I would love to have a bandsaw like that! I am currently restoring an old (scrapped) model, replacing bearings on the wheels as well as dried up rubbers and the drive belt. Will be interesting to see see how it performs once completed.
I've just recently acquired a band saw which I've wanted for a long time. This video has opened my eyes to a lot when it comes to what mine should be capable of. Thank you for a great video mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Brad all very helpful tips, i just need a whopping big Bandsaw now as i only have a Bench Top model, oh well dreams are free at least ha ha ha. Barry (ENG)
Very well done Brad ... even though I have a bandsaw that I bought in the last year, I’m still learning to use it and this gave me some great ideas. I like your approach to explaining things, that’s easy to understand and useful. Thanks for continuing to provide good content in a friendly manner.
Great video, getting my Jet bandsaw this weekend and can’t wait to use it on some woodworking projects, love the walnut myself, new subscriber here, keep up the great work👊🏼

I’m a DIYer that does 1-2 projects a month at most, and I found that a lot of projects I need require a band saw. I kept my eye out for a used one but couldn’t find a decent deal and but the bullet on a brand new Ryobi. It’s not the best band saw but having a band saw has been an amazing addition to my collection.
Brad, one of the reasons I like your videos, is you tell me when a corporation has sponsored and what they’ve done. Mainly because your good at what you do and how you explain. Thanks!
There was a RUclips video on how to make a chair out of a single 2X6 that was 8 feet long. Some of the pieces required you to cut the board in half or 3/4 by 3 inches tall. I found out real quick that it was too dangerous to cut on a table saw and would be a perfect job for a bandsaw. I just ordered one saw will have one in my shop in the next week or two.
Great video Brad! Thank you! Would you consider producing a video that talks about what to consider when looking to purchase a bandsaw? What have you learned? Differences between models? Again, thank you for the tutorial!!
The fence on that Jet looks AMAZING! I never considered one so tall. It doesn’t look like they sell it separately though. Already have a band saw with FYI fences, but would love one so big.
👍👍 great information. Thank you for posting this. I think peoples biggest failure when it comes to band saws is, it is a finesse machine - not a freaking chain saw. Use them wisely & not beyond their capabilities & you will be pleasantly surprised ☺️
Brad, please. I beg you, try to convince JET to start shipping to Europe. I am in love with a lot of their products, but just can’t seem to get my hands on them here in youtube. Awesome video as always
I HATE TABLE SAWS HATE HATE HATE!!!!! NOT THAT THE FIRST TIME I I USED IT I HELD A 50 pound piece of material and it failed. but I thought about it, the risk is too stupid high to make the same cut with other things that are way safer, ever since I had to make desks, decks, fences, cabinets, there is not a time when the stupid life taking, finger chopping table say was needed, SCREW TE TABLE SAW, HATE! START A REVOLUTION AND WAR ON TABLE SAWS!! BURN THEM AT THE STAKE! its the worse lie on the planet. i'd choose to live with the moon landing which is a lie, then work with a table saw. that is how much I hate it.
Buying my 1st bandsaw this week so checking out video's. your's is by far the best, well spoken with clarity and no BS along the way. Thank you I have subscribed.
Not really sure how I missed this video in the past. But I'm about to take the leap on buying a bandsaw. This video was perfect. I'm looking at Jet... Looking at a 14".... But I wanted to make sure that it would do the things I want. There are lots of models to choose from. Also... I was looking at woodcraft. They are a solid hour away. So we would have to get the trailer hooked up and go get it. Long drive. Lots of work. This video showed me that this model will do the things I want. Plus... The Amazon link gives free shipping and they deliver to my front door. WIN! WIN! WIN ! Question... I see your blade is small and you still are reshaping big pieces. At our local MakerSpace they have a much bigger blade... What do you recommend? I also want to do some bandsaw boxes. Seems like the blade you are using can do a lot without blade changes?
Hey, Angie! I almost always leave a 5/8" blade on it, 3 tpi. This resaws very well (as you can see) and does gentle curves. Diameters under 2 or 3 " get hard to do because of the width of the blade. You're gonna love having a bandsaw!
we noticed you get a lot of free stuff including an expensive jet band saw..ffs. Then you leave a referral link to the same band saw you got for free so your making money on anyone buying it..I mean Jesus you're making money hand over fist.
Hi, Brad! Doc here - I just noticed that the captions really mangled the word "resaw" or "resawn" in several different humorous attempts at English accuracy. I don't know if this is something that you can edit, but if so...
I'm looking to buy my first bandsaw for cutting wood and steel. However, I don't have a big budget. Looking for something around the $500 range. I make knives and this would be a great addition to my tools. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks.
$1000. Not bad for 13" resaw. And it can obviously handle 5/8" blades. I wonder how much the fence is. With the fence, notice how you can't push the wood against the fence after it passes behind the blade. There's a kerf there, and pushing at the back would pinch the blade. So the fence behind the blade isn't that useful. All your pressure or feather boards will be on the front half of the fence. If you cover the front half of the fence with a 1/16" laminate, you will get nearly the same support, and there's some space for the wood to warp when it gets cut.
Wow you got given a bandsaw? ...and cedar posts? Hehe your world is far removed from mine. I have a small bandsaw but the blade drifts. What am I doing wrong?
By not mentioning "band saw drift" and how to avoid it, you are setting up new band saw owners for frustration. They will think their tool is cheap or broken. BTW, drift is caused by the blade not sitting on the tires properly. If you don't know what a tire is... view more youtube.
How about a video on how I can get free bandsaw just by making a video.....so many ppl can't afford new saws and you just said they sent you one just to make a video. Damn that sucks.
Hello, i have a sears 10 inch table band saw. It came with a 6tpi blade. I see the blade is getting dull. What blade is a good replacement? Stay with the 6tpi or something else?
Thanks, Brad! Good, informative content with great editing. Nothing worse than some guys breathing, saying "uh" 100 times, to make a 50 second video into 10 minutes. You're a PRO!
Grizzly G0513. Best saw that is under $1000. But also depends on what you mean by "affordable price". Bandsaws that are less expensive than this one are much smaller, weaker and unable to resaw very well.
My bandsaw is two speed..is it better to do the resaw on the slower speed? I'm asking so I don't spend time changing the belt if you know from experience
You should not back a cut kerif out of a moving blade any twist lift up or sudden wrong move It the blade can pop off the tires and trash the blade, damage the saw and hurt you. Just good solid idea to shut the saw off and let the blade come to a full stop. Why risk this? Its not worth it.
My band saw is a 3 phase electric , and i want work on it i want change it to singel electric .... what can i do for these problem ? You have any solution?
I'm looking to buy my first bandsaw. I'm currently trying to decide between the WEN 3962, which has a 6" clearance, and a Rikon 10-306 which has a better motor, but only a 5" depth. Do you have a recommendation?
@@Fixthisbuildthat The wall I'm up against is both budget and the size of my workshop space. I find the 10" bandsaws I'm considering to be in the neighborhood of 80 lbs, which I can easily move myself VS a 14" saw which quickly escalates to 250 lbs and several hundred dollars more. That being considered, would you go with the 5.5 amp motor and 5" clearance, or 3.5 amps and 6" clearance?

@Big boi alot of money but look at the grizzly brand.
So apparently I been wanting the wrong tool the whole time
Inherited a full set of woodworking equipment and this info was exactly what I was seeking. Thank-you! Great video!
I'm envious... My father was a clown to wood working.
I just inherited a 90's Delta 14" band saw, what is the next machine I should get? A joiner maybe?
My pinky will never be the same due to the bandsaw

I need to know how to stop the blade on bandsaw from going on a tilt ??
I know I need a Band saw, then I saw this Jet and now I REALLY need a band saw

Bookmatching and gluing the two pieces together is a great tip. That joined piece looks awesome. I always enjoy your content.
Your video was well done. Lots of usable information. Thanks...
Man, this gentleman has my dream workshop! Hopefully I’ll have a similar set up in the next 5 years or so. That’d be awesome!
People, please don't use your thumb as a push stick like this guy on his first re-saw!
I really like to watch your videos because you know what you are doing... thanks for share with us your knowledge...

I was just about to buy a G0555 on CL when my wife said "why do you need to buy a bandsaw?" Brad, you're an angel! Perfect timing!

Brad, your info is always very much appreciated.
how difficult would it be to make book ends that hold a stained glass. I would need a cut out in the center for a 1/8" wide glass
i need to cut mortise and tenon joints in 4inch x 4inch timber, which is the smallest bandsaw that can do that job well ? Thank you.
hai.... can i know this bandsaw model you use....isit heavy duty?
You can do perfect round corners with rotational jigs too.
I would take a band saw over a table saw any day. Seems so much more functional
I can not use this video for my class. The blade is exposed too much for safety reasons.
