This updated and upgraded version of the E-flite® Viper 70mm includes a higher performance power system, Smart electronics, shock-absorbing struts and softer tires. That makes it the perfect first “full-house” and high-performance jet for low-time to experienced EDF pilots!
The full-scale Viper Jet was designed to deliver fighter-jet looks and performance with low-wing prop-driven airplane handling so more pilots could enjoy flying a jet. The E-flite® Viper 70mm EDF is true-to-form both in its appearance and how it delivers a high-performance jet experience like no other, whether you’ve flown many jets before or even if it’s your first “full-house” jet model. It delivers incredible speed, vertical performance, and aerobatic capability while also being easier to take off and land than other similar class models - especially because this Bind-N-Fly Basic model is equipped with exclusive AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies. This updated and upgraded version also includes a higher performance Spektrum motor and 85A Avian Smart Lite ESC for added speed and vertical performance, plus delivers real-time telemetry data and thrust reversing via the AR631 receiver, along with shock-absorbing struts and softer tires for easier landings!
Skill Level 2 - Some Experience Required
Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this BNF Basic version is equipped with AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select that makes it easier to fly than PNP versions, it’s not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots, a “next step after a trainer” model for low-time RC pilots, or first EDF (Electric Ducted Fan)/jet model for intermediate pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly simpler EDF models like the E-flite Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm or 70mm, F-15 Eagle 64mm, and/or higher performance sport models like the V900 and V1200, or warbirds like the 1.2m and 1.5m series models, before attempting to fly the Viper 70mm EDF.
Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If you are, the Viper is not a suitable first-ever RC model and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft such as the E-flite® Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE) 70mm EDF ( www.horizonhobby.cc/HabuSTSRTF ). It's equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE technology that makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes almost everything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger that are sold separately) and is a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot!

Landing gears looks awesome 👍 Big salute to all RC lovers here, Pilot Robert Slovenia
Awesome upgrade, but any chance we can get a UMX 40mm Viper?
I think they wont as they already have the 50mm habu sss
Sweet. This bad boy parked next to my soon to be horizon hobby airwolf scale model.... ❤😂
Horizon... Please make me an airwolf 💋
😊 great you guys are keeping this one around 😊
Another Amazing Aircraft from HH!
Love to get one for my hanger!
I was wondering if this one would get the goodies and it DID! Awesome!!!
I flew mine for the first time this weekend, shoots violently to the right during take off, like a reversed tail dragger effect. Only way I could get it in the air was gradually raising the throttle, like a tail dragger. I have never seen an EDF like this. I didn't have a single take off that wasn't heart stopping. Once it was in the air, it flies awesome, and its plenty fast. Landings easy. Sound is great also. Just have to figure out this models take off character. Of course here in video, it goes arrow straight. A friend flew it also, who I totally trust, it did the same thing to him. This is off a paved runway.
Beautiful jet. Definitely going on my future aircraft list!!❤️
Man that thing is cool! Sounds awesome too
New color scheme looks great, like all the upgrades, soft tires Oh Yeah, well done HH, zoom zoom zoom Jeff in LA USA
Great job everyone . Nice upgrades .
Nice. Hope they release an updated 90mm version too.
Probably not happening since Viper 90mm already has all the upgrades.
I can attest...great jet!
For a second I thought the title said “E-flite *Vapor* 70mm EDF BNF Basic”. 😅
That would be fun!
Indoor EDF 🤔
Good refresh! Needed improvements and orange paint scheme is on point!
We knew you would like the orange BD ;)
@@HorizonHobbyProducts :)
Very good.
Of course this comes out 2 weeks after buying the previous model, expensive upgraded retracts and upgraded esc.. still happy to see its around though!
Will the landing gear shocks fit in the mold for the old 70mm viper? I guess I’m asking if I can upgrade the gear without having to cut too much foam.
You can replace just the struts (the retract units are the same!) and they will be available to order separately in a few weeks!
@@HorizonHobbyProducts Awesome! Looking forward to the upgrade! The old viper is a great flying jet, and the only issue I’ve had with it is landing.
can I just upgrade the landing gear of my old viper with the new ones? Do they fit ?
Yes! You can replace just the struts (the retract units are the same!) and they will be available to order separately in a few weeks :)
When would we expect this for the uk 🇬🇧 👍🏻
Will have to test this out in the real world if you know what I mean. ;)
Umx viper 30 mm 3s next
Nah...based on our testing we've found 4S works best with a single 30mm fan ;)
@@HorizonHobbyProducts ohhh man bring it onnnnnn !!!!!!
Will my 8 channel radio run everything on one of these?
Yes! You need 6-channels for all of the standard functions (throttle, aileron, elevator, rudder, retracts, flaps), plus one more channel for SAFE Select and another channel for reversing. That means you can use all of those functions with an 8-channel transmitter :)
@@HorizonHobbyProducts great I preordered. Thanks!
Is it faster than the 90mm
They both have similar top speeds (~120+ MPH in level flight), but the 70mm looks faster because it's smaller!
I bought the V1 less than a month ago 💀
