I think I enjoy your channel so much because it is real. Nobody’s life is always perfect , we all have ups and downs ,and the fact that you share the ups and downs makes it a channel that I can relate to. My studio looks like a big mess too and I already decided that I was going to start going through it slowly and getting it where I needed to be. Like you said, I had this idea of what I wanted it to look like and I had to get over that because I needed the space to store not to decorate. It will take some time because like you, I have a lot of stuff that I’m not using that I want to sell online or at a Yard sale or gift to friends but I need to go through it. I love step by step organising/ decluttering. I feel like I've been buried for the past 5 years but now I'm sprouting and I've started upstairs, small steps to make our house the place I feel calm and inspired. I've given myself the year to go through my house, room by room. And maybe next year the garden and the year after painting the house. And by that time a decluttering will be needed again! It is a process and I'm coming to enjoy it more and more. Your plant babies are amazing! I'd put up a shelf for them above the day bed, but that's me. As a fellow procrastinator I have a little advice: tidy up at the end of each day. It gladdens my heart when I get in the kitchen in the morning to an EMPTY sink! At the end of a creative session, I like to put everything back in its alloted space then next day it's ready for more. Thought I'd share as I've been watching you tidy up a few times!!

Every time I left from a visit with my grandma she used to kiss me and give me a big hug and tell me to be good to myself. As a child I thought that was a funny thing to say. I'm glad you were able to "win". I'm so jammed up. I feel like I've been psychically paralyzed since around 2016, when my stress got so bad that I've had to hide with my head in the internet to keep from losing my shit. Before that, I had been "shopping for entertainment", to get out of the house. I finally reached the point that I knew I had to stop bringing "beautiful things" home. Then my house got worse due to a needed renovation that I haven't put back in order. I'm not in a spot to worry about aesthetics, I really need some serious basic cleaning. Real is real, real is good. Your channel is so valuable, beyond watching and learning from your artistic process.
I personally think your studio is amazingly esthetic!!! 😍Online studio spaces are more staged sets, not at all real life working artist spaces. So I love your creative space.... all the workable surfaces, tools, unique areas. ❤❤❤❤❤❤But yes, even in my sewing studio a good tidy and reorganize ALWAYS feels wonderful. 😊
I think it is good that you keep things real and express how your feeling. There will be days were we are not going to have a good day. Organizing stuff is never easy to do but once done, it feels good to clear up the clutter and have more space. I love how you have your plants in there. Always good to de-clutter. ❤

I know how you feel about having a clean up. I make jewelry and journals, and lots of other crafts, when the mood strikes me. Before each project , I lay out all the things I need and then begin, once it's done, I have to clean up before I can do something else. It's too overwhelming to me, to work around the clutter. I need to go through my stuff and sort it out also, what I don't use and I need to get rid of, etc. It is a process indeed! I too am sensitive to light, sound, spaces. I really like that you are authentic. Thank you. The aesthetic "Instagram Perfect Workspace Award Area" is just not realistic. I've struggled with that myself. I've figured out ways to cover with curtains or drawers or doors, because sometimes, I just need clear space. But having a creative space with works in progress is not going to look unused. And that's OK. Part of the joy of creating is to be inspired by the things you are or might be using, the colors, the textures, etc. The occasional thorough cleanup and reorganization is coming at some point, and I know that, so I can let go and make my artwork. Also, forgive me, but I lived vicariously through you when you ran barefoot in the grass. Becoming wheelchair bound in my thirties has robbed me of that simple pleasure. Of so so many little pleasures.

I love step by step organising/ decluttering. I feel like I've been buried for the past 5 years but now I'm sprouting and I've started upstairs, small steps to make our house the place I feel calm and inspired. I've given myself the year to go through my house, room by room. And maybe next year the garden and the year after painting the house. And by that time a decluttering will be needed again! It is a process and I'm coming to enjoy it more and more.

As a fellow procrastinator I have a little advice: tidy up at the end of each day. It gladdens my heart when I get in the kitchen in the morning to an EMPTY sink! At the end of a creative session, I like to put everything back in its alloted space then next day it's ready for more. Thought I'd share as I've been watching you tidy up a few times!!

The last six months have been a challenge for Me and our family and the support I’ve had from you and the lovely people on your community has made a huge difference. I hope that we have helped you through the rollercoaster of these tricky times. Loved watching you declutter/clean the studio. We are almost done with a epic house/ garden and shed declutter. 4 skips , 100+ bags of rubbish and donations. It’s taken 9 moths to get here but can really see the difference. And I have my Attic craft /art studio back.

I love your videos! There are so many of us that can relate in so many ways. Thank you for reminding us to take it, whatever IT is, as it comes and be gentle to ourselves. Every time I left from a visit with my grandma she used to kiss me and give me a big hug and tell me to be good to myself. As a child I thought that was a funny thing to say. I'm glad you were able to "win". I'm so jammed up. I feel like I've been psychically paralyzed since around 2016, when my stress got so bad that I've had to hide with my head in the internet to keep from losing my shit. Before that, I had been "shopping for entertainment", to get out of the house. I finally reached the point that I knew I had to stop bringing "beautiful things" home. Then my house got worse due to a needed renovation that I haven't put back in order. I'm not in a spot to worry about aesthetics, I really need some serious basic cleaning. Real is real, real is good. Your channel is so valuable, beyond watching and learning from your artistic process.

I think it is good that you keep things real and express how your feeling. There will be days were we are not going to have a good day. Organizing stuff is never easy to do but once done, it feels good to clear up the clutter and have more space. I love how you have your plants in there. Always good to de-clutter. ❤

I’m also telling this to myself right now as I’m autistic and realise I’ve been masking my whole life and I didn’t know who I was.
I know how you feel about having a clean up. I make jewelry and journals, and lots of other crafts, when the mood strikes me. Before each project , I lay out all the things I need and then begin, once it's done, I have to clean up before I can do something else. It's too overwhelming to me, to work around the clutter. I need to go through my stuff and sort it out also, what I don't use and I need to get rid of, etc. It is a process indeed! I too am sensitive to light, sound, spaces. I especially love it when you share your difficulties. It helps me think too and reassess and try and try again. I have only just come back to watching your videos after a break when I lost my dream of painting more and am now tied to a job that leaves me exhausted. I laughed when you talked about being a minimalist, until it comes to arts and crafts stuff! Guilty too! I have also started to go through those things to get rid of the things I don't use or want anymore. I like that you keep your channel real, if it was all bright and shiny all the time, I think I'd get bored with it because then it would just be a performance. Thanks for sharing.
I really like that you are authentic. Thank you. The aesthetic "Instagram Perfect Workspace Award Area" is just not realistic. I've struggled with that myself. I've figured out ways to cover with curtains or drawers or doors, because sometimes, I just need clear space. But having a creative space with works in progress is not going to look unused. And that's OK. Part of the joy of creating is to be inspired by the things you are or might be using, the colors, the textures, etc. The occasional thorough cleanup and reorganization is coming at some point, and I know that, so I can let go and make my artwork. You are a treasure! I just love organizing and sometimes I can get lost in it and then not create!! I don't have art space so it's in and out of a cupboard and that can really be an obstacle to getting to it! I need to schedule in that time to pull it all out, set up, and then how many hours to create and leave time and energy to put all back in the cupboard!
