    You answered my main question. I was already aware of a bandsaw’s resawing capability. I wanted to know how good they are at curved cuts. As a carpenter I’ve used table saws my whole life; but I’ve never owned a bandsaw. I’m planning to completely switch over to bandsaws, because I can replace several other tools with this one. This is especially good for people like me with limited shop space.

    Important and useful information, Thanks George!! I have a grizzly 14" and I build guitars, a band saw is like tool #1 for any shop...
    What gets me is....there is not one woodworker that would give this a thumbs down..so why the thumbs down, I would like to see a comment from someone that thinks this is not useful infomation.

    I like how you go through details. You go directly what it's all about. Keep it up.

    Wait do you even want a scroll saw? Maybe just put that $ to a better band saw?

    I want to know and see how to turn logs into lumber PLEASE and education about that! And how we might use different blade or strategy for different wood. Have wanted to do this for a long time and have logs sitting in my front yard waiting for someone to use them Aka Mamma Me! We have Douglas fir logs and some juniper that smells like cedar. We had GIANT….GIANT Colton wood but hubby said we couldn’t use those for anything so the tree cutter arborist chipped those up mostly. Is it true cotton wood can’t be used for anything? We have a whole house to build and furniture too! I can’t afford to pay someone else $400|ft OR MORE I’m told, to have the home be 100% done by someone else so we are hoping to do a lot of the work ourselves especially all the interior as we already did this with a lot of success for our 4 plex next to our house.
    I’d also like to know how we might be able to make our own wood trim for the floors? Thank you so much and can’t wait to learn more!

    Can you produce an up-to-date video for the best engineered and useful bandsaw for 10" and 14" for late 2018?

    Fantastic video
    It will be great is you have time to make a Bandsaw vs Table saw comparison video, detailing the advantages of both types

    Hi George. Great video. I am starting to turn wood and I see the need for either a bandsaw or a scroll saw or both. It seems that after watching your video, a bandsaw could accomplish both and be the tool of choice. Agree?

    Can you get blades that can be used for cutting steels?

    • @Wwgoa
      @Wwgoa  8 лет назад

      +katgolds30 You can, but these should not be used on a woodworking bandsaw. For cutting ferrous metals you need to cut more slowly. So, look for a bandsaw that is specifically designed for this purpose, and source appropriate blades for that machine.

      WoodWorkers Guild Of America Thank you for your reply. An I right to assume a variable speed band saw with the appropriate blades can be used for woodworking and meal working?
