I have a new MSI 4070TI super and there is no warning in the manual that you cant just use a pig tailed 2 x 8 pin, so your advice to use 2 separate cables probably saved me from ruining something because that's exactly what i was going to do. Thank you so much.

If you know what you are doing and have a very good power supply, you can run it Pigtailed on a 550W power suply. i am doing this with 0 issues. (only do this when you know how much your setup pulls and know what you are doing)
reason you can pigtail is that you only really need to use seperate cables if the card pulls more then 225w (the cables can actually withstand alot more)
see the 4070 for example. that card is 200w and is running off a single 8x pin

Showing this hooked up in a couple of configs to an actual power supply would have been a ++++
    1. Showing two separate PS cables (no pigtails) going in the 12v cable adapter
    2. Showing TWO PIGTAIL cables (not one) going into the the 4070 adapter and showing how NOT TO USE THE PIGTAIL end of either cable
    For the visually challenged. :)

So the 12VHPWR cable is known to fail under load, 4090 12v ports are melting. And it's always a good idea to use two separate 8 pin PCIe lanes if you can because depending on your motherboard the daisy chained solution could melt the cables or cause failures (if it's not a good brand name PSU) and it also depends on the GPU but I would be better safe than sorry.

One end of the power cable would go into the GPU (less power hungry GPUS in the past) while the pigtail end could be extended into the riser power connection. If you did not do any ETH mining or don't know what a Riser board is no worries. But the author of this VID is right. Do not use a PIG TAIL Power cord to power this GPU. .

If you dont believe me, theres full showcases of this card that show it working at almost 100% utilization using less than 220 watts. On older games, this card is as efficient-- if not more efficient-- than even an RTX 3060.
