If you don't know, TRYP FPV got a MASSIVE UPDATE that changed the entire simulator, so also probably its ranking in this video. I'll probably place TRYP FPV around the first place for now in a close fight with VelociDrone. It has so much better physics, it's just insane!!! Here's a video to help you understand it better: ruclips.net/video/u_ZWCDIwPsk/видео.html
You can pick up DRL for really cheap, it goes on sale all the time. But if you do you should just go into Freestyle mode and follow along with a RUclips series that teaches you how to fly. You can still follow along and train the concepts even if they use a different similator. The tutorials were extremely rigid, and being reset every 4 seconds for the slightest mistake without learning correction or recovery was counterproductive. I started learning much faster once I got off those tutorials.
For a beginner, indeed DRL is decent to start learning FPV on freestyle/free flight maps; But it won’t be as accurate as the other ones mentioned here. However, good point with the tutorials
Great video - I have a couple of the sims on your list and I think that I agree with your findings (I am a beginner with only about 6-8 hrs practice so far - really just starting out...) I could not believe how hard Liftoff felt the very first time. I thought something must be wrong with it, etc... nope it was just me. It has given me a much deeper respect for the people that can fly these things. It might be easy for some, for me it is truly difficult and I am learning very slowly. Great video, thanks for all of the info it truly is helpful.
Thanks a lot for the appreciation and I must say, indeed, learning FPV as a very beginner proves to be quite challenging for everyone. I remember my first hours into Liftoff - I was the same, I couldn't figure out what was wrong - of course, it was me, and I learned that FPV is an entirely new skill and takes time to learn it; but once you do, everything comes naturally when you fly such drones.
I'd pretty much agree with your choices, a worthy addition would be the free FPV.Skydive but also to add the the DJI FPV drone is included in the Velocidrone Freestyle add on.
Thank you! Yes, I was thinking about the FPV SkyDive and surely is on my list, but I'll aim to add on a "Top FREE FPV Simulators" similar video; because it's free, it can't compete with the triple A simulators in terms of physics, drone management and content, but as a free simulator, is in fact, on my top list. I have the VelociDrone Freestyle Addon. I didn't know the DJI FPV is there. Is it? Didn't notice

Great overview and info on these sims. How close do you think the top 3 are to each other? I have liftoff and DRL, I LOVE the DRL sim, many of the tracks have a kind of surreal, fantasy vibe to them which I think is super cool. Liftoff was my first sim and for the first hour or 2 i was convinced that something was wrong with it - nope, turns out there was something wrong with me... taught me a bunch of lessons and I am glad that I have it. I also have a sim called DCL or "Drone Champions League" and I also like that one a bunch. I like it more for the variety of tracks and once again, it also has a kind of surreal fantasy feel on some tracks... This one does not feel as realistic as the other 2 though, but it is still fun and "playable" - some of this could for sure be on me not knowing how to adjust, setup, tune a quad. If I had to pick one - DRL. Fun as heck to fly, lots of tracks, etc. But if i had to pick one to truly help me improve my skills on a drone in the real world, then Liftoff. Oops - I just saw that I have made a post on this video about a month ago - but this post is a little different so I guess I will leave it. Cheers!
Hey!. Sometimes, I love exploring and trying different sims, and usually, I spend quite some time in a specific SIM then I move to another and back around, so I don't get hung up on only one of them. - Liftoff evolved a lot since the introduction of A.I. PIDs. - Uncrashed had major updates with nice improvements, and it's a pleasure to practice in there. - Newly, I find FPV Logic's physics excellent for freestyle, but the maps are limited. (Liftoff, Uncrashed, and VelociDrone are still the alpha simulators, and although you can enjoy practicing and improving at a great length, there are some differences, and for most FPV pilots, it's a personal choice). I guess I haven't spent much time behind Velocidrone lately, but is still one of the top. As for DRL, it wasn't on my top by far as it's not that realistic; I never got the chance to focus on DCL though.
@@LovelyscapeFPV DRL is definitely different but very cool in it's own way for sure and DCL is kind of the same with some great maps, some of my absolute favorites! Hey buddy nice information, i am looking for a sim in which i can do practice with stick mode 3. Can you please help me out? I purchased lift off but its of no use now to me as I'm stick mode 3 pilot and liftoff has no options to switch stick modes 😢
I think you can set automatically your stick mode when you calibrate your controller. Sure thing that would work (but it won’t display it right on the graphics). For example when calibrating throttle, don’t push the left stick up as on mode 2, push the right one up - to set the axes mapping as per your stick input and not to pick these settings from the menu. Not sure about Uncrashed, but I think you can easily change the controller mode there - I say I am not sure as I am not home for the next couple of days so I can’t verify this information in Uncrashed (or Liftoff for that matter) But I’ll try my best to do so when I have access to my sims.
I watched the whole video, enjoyed all of it and will probably make a purchase based on this list. but when you mentioned the sponsored segment I almost automatically clicked away from the video lol
Hehe, I do think a few people managed to click away there :) Thank you for watching the video. Since I also make it, TRYP FPV had a major update and now is worth considering as well.
I'm missing a bit information about compatibility to computers, which are not optimized for gaming (except 2 mentions in Uncrashed and Velocidrone). Not everyone who wants to start fpv by practicing with a sim is coming from the gaming scene. E.g. I got two Dell notebooks with quite good processor and memory, but the graphics cards are office standard and not really for gamers: "Intel UHD Graphics 620" and "NVIDIA NVS 5200M". Trying the "DRL Simulator" even with lowest quality settings is quite bad: Always a red warning like "LOW FPS - PLEASE REDUCE QUALITY 25 fps" while the GPU always does 100%. - Buying this sim was quite a waste of money for me. "VelociDrone" and "Tiny Whoop Go" both can cope with these standard graphics cards pretty good and the GPU doesn't need more than 80%. Don't know about other simulators so far... Does anyone know about "TRYP FPV", "Liftoff" and "Liftoff MicroDrones"?
Hi there, I do apologize for that. I do have a video specific for FPV Simulators working on MacOS and their requirements & real-life performance testing, but this doesn't cover Windows PC. One thing to note that FPV Simulators are exactly like computer games and have similar graphic requirments. Some are better optimized than others and some really require a lot of resources to run. Even if you have a laptop with a dedicated video card, unless it's 6gb+ as far as I've seen it, it will likely not work or work with low framerate. - Liftoff is much better optimized than before and than many other simulators but still requires a dedicated video card to run. According to their website, minimum is 1gb, but should always aim for more, of course. - Liftoff simulator from my own tests I've noticed it's smoother. The engine behind this is better optimized. Yet still, the minimum requirement is higher, at 3gb video card. But if you have a higher end gaming computer, Liftoff will struggle at max details and high resolution whilst Liftoff Micro Drones works way much better. - DRL I haven't focused much on it, but from my Mac tests, it's actually trully terrible in terms of smoothness as compared to other simulators. - VelociDrone is probably one of the best-optimized FPV simulators in terms of graphic requirement. While I haven't specifically tested on laptops or computers with no graphic cards, I do know it works on older systems, while many other FPV simulators does not. As for Tiny whoop go, it wasn't on my radar, but it's catching attention and it's one of the next ones to focus on. Unfortunately, with any of these FPV simulators, there is no workaround in terms of graphic requirments and their needs to run smoothly or run at all. Maybe one (cheaper?) approach would be an older xBox one or ps4, which decimates how much someone may have to invest in a gaming computer (be aware that I have not tested any of these simulators on PlayStation and Xbox, and I am not sure which of them are supported as such). Once again, I do sorry for not covering more from their system requirement. I do know that in one video I talked a bit around TRYP FPV true requirments as compared to their "minimum recommended" and I got a bit of hate from it as it's not an area I should focus (in simple terms), although I feel it is. Maybe I will create a video with all these FPV simulators and how they run with their system requirements? The only thing (not bragging) is that I don't have anymore an older windows pc or laptop to test, just a mid-higher end gaming pc and there would not be an accurate measure (or maybe it would with some analytical data?)

Hi there, Most probably, it won't work. The standard drone remote controllers, such as DJI RC, RC-N1, RC2, N2, and RC Pro, are not meant to be used with FPV simulators. The idea behind an FPV remote controller is that the throttle tension is eliminated, so the throttle gimbal does not get centered and remains in the same position. Even if you're able to connect it to a simulator that made the RC2 compatible, you'll not fully benefit from the simulator because of how the throttle reacts/returns to the center axis. But for some reason, Xbox and PlayStation controllers that act the same are fully compatible with all these 5 simulators.
Hi Alex, It’s all possible to use both the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 and the Horus X10S Express on an older Mac computer. I had used both of them a while back on my older 2019 MacBook Air, and now with my M2 MacBook Air There shouldn’t be an issue to use on a 2020 iMac. Is the latest MacOS version? The only thing to keep in mind is the weird cable requirement for Mac connectivity if you’re using the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2. I wrote an article about that if you’re interested fpvcraft.com/how-to-connect-dji-fpv-remote-controller-2-to-mac/ Other than that, I almost guarantee full compatibility of both controllers with an 2020 iMac and to practice in simulators
As far as I know, yes, you can use FPV RC controllers, but haven’t explored yet which works the best or not and which FPV simulator is widely optimised for it. But generally speaking, it’s common to use FPV RC with Playstation and Xbox
Not as far as I know; they do offer like a beginner’s guide tutorial to learn the basics and maybe some basic flips (never used any tutorials to learn FPV). But I really doubt they have freestyle tutorials. You better find this content on RUclips
No but Lift off in Freestyle mode will at least tell you once you've completed one, if you're after trick tutorials you can't go wrong with the @headmazta RUclips channel
Hi. I didn’t tried yet but have done some researches on it and it looks promising. I didn’t wanted to include it on the list as yet is still in early access, barely released, and I would like to give it a real chance for a proper review without the early access bugs, which I’m confident they are all being solved. But thank you for reminding me of FPV Logic. I think it would be on my to-do list to purchase, try it, maybe share some content; I will see.
It was from a laptop i7 gen 9th, 32gb RAM and 1660ti 6GB video card. But the laptop is end-life, as I’ve used it for a long time to crypto mining, it has very reduced performance; with this config, you should run these sims even better.
@@LovelyscapeFPV Thank you for replying! I currently have a 12th gen i5 with only onboard graphics which I've seen is unsupported by Liftoff at least. Guess I'll have to wait till I can afford a gfx card lol

Hi there,

The idea behind an FPV remote controller is that the throttle tension is eliminated, so the throttle gimbal does not get centered and remains in the same position.

It’s all possible to use both the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 and the Horus X10S Express on an older Mac computer.
I had used both of them a while back on my older 2019 MacBook Air, and now with my M2 MacBook Air
There shouldn’t be an issue to use on a 2020 iMac. Is the latest MacOS version?
The only thing to keep in mind is the weird cable requirement for Mac connectivity if you’re using the DJI FPV Remote Controller 2.
I wrote an article about that if you’re interested
fpvcraft.com/how-to-connect-dji-fpv-remote-controller-2-to-mac/
Other than that, I almost guarantee full compatibility of both controllers with an 2020 iMac and to practice in simulators
Thanks!
Glad to help!
Have you tried Zephyr?
No, not yet. Still missing a few FPV simulators but it’s on plan to get it.
Any good Cinematic sims?
That would be TRYP FPV. Have a look!

Can I use a rc controller on ps4 ?
As far as I know, yes, you can use FPV RC controllers, but haven’t explored yet which works the best or not and which FPV simulator is widely optimised for it.
But generally speaking, it’s common to use FPV RC with Playstation and Xbox
Do any of these simulator have tutorials on how to do tricks?
Not as far as I know; they do offer like a beginner’s guide tutorial to learn the basics and maybe some basic flips (never used any tutorials to learn FPV). But I really doubt they have freestyle tutorials.
You better find this content on RUclips
No but Lift off in Freestyle mode will at least tell you once you've completed one, if you're after trick tutorials you can't go wrong with the @headmazta RUclips channel
Have you tried fpv logic?
I think it would be on my to-do list to purchase, try it, maybe share some content; I will see.
i also tried all the sims available. fpv logic is really good. I would say its number 2 after velocidrone. slighlty better than uncrashed
I would definitely have to focus on it more.
Thanks a lot for sharing your insight. I will acquire it next and practice on it as much as possible.
ooo, thanks. didn't know that one existed. just bought it.
What are the specs of the computer you're running these on, please?
It was from a laptop i7 gen 9th, 32gb RAM and 1660ti 6GB video card. But the laptop is end-life, as I’ve used it for a long time to crypto mining, it has very reduced performance; with this config, you should run these sims even better.
@@LovelyscapeFPV Thank you for replying! I currently have a 12th gen i5 with only onboard graphics which I've seen is unsupported by Liftoff at least. Guess I'll have to wait till I can afford a gfx card lol
you are in mode 3?
No, is the mode 2.
Nobody does liftoff justice!!! Its 10 time better looking if you have correct graphic settings!!!
😀🤙
Just get a 3 inch and bypass the $3000 for the computer enjoy flying
True, couldn't be more true. The idea is to start flying ASAP. But some people may already have high-end computers (gamers).
@fpvcraft right but if your on a fixed income like myself it's not that easy. It took my 5 years to get everything I needed and I'm still adding more. I've learned never go cheap cause in the end you'll end up buying the expensive one later.
Again, I agree with you.
Getting into the hobby, it can be pricey. Not to mention, there has to be a monthly allocated budget for repairs, upgrades, new lipos, etc.
But i only want to sim flying and don't want more physical toys, so no. I'll ignore your advice and take advantage of fpvcraft's excellent resource, thanks.
then spend $4000 in repairs! 🤣
you make alot of ts mts sounds real hard to listen to you
Sorry about that. It wasn’t intentional, just my microphone. Thank you for the feedback; I will try my best to improve my audio
