Guitarist Eric Patrick Clapton, CBE (born 30 March 1945) is an English rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is the only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: once as a solo artist and separately as a member of the Yardbirds and of Cream. Clapton has been referred to as one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time. Clapton ranked second in Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" and fourth in Gibson's "Top 50 Guitarists of All Time". He was also named number five in Time magazine's list of "The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players" in 2009. Clapton has been the recipient of 18 Grammy Awards, and the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. In 2004 he was awarded a CBE at Buckingham Palace for services to music. He has received four Ivor Novello Awards from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award. In his solo career, Clapton has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time. In 1998, Clapton, a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, founded the Crossroads Centre on Antigua, a medical facility for recovering substance abusers.

The producers just happened to use this (tragic) song for the movie "Rush", with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jason Patric. The film was about drug addiction, but the actual back story of the song is based on the accidental death of Clapton's own 3-year old son, who fell out of a 57-story apartment window when Eric was not home.
This song was used in a movie called Rush but it was written for his son who tragically fell from a high rise building and it an amazing song from Eric.

White room by Cream that you reviewed . Eric Clapton was the lead guitarist of Cream. The 3 members of Cream were considered the Cream of the musicians hence the name of the Band.

The song was on the soundtrack to the movie Rush about drug addiction. The song was about his son's death, as stated by others. One of the old school original blues men said Eric earned the right to sing the blues after all he had been through. His son's death, his best friend dying (Jimi Hendrix), giving up his helicopter seat to Stevie Ray Vaughn that crashed killing SRV and some of Eric's team. The long issue with Patti Boyd, whom he met when she married his other nest friend George Harrison. He wrote most of the double album Layla as a love story to her. He married her years later and later divorced. He wrote a lot of songs about her.
The video for this one really confuses the issue. The song was written for his toddler son that died, but it was also used in the movie Rush (which is about under cover cops becoming drug addicts and falling in love) so there's clips from that too.
He wrote this for his son, who died tragically falling from a high rise balcony. This isn't his typical style

Signature songs also include Layla (both electric and acoustic versions are fabulous), Wonderful Tonight, Lay Down Sally, Cocaine, I Shot the Sheriff (cover of the Bob Marley song). Others may have more favorites.
After Cocaine you HAVE to listen to Cream's Sunshine of Your Love.
One of the most beautiful songs ever. Can't imagine his pain when he wrote this.
this song kills me to this day because I remember when this happened and I could not imagine what he felt! But it also is versatile because he made it ambiguous enough that it could be applied to any loss of a loved one. PS- GREAT SHIRT LEX!
clapton has made quite a few masterpieces. he was with "The Yardbirds", "Cream", "Derek and the Dominoes" among others, he also had an extremely successful solo career. consistently listed by pretty much everyone has being in the top 5 guitarists of all time.
a suggestion that I can't wait for you guys to review - Meatloaf "Paradise by the Dashboard Light"
As a parent this is a heartbreaking song to think of your little child dying and maybe not knowing you when you meet in heaven.
I’ve lost a son and this song breaks me every time.
This was from Clapton's first album after his 4 year old son fell to his death. The tragedy had been in the media and many wondered if would continue after it. You're right, most people knew the story and recognized the connection as soon as they heard this.
He was in the band Derick and the Dominoes and performed "Layla". Awesome song!
Knowing the genesis of this song, it hits hard for the parent and the child.
Wonderful tonight.
Tears in my eyes, express your grief in music is a talent.
A legend one of the best guitar players of all time
So absolutely tragic, this beautifully painful song makes me cry knowing the backstory, every time.
You beat her to it again Brad! She is ahead by quite a few but you figured out the last two songs I watched.
I’m sorry. I love watching your reactions but I simply cannot listen to this song. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking and I just cannot
Aye, with certain songs, if the reactors haven't been "briefed" it is just too tough.
1:20 and onwards, y'all had me balling. Mental !
Conor....his beautiful little boy ❣️
R.I.Paradise Angel 🙏🙏🙏👼👼👼
This one always hits me hard. As a dad of little boys.. I can't imagine the loss.
Love this song so so much.
Many feels
an example of a genuine sentiment... kind of rare when u think about it
Eric Clapton is a rock legend inducted into the hall of fame three times! Sings rock ,ballads and the blues!
This song 😭 As much as I love this song, it's very hard to listen to because it reminds me of my son, Bradlee.
I feel Eric's pain, not just through his lyrics but also as a parent who outlived their child.
Thank you Brad and Lex ❤️
He wrote it about his son’s death. He was a legend before this song because of his song writing. I was blessed to see him live a month ago in Ft. Worth, TX. If you want to experience Sir Eric Clapton (yes, he was knighted), dig deep. One of the greatest on guitar. Thank you for sharing!🖤
He wrote this for his son who died falling out of there families apartment from the balcony this was the first song he played live when he came back from to music break he took so sad he loved his son
Parents shouldn’t have to out live there babies his was a 4 yr old toddler so he’s worried his son my not know him when he passes away himself will he know him will he recognize him will he know he’s his daddy very heartbreaking song
Hes the 9nly person inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame 3x. Once as a member of cream, once as a member of the yard birds, and once as himself. Legend
Is it just me, or is Lex just simply gorgeous! lol Love these two! Keep the jams going!
I can't even imagine the pain he was in writing this song, no parent should ever live longer than there children.... I hear this song and I instantly thank God mine are doing well.
Love the shirt lex your in the family, welcome guys 🤘
The producers just happened to use this (tragic) song for the movie "Rush", with Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jason Patric. The film was about drug addiction, but the actual back story of the song is based on the accidental death of Clapton's own 3-year old son, who fell out of a 57-story apartment window when Eric was not home.
You two are always on point
he wrote this song about his son who died, but they used the song for a movie, RUSH 1991, which is where the footage is from
He's a legend.. Im just starting this I'm already crying.
This song was used in a movie called Rush but it was written for his son who tragically fell from a high rise building and it an amazing song from Eric.
Clapton is considered to be one of the greatest guitar players in rock. I also recommend hearing him and baby face hit song IF I COULD CHANGE THE WORLD.
Clapton was also the singer in Derek And The Dominos. You need to react to the studio version of "Layla" by them. So whatever you do, please just make sure it is the Derek And The Dominos version for some AWESOME ELECTRIC GUITAR and PIANO playing. 🙏
A HEARTFELT SONG THAT MOVES ALL WHO HEARS IT
Saddest song EVER! Eric Clapton, Slow Hand, great guitarist! Very personal touching song.
White room by Cream that you reviewed . Eric Clapton was the lead guitarist of Cream. The 3 members of Cream were considered the Cream of the musicians hence the name of the Band.
If you want to here one of Eric Clapton's other master pieces check out "Layla" by Derek and the Dominoes or "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream
You’re right, Lex. This "voice” is different, and a fitting occasion for it. ❤️🩹
I first heard this song in the car with my mom when I was only 7 or 8. I felt the emotions in the music and asked what it was about. She told me, and I cried for the next 5 minutes 😂😂😂 First time I ever cried over a song
The whole album is amazing .
Video seems like it’s for soundtrack of movie. I love his voice in this, it’s so soft and solemn, conveys his message well. Great reaction guys 🙋🏻♀️🙌🏼👍🏼👏🏼💜🇨🇦
The song was written for his son that passed away. The images were from a movie that used the song.
