- Jamie Thomas gives us an inside look at what goes on behind the scenes are Slappy Days Collection. Beyond that, Jamie gives us a little tour through the Zero office and warehouse. We get a chance to hear about some of the pieces he has on display, he shares some stories from the years, and tells us where he is at with his life, and how skateboarding fits into it nowadays.
Richie, thanks for caring & sharing this 'other side' of my life in such a thoughtful way. I thought you did an amazing job & I hope we get to work on something else soon.
Zero boards what i rode the most then. I still have my very 1st Zero deck Green smith grind here on my wall, broke, ran over by an SUV way back in '00.. i got it reserved for me by our local shop then coz its raining every day so i cant pick it up at the shop. Then a friend of mine called me telling me he really wanted to buy that board, coz its their only one Smith grind. He cried on me but i didnt gave in.. good times lol.. thanx for the couple of Fan mails u sent me back in the late 90s Chief

Damn even at his 40 hes got one of the best styles that ive seen ever on a board.
When us old folks were growing up, everyone wanted to skate like Jamie or Koston.
Jamie has nothing to prove to anybody these days. The timeline of skate parts speak for themselves. He is a true legend, he built a legacy & open doors for many skaters today. He defines "no limits". Salute to JT, one of the greatest skaters of all time!
This brought back so many memories and is sad in a way. Those days were the greatest days skateboarding will ever see. I'm glad I was part of it. I remember waiting for the latest Jamie Thomas videos to come out on VHS.

I got to meet Jamie Thomas twice! Once in 2004 and the second in 2017, both times I said “I am a huge fan and you are my favorite skateboarder” and I’ll say it again if I’m lucky enough
I've skated dozens of boards and zero has never disappointed. I've had many of days when I was killin it and everything felt effortless. I was always riding a fresh zero those days. I got a board sponsor for a few years but once that was over I got addicted to those white dipped mystery.

I've seen him around recently. I think he's got his shit together. He's got a board company called Pylon with Alex Chalmers. Seems to be doing good now.
All-time fave skater. Whether skating lasts forever or ends this century, Zero is a major part of its beginning, story, attitude, and legendarium. JT was always pushing limits and defined what is possible in street skating.
Can we just also admit they are the best decks made?

BLOODY NOSE DECK (WHITE BACKROUND) WAS THE DECK I WAS RIDING THE DAY MY BALLS DROPPED!... I WAS 12 YEARS OLD WHEN I OLLIED THIS HUGE 12 SET WITH A HAND RAIL DOWN THE CENTER OF IT AT THIS MASSIVE COLLEGE CAMPUS LOOKING MIDDLE SCHOOL IN SCRIPPS VILLAGE SAN DIEGO... HAD THE SMOOTHEST CONCRETE WITH ALL THE RUNWAY ROOM IN THE WORLD.... I STARED AT IT FOR WHAT SEEMED LIKE HRS BUT WAS ONLY LIKE 20 MINS AND MY BROTHER CODY ARNOLD WAS LIKE, "DUDE ARE YOU GONNA DO IT OR NOT? LET'S GO!" THEN THESE 2 GIRLS SAT AT THIS BENCH NEXT TO THE TOP OF THE STAIR SET AND ALL I COULD THINK TO MYSELF WAS "SHIT NOW I GOTTA TRY IT"... I REMEMBER ROLLING UP TO DO IT AND I JUMPED OFF MY DECK AND DOWN THE STAIRS JUST TO GET THE FEEL OF THE FALL AND AS SOON AS MY FEET HIT THE GROUND I WAS LIKE HELL YEAH I CAN DO THIS! ...... I RAN UP THE STEPS GRABBED MY BOARD AND WENT AS FAR BACK AS I COULD GO AND SAID OUT LOUD "THOMAS!" (LIKE PEOPLE SAY KOBE WHEN SHOOTING A PAPER BALL INTO THE TRASH CAN LOL) I CLEARED THAT 12 SET BY 2 STEPS AND LANDED IT BOLTS 1ST TRY (2ND IF YOU COUNT THE JUMP DOWN) .... I NEVER FELT SO JUICED AND ALIVE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE UP UNTIL THAT MOMENT.... THAT WAS THE BIGGEST I HAD EVER GONE IN SKATEBOARDING AT THE TIME AND I FELT LIKE A CHAMP AND THAT WHOLE WEEK OR SO THAT TRIP TO SCRIPPS VILLAGE WAS ALL I COULD TALK ABOUT ...
