As someone who has flown combat flight simulators since 3 years old (idk if Finest Hour on a 386 counts as a simulator) there is something about it. I remember my first conscious memory of it. “Rowans Battle of Britain” I swung in behind a JU88. I placed my gunsight on his left engine. And fired. Smoke... then fire. And down he went. I also think you absorbed more from ralfidude than you yourself know. I noticed when you encountered that enemy F-18, as soon as you took your shot you were immediately cranking to the side in probable anticipation for him firing back at you.
Hey Drewski, thanks for making this video. We need all the new players we can get. Once you get into DCS other games can be a bit dull and lack mental challenge. Cheers for taking it up.
The effort you put into your videos is unbelievable. I tend to scroll through videos to watch the highlights, but I just don't want to miss anything you put out.
First ever PvP player kill was the single most thrilling and satisfying thing I've ever done in a video game, especially since it was my Mirage M2000-C that I spent weeks flying in training servers and pve servers, but all that work paid off when I put down an F-15 Eagle, a FAR superior plane to a mirage lol. Can't wait to see some more DCS content drewski, and working with ralphi is gonna give you the best edge you can get.
Welcome to the DCS community! As you expand and grow into further planes, I'd like to recommend the F-14 Tomcat and the Mirage 2000C. The Tomcat is a beast. It's big, fast, shoots huge missiles from one side of a small country to the other, and does not hold your hand. It's a vintage muscle car with wings. If you make a mistake, GROUND. You will become a better pilot by getting good in the Cat. It will grow hair on your chest, and your upper lip. Also, no shit, it has a CASSETTE PLAYER and its own album of Top Gun-inspired original music written for DCS. The Mirage is the polar opposite. It's a slick little plane with highly augmented controls, but without the heavy artillery. To get kills in the Mirage, you've got to out-smart your enemies. Hide from them, deceive them, get close. A successful Mirage pilot brings a knife to a gun fight, and wins. Learning this plane will sharpen your evasion and situational awareness skills to a razor edge. In my opinion, the F-18 flies like a cement truck compared to these two planes. I never really liked the 18.
I JUST found out about this game and thought it would fit right in your wheel house. Super glad you picked it up and look forward to more DCS content from you.
Fantastic video. Only thing I'd like to mention, at 11:30 "F18's don't land on their rear wheels first." This isn't always the case. The f18's gear is designed with high tolerance for landing on carriers, but if you watch non-carier landings, pilots will often flair off the aircraft, and land on the rear wheels well before the nose gear.
Yaaaasss!!! I was just thinking recently about how you asked a while ago what other games would we like to see you playing and making videos of. And I was thinking of commenting on one of your videos now to say do DCS videos, since I forgot to when you made that post! It's all coming together! :D

Tread lightly young one, flight simming is not for the faint of heart, nor the light of coin for that matter. :D Glad to see you here young Drew, enjoy, but try your hardest not to get sucked down into that rabbit hole.
Ralfi and Drewski? O H M Y G O D
That was so cool following your journey, the heart rate pumping ,that thrill at the end of helping the B52.
I am 61 and I love my jets and am on that journey too! Full throttle is the only way guy's& gals . 🤙
After watching the whole video I want to play this game so badly
It's free (1 map, one trainer, and one ground attack). Do it.
Hit me up if you ever need some help. I'm always willing to help some new people get past that initial learning curve.
you did amazing for a newbie. Don't belittle your first kill. It is a great achievement. AI or player doesn't matter. It's all about achieving objectives which you did by protecting that bomber. I also think you absorbed more from ralfidude than you yourself know. I noticed when you encountered that enemy F-18, as soon as you took your shot you were immediately cranking to the side in probable anticipation for him firing back at you.
Wait till he try’s a2g now that’s some fun, also in my taste A10 is a lot more fun than hornet can’t wait to see you fly her
I bet Ralfidude gets asked to teach all the time. Found your channel through him and really rate both your content!
Oh hell yeah! This just makes me more jealous... I'm saving to build a PC then get DCS xD
Yeah pls if you get f18 whatever you do read the manual of the aircraft, atleast the iff section
1. Ok lmao. 2. WTF is that name 😂😂.
@@Obi1-KenBone-Me u also know the pain ahah
Hey Drewski, thanks for making this video. We need all the new players we can get. Once you get into DCS other games can be a bit dull and lack mental challenge. Cheers for taking it up.
John B haha yeah. All other games feel so easy learning after you play dcs
2:14 Microsoft flight simulator has a 1 for 1 recreation of the earth
Doubt it...they still can't decide on what map to use from year to year...
at one point they had only a recreation of hawaii
The effort you put into your videos is unbelievable. I tend to scroll through videos to watch the highlights, but I just don't want to miss anything you put out.
anyone else getting a weird name in notifications?
Yep, i feel you bro
Yup me too
Second time now
ye
First ever PvP player kill was the single most thrilling and satisfying thing I've ever done in a video game, especially since it was my Mirage M2000-C that I spent weeks flying in training servers and pve servers, but all that work paid off when I put down an F-15 Eagle, a FAR superior plane to a mirage lol. Can't wait to see some more DCS content drewski, and working with ralphi is gonna give you the best edge you can get.
"Biggest map in gaming". Oh buddy no.
*laughs in Elite Dangerous*
Fly safe CMDR
o7
This was so good and a huge thank you to the pilots that actually do this in real life to protect us from above we thank you and remain safe
I would genuinely love to watch that 2 hour one on one tutorial that covers the basics
Are u playing with mouse and keyboard or with a joystick?
I JUST found out about this game and thought it would fit right in your wheel house. Super glad you picked it up and look forward to more DCS content from you.
"This probably the biggest videoclip map that has ever existed".
Fsx: Am I a joke to you?
Fantastic video. Only thing I'd like to mention, at 11:30 "F18's don't land on their rear wheels first." This isn't always the case. The f18's gear is designed with high tolerance for landing on carriers, but if you watch non-carier landings, pilots will often flair off the aircraft, and land on the rear wheels well before the nose gear.
if you crash you have to buy the plane again
SHIT

just got a hotas for DCS, and watching you take off for that first time gave me goosebumps, I cannot wait for that first feeling of leaving the ground
Bros jaw is gonna drop if he realizes how big no man’s sky map is
Would love to see more DCS. Glad you enjoyed it.

Yaaaasss!!! I was just thinking recently about how you asked a while ago what other games would we like to see you playing and making videos of. And I was thinking of commenting on one of your videos now to say do DCS videos, since I forgot to when you made that post! It's all coming together! :D
You'll be happy to learn the little bird is currently being developed for DCS
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssss
No one is making the little bird. Onlu helicopters that i know of that are beinh made is Mi-24, Ah-1, OH-58D kiowa, BO-105
ÆÆ æ that what i thought i think they out the AH-1Z on hold tho
So so sorry to burst everyone's bubble but to my knowledge there aren't any little bird variants being developped currently...

Glad you had fun with one of my favorite game, I would like to see more gameplay in the future.
Wow so you had a conversation with an ai b-52 huh? ;)

Ahmed Emad basically
This was an absolute joy to watch. I have pretty much just started DCS and bought the F18 and F16 on sale yesterday not knowing what I’m putting myself through haha. But obviously it’s possible to learn it in small steps on a long path. Loved to watch your experience with this. 👍🏼
Hey drew. Id love to teach you a few things in dcs. Just hit me up :)
Can you teach me?
@@LtDogoop What do you wanna be tought?
