I did this before and it took the smell out I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the only one do it but thank you so much because it does take the smell out you have to do it at least every 2 months but I do it every month just to be safe thank you
There could be something wrong with your trap. If the trap is off-kilter, sewage gases can escape and enter the drain pipe. That's why there's a trap, to hold water down there and prevent gases from wafting up the pipe (which can be dangerous actually). Does it smell like sewage? If so, that's a P-trap issue. Otherwise, there could be something stuck down there that's rotten. I'd clean out the P-trap if I were you. Takes only a few minutes.
clean out your P-trap (the U-bend pipe underneath). Shut off the water supply, then take it apart by hand (if it's plastic), and use a tray to catch excess water. The trap sometimes contains sludge that can be easily removed. Just run it under your hot water tub spigot. Then replace and turn water back on.
Your drain might not have a p or naini trap. So sewage air is coming out easily from drainage. No if you don't want to break anything use a one way drain filter.
Most sink drains have a trap underneath to stop smells coming back up (the trap works like a u-bend in a toilet). You should be able to remove the trap and clean it out so that it works properly.
It didn’t work in my sink ,I also poured bleach down the drain and also fabric softener and still didn’t work , I bought some tablets from amazon that someone recommended I got two packages with 6 tablets each I’m on my second package and the smell is still there ,don’t know what else to do ,any suggestions?
@@elvinaraposo523 - try using a Washing-Machine Tablet that kills the smell, and cleans the lines. Just do a 15 minute usual EMPTY wash cycle - (no clothes)!

Bathroom sinks also have an overflow drain hidden under the rim, which may need the treatment.
