    I added a Sonalert to mine that beeps when static is detected. It's a nice feature to have if you want to plant several devices around a house.

    Should both resisters be wired to the jfet directly or with wires like in the diagram ?

    Could the miliamp meter be switched out with a led?

      Late response but yes. You might have to tweak some values, though
