past, and now I own a dog and a cat, they eat meat all the time.
I believe it's because they felt they achieve something like after making the animal be vegan, they will make people awe and get praises. Or they cover up their neglection by not feeding them the food these animals are supposed to eat, but just give them anything because they put no effort.

Almost 2 years ago, we took in a higher content wolfdog. His owner was living in an apartment in the OC. Wolfdogs eat a largely raw meat diet. When we tried to feed him, he didn't know what the meat was! He would sniff all around the meat and eat all the veggies off the plate. I asked his owner what his diet was previously...she informed me that he was "raised vegan" and ate mostlt rice, pumpkin and veggies. It took over 6 months for him to be comfortable with eating raw meat. He ended up dying of Addison's Disease at the age of 2 and always had digestive issues.

My aunt is vegan and she has 2 cats. She only feeds them meat and sometimes kibble. She would never feed them veggies because that would be cruel to them and that would defeat the purpose of being vegan. It's no different to if they were wild.
I mean, it's ok to feed your cats some veggies. I feed my cats some spinach and catgrass that I grow in the garden, and they love it. But yes, cats should eat meat as their main diet. My cats only eat the veggies when they want to.

If you find yourself in a moral issue of feeding a carnivore pet, adopt the pet out to someone who will have no problem feeding them what they need and adopt a naturally vegan pet if you want pets. Not possible, likely. Most fish eat other fish as their staple diet. They have even found fossilized skeletons of a fish within a fish, within another fish. People like that always project their own fantasies onto animals thinking the life cycle is some unnatural thing. Animals kill; for food, competition and fun. Plants kill too. Like vine plants, oak trees, pitcher plants, etc. Murder hornets kill entire swarms of bees, and certain insects do cruel things that give me nightmares. Do humans do cruel things? Yes. Should we do better since we can? Yes. Are we the only thing that is "cruel"? No. Should we hate or force our ways upon the rest of the world just because it bothers us? No, and a person should go find something more meaningful in life to do if they actually waste their time and energy on something that is both normal, and frankly beneficial, to the planet.

If a fish catcher harms the fish and puts them in pain then it's immoral to buy from them if you know they do it. Technically, cats are obligate carnivores so must eat meat to survive but dogs are not. While not recommended, a dog can live off a vegan diet, as long as they have the correct nutrition in their food. Likely, that woman's dog is being forced on a vegan diet.
It's kinda sad what might be happening to the dog if it doesn't meet its nutrients and proteins but I guess there are plenty crazy people in this world. My dog was adopted after living with a foster home with vegans. She was very skinny when we got her. I gave her lots of meat and cheese and treats to fatten her up.

As a vegan who recently adopted two kitties (never had cats or dogs before) from a shelter- I looked up dietary needs and the very few „studies“ for vegan based diets do not involve cats nor do they make a good case regarding long term effects and such- so I do not force my lifestyle choice on my pets 😅 they eat wet food (without veg or grains) and raw organs/ meat from time to time and they are perfectly happy and healthy that way :D just like I am on my vegan diet- different species different nutritional needs, this should be a no brainer

A neighbor of mine got a dog from a family who had her on a vegetarian diet. The poor thing was skin and bone! She looks so much healthier now that she’s on a proper diet with meat.
I decideed to be passive aggressive towards my cat today . He is making me watch ur videos constantly otherwise that show invincible or whatever. I made sure to play this while he was eating today as I was heading out for work to let him know he better value the fish on his cat food package because that fish wanted to live. Jesus even feed people fish and helped them catch tons of fish. He definitely was not vegan. Infact, in the Bible, theres a lot of meat eating. Even God didn't like Cain's offering of vegetables, he liked Abel's of meat so that tells you everything.
My dog does actually enjoy vegetables. Her favorites are whatever I offer her directly from my hand... She usually gets some kind of veggie with her dinner that consists of a bowl full of meat. Sometimes she will eat the veggie first (she's a fiend for bell peppers) but it's pretty clear that chicken, duck, or turkey bones (uncooked) are her favorite part of dinner followed closely by red muscle meat.

But they can't live on only vegetables for more than a few weeks or it will start to have a detrimental effect. In the wild they mainly eat berries and vegetables to extend periods between hunts. Dogs don't eat grains in the wild but some of their prey do, and they then consume their stomach content. A small amount of greens can be beneficial but that is usually already included in regular dry dogfood. Generally you don't need to worry about feeding your dog anything but meat, but you can.

The first dog we adopted when my husband and I married was sadly on a vegetarian diet for a long time. He began having food allergies when he was close to a year old, so we had to try various foods with only two ingredients in the kibble (lamb and rice, venison and sweet potato, etc) but he was still having an allergic reaction and his hair was falling out. We had to feed him vegetarian kibble to see if that would help and it did, his hair grew back in and he was fine. But after a few years, he wasn’t digging the food anymore, so we started slowly introducing the meats back into his diet and he was fine. He just outgrew the allergy I guess. And this was all monitored by a vet, this want something we did on our own. We were baffled, to be honest. The dogs we have now get kibble that’s grain free and moist fix that’s meat and veggies. The cats get kibble because neither of them like moist food much, but I do get them a special fancy one for Christmas that has meat and veggies. I always try to incorporate both and none of the pets seem to mind the veggies as long as there’s some sort of meat juice on them. Except my one corgi… He’ll eat veggies because he likes them. If I’m making salad, I have to toss him lettuce and baby spinach. He eats cooked carrots off your fork. He even likes apple slices. Then again, he eats poop, so he doesn’t have a discerning palate 😂

We had a dog that was terribly allergic to grains or even meat from animal's fed grains. It was so bad that she was bleeding internally. She was put on steroids which was fantastic (sarcasm), as she was a traumatized collie mix from the shelter and was a bit nuts. That was a joy to solve and live with. We had to find food made from wild fish and peas. Otherwise she had to eat the same food as we did.
People should get permission to have pets or kids or anything these days, the same as driver's licenses some people shouldn't be allowed to have pets unless they pass an exam
I agree. Thankfully a lot of adoption shelters are getting more and more strict with who they let adopt pets (like turning away people that want to declaw cats upon asking if it’s something they plan to do to the animal when it comes to the questions on forms - well, at least the shelters that aren’t all about churning out animals to anyone and everyone will). I also think that we also need to also do away with breeders. They attract the worst types of pet owners as a whole anyways. We’ve got enough animals in shelters in desperate need of a good home that will be just as loyal and loving, yet people would rather go out and pay hundreds of dollars to have a “special” pet that looks or behaves a certain way for the “aesthetics” - like treating an animal like an accessory for status as opposed to wanting to genuinely own and take care of a pet. Yes, it’s important to understand different breeds and their behaviors that are naturally bred in them, and it’s crucial to make sure the right breed is going with the right type of person that can properly take care of them as well as the environment that they will be in … but the shelters are overrun with so many breeds that we simply do not need to be churning out more constantly. Take a stroll in a local shelter and look at all the various breeds of animals that have been abandoned or taken from horrible homes. We don’t need more that will just end up there. Instead, people need to start going for the ones we already have in there that are in desperate need of care and attention.
Pets simply need adequate nutrition and the nutrients animals need can all be found in plants, if it's fed to them in a digestible form there's no problem with it. We have commercially sold vegan pet feed, it's possible and been done.
Tortoises, Parrots, rabbits, guinea pigs, canaries, hamsters, iguanas and a shit ton of other lizards A lot of herbivorous pets, but nope, vegans specifically choose dogs and cats, which are mostly carnivorous
I'm a vegetarian. I have a cat and two dogs. Cats are carnivorous. Yes they will eat grass to help purging their stomach but they NEED meat to function. Dogs are more omnivorous bc they adaptated to human company/eating habits for so long. My kitty only eats M E A T. My dogs are eating M E A T *and* some rice/pastas or veggies/fruits (mixed with M E A T) sometimes. Like, my female dog loves pears and apples and my male dog used to chew on carrots like a bone when he was a baby lmao 😂 But their diet is mostly meat-based. Don't force your beliefs on anyone/anything, especially when it comes to actual HEALTH ISSUES and PHYSIOLOGY. Like, my bf is mostly veggie like me, but I know that he *needs* some fish/meat sometimes and more red meat during the winter months to function properly lol. Let's call him a ~flexitarian~ then. I can totally function out of eggs, dairy and lentils most of the year but he just *cannot*. Pets need veggies but just like humans they need meat and other proteins like what 😂 My dog eats, kibble, my leftover cuts from the meat when I cook, drops from when I cook, found out she LOVES bell pepper. She’s healthy for her age and VERY happy
One of my friends became a vegan and made her cat go vegan and he died 😢 I told her myself thats messed up he went from being fat and fluffy to skin and bones. Hopefully she learned her lesson. But idk she barely talks to me now because I eat meat and she says I'm brainwashed. She's always posting videos of animals being killed trying to pressure me to be vegan with her.

My cat fry loves to eat lettuce too! He also is an expert hunter and with toy and play with whatever poor bug or mouse he finds before he eats it! One time he swallowed a mouse whole and i got a nice "thats definitely not a hair ball" surprise in my kitchen first thing in the morning! I almost stepped right on the poor slimy thing!
Mine will eat mice.... however only friskies Purina dry. Can food Salmon pate. Will eat a bloody mouse and a picky ass with food. Also if I croaked here my boy would be helping himself to my decaying body. Not vegan 😅

I never forced my dog to eat vegetables but she did eat vegetable based dry food cause the beef, chicken, and salmon flavored one's messed up her tummy. It was weird cause she ate plain chicken just fine.

Reminds me of my former cat (may be RIP). He was born outside and somehow found me as a tiny skinny kitten all scared and cold. He absolutely hated the outdoors. so i'm a veterinarian and wanted to say most veggies cannot be consumed by cats without killing them or making them incredibly sick. a cat requires a primarily meat diet. i feed my cat grain-free cat food and once offered her a watermelon slice to which she sniffed and didn't even bother licking.

Almost 2 years ago, we took in a higher content wolfdog. His owner was living in an apartment in the OC. Wolfdogs eat a largely raw meat diet. When we tried to feed him, he didn't know what the meat was! He would sniff all around the meat and eat all the veggies off the plate.
I asked his owner what his diet was previously...she informed me that he was "raised vegan" and ate mostlt rice, pumpkin and veggies. It took over 6 months for him to be comfortable with eating raw meat. He ended up dying of Addison's Disease at the age of 2 and always had digestive issues.
That is one evil person right there. I’m glad it wasn’t me asking her about the dog’s diet ‘cus I would’ve hit her. Thanks for helping that poor animal.

Technically, cats are obligate carnivores so must eat meat to survive but dogs are not. While not recommended, a dog can live off a vegan diet, as long as they have the correct nutrition in their food. Likely, that woman's dog is being forced on a vegan diet.

As a vegan who recently adopted two kitties (never had cats or dogs before) from a shelter- I looked up dietary needs and the very few „studies“ for vegan based diets do not involve cats nor do they make a good case regarding long term effects and such- so I do not force my lifestyle choice on my pets 😅 they eat wet food (without veg or grains) and raw organs/ meat from time to time and they are perfectly happy and healthy that way :D just like I am on my vegan diet- different species different nutritional needs, this should be a no brainer

A neighbor of mine got a dog from a family who had her on a vegetarian diet. The poor thing was skin and bone! She looks so much healthier now that she’s on a proper diet with meat.
I decideed to be passive aggressive towards my cat today . He is making me watch ur videos constantly otherwise that show invincible or whatever. My dog does actually enjoy vegetables. Her favorites are whatever I offer her directly from my hand... She usually gets some kind of veggie with her dinner that consists of a bowl full of meat. Sometimes she will eat the veggie first (she's a fiend for bell peppers) but it's pretty clear that chicken, duck, or turkey bones (uncooked) are her favorite part of dinner followed closely by red muscle meat.

But they can't live on only vegetables for more than a few weeks or it will start to have a detrimental effect. In the wild they mainly eat berries and vegetables to extend periods between hunts. Dogs don't eat grains in the wild but some of their prey do, and they then consume their stomach content. A small amount of greens can be beneficial but that is usually already included in regular dry dogfood. Generally you don't need to worry about feeding your dog anything but meat, but you can.
You shouldn't force your cats that are CARNIVORES to go vegan. Also, If anyone else was wondering THAT Vegan Teacher was in Italy because the cat food labeling was in Italian. I hope that helps ❤

The first dog we adopted when my husband and I married was sadly on a vegetarian diet for a long time. He began having food allergies when he was close to a year old, so we had to try various foods with only two ingredients in the kibble (lamb and rice, venison and sweet potato, etc) but he was still having an allergic reaction and his hair was falling out. We had to feed him vegetarian kibble to see if that would help and it did, his hair grew back in and he was fine. But after a few years, he wasn’t digging the food anymore, so we started slowly introducing the meats back into his diet and he was fine. He just outgrew the allergy I guess. And this was all monitored by a vet, this want something we did on our own. We were baffled, to be honest.
The dogs we have now get kibble that’s grain free and moist fix that’s meat and veggies. The cats get kibble because neither of them like moist food much, but I do get them a special fancy one for Christmas that has meat and veggies. I always try to incorporate both and none of the pets seem to mind the veggies as long as there’s some sort of meat juice on them. Except my one corgi… He’ll eat veggies because he likes them. If I’m making salad, I have to toss him lettuce and baby spinach. He eats cooked carrots off your fork. He even likes apple slices. Then again, he eats poop, so he doesn’t have a discerning palate 😂
See, THAT'S when you feed a dog a vegetarian kibble! It's so disgusting what they did to the dog. I'm happy you could help him outgrow an unhealthy allergy 🥰
We had a dog that was terribly allergic to grains or even meat from animal's fed grains. It was so bad that she was bleeding internally. She was put on steroids which was fantastic (sarcasm), as she was a traumatized collie mix from the shelter and was a bit nuts. That was a joy to solve and live with. We had to find food made from wild fish and peas. Otherwise she had to eat the same food as we did.

People should get permission to have pets or kids or anything these days, the same as driver's licenses some people shouldn't be allowed to have pets unless they pass an exam

I agree. Thankfully a lot of adoption shelters are getting more and more strict with who they let adopt pets (like turning away people that want to declaw cats upon asking if it’s something they plan to do to the animal when it comes to the questions on forms - well, at least the shelters that aren’t all about churning out animals to anyone and everyone will).
I also think that we also need to also do away with breeders. They attract the worst types of pet owners as a whole anyways.
We’ve got enough animals in shelters in desperate need of a good home that will be just as loyal and loving, yet people would rather go out and pay hundreds of dollars to have a “special” pet that looks or behaves a certain way for the “aesthetics” - like treating an animal like an accessory for status as opposed to wanting to genuinely own and take care of a pet.
Yes, it’s important to understand different breeds and their behaviors that are naturally bred in them, and it’s crucial to make sure the right breed is going with the right type of person that can properly take care of them as well as the environment that they will be in … but the shelters are overrun with so many breeds that we simply do not need to be churning out more constantly. Take a stroll in a local shelter and look at all the various breeds of animals that have been abandoned or taken from horrible homes. We don’t need more that will just end up there. Instead, people need to start going for the ones we already have in there that are in desperate need of care and attention.
Pets simply need adequate nutrition and the nutrients animals need can all be found in plants, if it's fed to them in a digestible form there's no problem with it. We have commercially sold vegan pet feed, it's possible and been done.
Tortoises, Parrots, rabbits, guinea pigs, canaries, hamsters, iguanas and a shit ton of other lizards
A lot of herbivorous pets, but nope, vegans specifically choose dogs and cats, which are mostly carnivorous

I'm a vegetarian. I have a cat and two dogs. Cats are carnivorous. Yes they will eat grass to help purging their stomach but they NEED meat to function. Dogs are more omnivorous bc they adaptated to human company/eating habits for so long. My kitty only eats M E A T. My dogs are eating M E A T *and* some rice/pastas or veggies/fruits (mixed with M E A T) sometimes. Like, my female dog loves pears and apples and my male dog used to chew on carrots like a bone when he was a baby lmao 😂
But their diet is mostly meat-based. Don't force your beliefs on anyone/anything, especially when it comes to actual HEALTH ISSUES and PHYSIOLOGY. Like, my bf is mostly veggie like me, but I know that he *needs* some fish/meat sometimes and more red meat during the winter months to function properly lol. Let's call him a ~flexitarian~ then.
I can totally function out of eggs, dairy and lentils most of the year but he just *cannot*.
When I'm feelinfg extra-tired I will eat a bit of fish (unhappy about it, but I learnt to accept it was necessary)

In my ideal world, I'd love for eat meaters to be able to buy good, real meat, made thanks to cattle that was well cared for, free in the meadows, loved a,nd respected during thir lives and well fed. I mostly hate the Big Meat Industry in general. But otherwise, I don't really really care, bc if you're poor af like my bf, he's forced to buy low-quality burgers... Bc good meat is effing pricey. I won't judge people who need meat to survive bc they can't afford Wagyu beef.

One of my friends became a vegan and made her cat go vegan and he died 😢 I told her myself thats messed up he went from being fat and fluffy to skin and bones. Hopefully she learned her lesson. But idk she barely talks to me now because I eat meat and she says I'm brainwashed. She's always posting videos of animals being killed trying to pressure me to be vegan with her.

My cat fry loves to eat lettuce too! He also is an expert hunter and with toy and play with whatever poor bug or mouse he finds before he eats it! One time he swallowed a mouse whole and i got a nice "thats definitely not a hair ball" surprise in my kitchen first thing in the morning! I almost stepped right on the poor slimy thing!

Mine will eat mice.... however only friskies Purina dry. Can food Salmon pate. Will eat a bloody mouse and a picky ass with food. Also if I croaked here my boy would be helping himself to my decaying body. Not vegan 😅

I never forced my dog to eat vegetables but she did eat vegetable based dry food cause the beef, chicken, and salmon flavored one's messed up her tummy. It was weird cause she ate plain chicken just fine.
Yes that was my old dog too!! I would never force my dog to be vegan like me because of my “morals”. She only got vegan dog food because of her stomach problems.
@@needtodelete4329 she was also very bougie too 😂 She had to have bottled water. I gave it to her one time cause I was too lazy to take it to the sink lol. If she saw it come from the faucet she wouldn't touch it. So I had to start putting the tap water in water bottles to pour into her bowl 😂
my mom used to force my dog to be vegan for the first 8 months we had her, through out those 8 months she was in and out of the vets with health problems until my mom started feeding her fish, chicken ect. 😭
I hope your dog is doing well now. I HATE people who force their dietary choices on other people, let alone their pets. Dude, if you so badly want your pet to be vegan, go freaking raise a cow or horse, I suppose. Stripping off an animal of its natural diet in the name of "stopping animal abuse" is quite literally animal abuse. Thank goodness your dog was put back on her actual diet.
