Coolant filter yes! Oil filter is over kil. way cheaper systems out there.
Greatly detailed as a new 6.0 owner I am still learning a lot (first diesel too) the sinister diesel coolant kit is sitting in my cart on amazon might add a little more too after seeing this. UPDATE: Saw the kit with the oil bypass and coolant instantly added to cart will be adding likely this year or spring 2024 :)
What’s Brian!!! That’s amazing that you are gonna get this kit for your truck! I know it’s expensive and definitely a tough pill 💊 to swallow…but hopefully it will pay dividends in the end! To this day everything has been solid! I did tow my 12k toy hauler from San Diego to Grand Canyon, Utah, Vegas and back home in July with 110-115 degree weather and oil got hot around 235 degrees…it cut down one of my O rings on the dummy plug which led to a long start while cold!!! So if you ever notice your truck taking a long time to start…check Stand pipes and dummy plugs! Did it all my self with the updated version and saved tons of $$$ doing it my self and it resolved the issue which I was absolutely pumped on Hahha! The steel oil lines might chaffe/wear the AC hose. Maybe cover with fuel line/zip tie.

The problem is not the filter its how it's installed splicing into two pipes while allowing the majority of coolant to continue unfiltered to the oil cooler , is the problem do you think the sand in the coolant will do a 90 and go through the filter or carry on as it did before and go through the rad and onto the oil cooler. I did a mod by mounting the oil cooler by the battery on the passengers side with hoses for oil and coolant, I installed a 2" strainer which strains all the coolant before it passes through the oil cooler. these hoses allow me to back flush the coolant side of the oil filter as required and you would not believe the amount of sand I take out . Its been three year's now with no problems and my delta is 4degrees to begin and I clean when it gets to 12 degrees

Yeah I can definitely do that! Always use MotorCraft filters though no matter what! Will save you time and $$$ and maintenance down the road!!! I have another 3k miles before I can do a video! But I will! Please subscribe and I’ll do you a solid!
I’d suggest a complete coolant flush before adding the coolant filtration system.
I actually just did that when the truck hit 25,000 miles...it was clean per the mechanic!!! This truck has crazy low miles for what it is!! But definitely agree with you bud! Thanks for the comment!!!
I had that on my 2006 F350 before I bullet proofed it. I do notice one thing, it looks like you installed the coolant filter “in hose” after your valve for your heater core.
So basically it will only circulate coolant when you have your heater on. Usually you tap into the heater core line right under the turbo hot air pipe. Between the valve and alternator.
The coolant tube should run right along side the oil fill from the firewall to the radiator. Somewhere on that line there is the vacuum controlled valve. You want to be in front of that valve. (Between the valve and radiator) so you always have circulation in the coolant filter once the engine heats up.
Well “Son Of A B” 🤣 when I get off duty I’m going to see what I done screwed up 🤷♂️... every time I have touched the filter it’s hot as hell...yet may be radiant heat from the engine! Man thanks for looking out!!! Looks like I’m going to have to run my heater all damn summer sweating 😥 my ass off! 🤣

Look at this video. See where they hook it up. They removed the hot air pipe so you can see better. My truck looked just like this one.

In hindsight, YT is a creep. I've been here before and even commented. I'm always looking at stuff for my truck so it's not a shocker. Glad to hear that your work is holding strong. I'm hoping to get the engine work done to my truck this summer and not really have to think about it again.

But now she taking a little while to start once sitting for a long period of time. Like 5 seconds of cranking after 12 hours sitting…so I have some diagnostic work to do and figure out what the cause is! All my numbers look perfect so I have no damn idea haha! Why bypass the oil filter. Read the OEM one does just fine??
Its not a bypass in the true sense. Your OEM filter is still working...It is an additional filter that takes your contaminants down to under 1 micron.

I cant believe I just saw you cut the hose 2 times instead of 1 time. Do you really think that extra 1" of hose would make a difference?
Dude that 1 inch of hose causes friction…this robbing 12HP…🤣 haha, no…I just took out what I was replacing it with I guess…never really even thought 💭 about to be honest…I guess I’m a darn freak!!! What’s up bud!!! Truck has been running Flawless…knock on wood 🪵 haha! It has 45k miles now (original) and is my daily driver! I have not done any motor work yet at all!!! We did a 2000 mile road trip towing our 12k lbs toy hauler in the dead of summer through Arizona, Utah and California deserts! Did damn amazing! Hope this helps you man!!! What’s up Greg, great question!!! You still replace the stock filter every oil change and I will change the oil bypass filter every 10,000-12,000 miles so not every oil change! I’m changing my oil at every 5k.
Since install how has this been any issues??
Hi Greg!!! No…zero…knock on wood 🪵 🤣🤣🤣 I did have a no start issue and it turned out to be a bad FICM so I replaced it with a bullet proof FICM and that solved my no start!!! I have the Scan Gauge 2 which showed me my FICM voltage was 27v and should be 48v 😭 $1200 to get fixed including 53v 6phase FICM, air filter change, and oil change!!!
Question what was the rattling sound before you started your truck after installation was done? I’m new on my diesel F350 6.0 and mine does it once in a while “randomly” not all the time. Thank you please reply.
That's the fuel pump priming.
THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE FUEL PUMP! IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WTF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, YOU SHOULDN'T BE GIVING ADVICE AND BE QUITE! THAT IS THE AIR PUMP! IT'S PRIMING THE LOCKS FOR YOU'RE FRONT WHEELS 4X4 AUTO ENGAGEMENT AND OPENING THE GATE FOR THE HEATER CORE ON YOUR COOLANT LINES SO IT DOESN'T EXPLODE! VERY IMPORTANT PIECE OF EQUIPMENT! MISINFORMATION IS VERY COSTLY!

No man I haven’t, the truck now has 25,000 miles and I put a coolant filter on it at 21,000 miles. I hopefully won’t have those problems with the cooler since I have done those minor things! Also I live in California and I think they frown upon it 🤣 you know...global warming and crap!!! Hahha

@@Chad-xg8qx just some advise, don't do studs and gaskets unless you need too... as soon as you start opening things up, you start getting leaks and other issues. If you do the filters like you suggest and don't beat on the truck, save the 4,000 it would cost and enjoy it.
I have an 07 with 65000 miles, if i do this i dont have to do EGR delete?,do i need to do both?
What’s up old papa!!! You know, it wouldn’t hurt to still have both filters! The stock EGR is what clogs and screws everything up for sure…I actually just lost the FICM on my truck, just turned 31000 miles and it wouldn’t start!!! Sucks!!! I’m sorry I can’t answer with 100 % certainty!!! If you can afford it do it, if not and it’s egr is deleted than don’t 💪 hope this helps bud & thanks for the comment!!! Let me know what you end up doing!!!

One thing is for sure with the Fords...it's not a question of IF it leaves you stranded...it's a matter of WHEN (assuming all bulletproofing hasnt been done). Mine has left me on the side of the road turning wrenches several times.

Great Video. Sinister and any other company should send you their free products for the 6.0 and let you make a video. I think you did an excellent job in display on every detail. One of the best I have seen on the Ford 6.0.

That coolant filter is junk. If you want to protect your engine get a aluminum radiator and flush the engine and radiator every 2 years. And never use tap water in your radiator. I've never had a problem with my 6.0.

Yeah I feel they are a gimmick….I’ve had the system flushed at 30k, truck only has 46k original miles on it! So bad the filter on it early at 21k, cut it open to find very little debris inside! Already on I believe the 4th filter as I change it every 5k. Definitely will do the radiator once this one takes a 💩! Any recommendations for a Radiator?

@Dukes of off-road Hazzard mishimoto radiator with cooler thermostat. Truck never gets above 185 even on a hot day with the A/C on running hard. If it gets half way I just let off for a few minutes and it cools right back down.
