This video only shows the "W" reverse proof penny. You can see how proof sets are made and packaged in our San Francisco videos here: ruclips.net/video/LZMAY-53a-A/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/BqEDQa0WGf4/видео.html
Bill its a money thing, they cant have to many pf70 out their they must mess them up to make select dealers rich! Thoes are made that way for the adverge joe! Ovious scam the mint has going on
Welp, 1:10 shows why PF70's are so rare. For 1:21 shows so much metal in contact with the cents while they travel. All of this guiding components could've easily been made from materials that wouldn't scratch the surfaces.
Just got our annual Silver Proof set last week, was very Impressed with the Cent!!! But a little strange that it's sent loose in the box. Grant you it's in thin plastic holder, Wish it was in the envelope. 👍
I'm not to concerned about how they handle the free W pennies. You have to remember they are producing hundreds of thousands of these pennies not a small amount. If they had to handle each blank with the most care they wouldn't be able to offer for free. Now, if they only had a limited amount I would care.
Are there any ball-park figures on how many of this year's silver proof sets have been put together and sold so far? For the ones who don't know, the reverse proof cents in this video are being made only for them
Just got one for this year's christmas, and I'd say although the packaging is......... less then decent, but the coin looks well, could have an 68 or higher here, one of the better cared ones.
Good question. According to the specification chart on our catalog site, you can see that proof pennies are 2.5% copper and the balance zinc: catalog.usmint.gov/silver-proof-set-2019-19RH.html
Hello. Since the reverse proof pennies were included in 2019 Silver Proof Sets, you can find the numbers based on cumulative sales here: www.usmint.gov/about/production-sales-figures/cumulative-sales. The most recent figure shows 412,509 sold with the "W" reverse proof penny.
Now we know why they can come out of the mint being less then a ms70 or pf70
b1ffdanger WTH. Why would he do that. lol
I was thinking the exact same thing 😠
amen.....lets fold them in a heap in a towel and shake them around and then a tray for more shaking.......then metal tweezers????!
I love these short US Mint behind the scenes videos, I can watch them all day. I cannot wait to get one for my Collection !!
Thanks! Glad you like the videos.
You know it will be a miracle if any of these Reverse proof cents are graded PF-70. :(
A few that they care for and give to certain dealers! They make certain dealers rich and you the average joe lucky to get pf69
I thought proofs where handled more carefully! No wonder my proof sets arrive with imperfections.

@@USMINT Why are not the 2019-W proof cents made with as much care and packaged as the regular proof sets?

Wow why don’t you take better care so they don’t come all scuffed up?
They don't worth anything, the government loses money in the make of pennys
I cringed at the end!
Handled very roughly!

Unbelievable! The quality control is nonexistent! This is why Im considering never spending my money on US mint products again.
Awesome video! Enjoy your weekend! 💯🙏🙌

Hi there. You can find sales figures on the 2019 Silver Proof Set on our website at www.usmint.gov/about/production-sales-figures/cumulative-sales.
Amazing how they create this penny!!

I do love these reverse proof cents, they are beautiful! I just sent some off to NGC to have graded. I hope I can get a few PF-70 grades! :)
How did that turn out considering how they showed them being handled in the video?
Wish I would have got one.
The famed penny will never go away! It just gets better:0 Put the copper back in and make it worth a little more.
STOP RUINING MY SHINY >:(
are the planchettes the proofs are struck from still 95% copper & 5% tin (bronze) or are they the plated zinc like circulating pennies?
