4K CABVIEW: Nordic November Sunrise Commuter train

- Опубликовано: 15 май 2024
- After arriving Bergen we now return to Voss experiencing the Nordic November Sunrise with the 6:51am departure. Clouds are moving fast and you can see the mist in the hills and mountains. The weather has been very cloudy and wet for some weeks. In the state of Washington, under a near constant cover of clouds and rain is a town name... Oh, yeah, this is not Forks. And almost forgot, we're making a stop at Seimsgrend on this trip, I was like "whaaaaaaat?", someone really wants to get on here. You'll notice that I reduce the speed significantly before the stop, and this is to make sure that I'm able to stop if someone is waiting for the train.
For me the Sunrise is probably the best part of this job.

I am an asthmatic and when I have difficulty breathing, I tell my wife I need to hop on the Bergen train. I immediately relax and breathe easier. Your videos are very well done and my sincere thank you for sharing your beautiful world!!
😊
When friends ask me what I'm doing, and I reply with "I'm traveling aboard the train from Bergen to Voss", or "I'm riding the Flåm railway again", they wonder how I can do it so many times. Obviously, they haven't seen the videos themselves, nor seen the majesty that is Norway, through changing seasons and weather conditions. I'll never get tired of it. Thanks for doing these videos. 👍🏻👍🏻
Yeaaaah! Thank you for watching ❤️❤️❤️
I remember many years ago people told me that some people can watch the train on TV the whole day. I think that’s nuts but I’m enjoying it now. Imagine watching this on the largest Tv in the world. Though I’m watching it on the phone I still like it. Thank you for sharing
I do that too. Fun to tell them about it.
I do that too. Fun to tell them about it.
Being a railfan, I think it so awesome to see so many homes right along the rail line and the river, what a perfect spot for a house.
Many of these small places ended up as towns due to the rail workers. They moved here, worked here and used their money in the tavernas that popped up. Settled down and lived here for the rest of their lives. Now days these small towns does not have a much of an increase in population.
Same here. I grew up in the countryside but moved into town and wish I could afford to leave. It's wonderful passing all the little towns & villages in these videos... It seems like you'd be able to enjoy the beauty and peace of the countryside while also having efficient public transport right on your doorstep. Not to mention the enjoyment of watching the trains!
Got my cup of coffee, now I'm going to enjoy my train ride with you, you are the best train driver I know, actually you are the only one but you are still the best. Thanks for sharing your beautiful country with us
Hypnotic effect watching the train into the tunnel.
Me: Surely Norway can't get more beautiful
RCG: Hold my akevitt
HAHAHA! ❤️❤️❤️
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
TAKK SKAL DU HA TAKK SKAL DU HA TAKK SKAL DU HA
I absolutely love your gorgeous train rides from the cab eye view perspective.
I am only 12 % Norwegian but I really feel Norway calling me.
I was born and brought up in the snow and miss it.
With your videos I can marvel at the engineering to get a railway through all those mountain tunnels.
I think you said a metre a month was dug. I am guessing before the current boring tunneling machines.
Excellent stuff
Thanks again for feeding my Train, Snow and Norway Addiction 3 in 1
Marvelous
Hey hey hey :)
The constuction was pretty impressive. The Gravhals tunnel between Upsete and Myrdal was the first machine dug tunnel. Well, they used machines to drill the holes for dynamite etc, but later met harder rock types and had to go back to the old way of doing it. It still amazes me that they were able to dig this to the precision they had with no help from lasers, gps etc etc etc
37:33 - the light starting to break in the sky and shining off the wet mountainside. And the morning mist tucked into the crevices further along. So peaceful.
Very clever. Showing off the perfect camera/sensor/lens combo for sparkling colors and clarity at nighttime AND in daytime in one 71 min video! Bravo! No one can do what you do.
You know how to make someone happy! :D ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you! :D
Just after you left Vaksdal, it would be so nice to have that house there overlooking the rail line and the lake, one could watch the trains come and go and have a gorgeous view of the lake as well.
The lake is a fjord, so it's sea water :) and yes, its truly truly pretty.
On night trains it happens in different ways: sometimes you really want to sleep, but other times you won't sleep a wink during the night.
It's so beautifully
Beautyfull as ever. Thanks RailCowGirl.
Thank you so much Paul
I like this railway so much. I previously watched it from Bergen to Oslo on another 1slowtv channel for 8 hours almost completely. This path is very beautiful with varied nature and climate. I also enjoy watching your videos in excellent quality.
Thank you! ❤️ striving to bring you guys the highest quality cab videos, and to justify the share beauty of the nature iwe pass through.
They're excellent!
The tunnels are mesmerizing , what a ride 😎
Love the journey out of the darkness as the new day awakens in the river valleys - not happy with the three long tunnels, but understand why then need to be constructed - a wonderful railway!
your channel is so beautiful. it's amazing to get this unique view of norway's transit. love from nyc!
Thank you :D
Beautiful morning sunrise effects. Love the fog flowing down through the mountains! Reminds me of my morning walk in the West Bank of the cascades in central Oregon. Norway is Uber gorgeous! Thank you for these special vids with various perspectives!
Loving all the amazing and beautiful videos here in Texas! Thanks for your train and video talents.
Thank you very much!
Many tunnels - it's amazing!
Watching this from Argentina, in a total ditch in the ground of a town lol. I can't help to be in constant awe of theese views. The utmost majesti of the nordic scenary it's constantly mesmerizing. Thank you for sharing this.
Beautiful relaxing ride! Thank You!
Glad you enjoyed it!❤️❤️❤️
RCG - your videos continue to supply the bright spots in year 2020 !! Well Done !! 👍
Wow, thanks! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you once again for a fantastic video. We fall more in love with Norway every time we watch one of your videos. Best wishes from Andre and Lola in South Africa.
Hi Andre and Lola, thank you so much for watching :)
Ahoj , srdečne pozdravujem zo Slovenska 😀😀😀😀.

Awesome Video! 46:20 This spot is Beautiful! Love How You block the crossing BTW!!
Thank you cowgirl to provide such a kind of beautiful videos.
Thank you too! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Morning Rush Hour at Seimsgrend! Fantastic video as always, thank you.
YES! I was like "whaaaaaaaaat?" humans at Seimsgrend!" hahaha! ❤️❤️❤️
Now, I'll have to view a map to see where that place is. We used to have a station platform at Rookwood, in Sydney, many years ago, but it is now gone. It was next to a large cemetery ... necropolis (city of the dead) ... Where the funeral trains used to stop in days gone by. Cannot remember anyone getting on here, maybe workers got off!
Thank you RailCowGirl for the invite to preview this video, great work as always. JJ.
Hello @J J 👋
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Loved the Edward/Bella Atmosphere!! Awesome video like always
Glad you enjoyed it!
so beautiful.
Thank you! Cheers! ❤️

Yay! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Another epic video.
Thank you so much ❤️
Nice trip, thank You!
Glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
Many thanks from France !...
Welcome! Merci!
I know for real the line from Oslo to Voss and also the Myrdal Flåm line after having done the travel in 1991. That's just amazing to have now my lunch on the seat of the train's driver. Gratulerer. Farvel.
Around 40 minutes is where things start getting strikingly beautiful.
Just learned that you take these videos yourself. You're a really lucky gal to see all this stuff normally. Yall nords have such amazing landscapes
Thanks, I'm glad you like it!
thank you for making these! you're really helping with my travel withdrawals right now
This trip was special, best regards!
Thank you :D
I liked this ride. Got to see the towns.
Thanks for watching!
Thank u for to share it!
My pleasure! ❤️
Just watching this latest one now in 4K on our TV and it looks great. Made us want to visit Norway even more. It’s so beautiful 🇳🇴😊. Have become addicted to the RCG videos since discovering them about a month ago. They’re now very much part of our relaxation ☺️. Keep up the good work 👍🏼😊
Thank you so much!!
Wow! Amazing! Greetings from Brazil!
Thank you very much! ❤️
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️Hermoso viaje, esperando el proximo 🤗🤗🤗
Woohooo! :D
I’m obsessed!!! I need to come ride that train. I want to live there. ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey, this was the best one yet! Even better for you, I’m not going to write another novel! 🤪 My mother and I will be watching this and chatting over a cup of tea tomorrow! 😊 Best wishes!
Say hello to your mom from me :D
I have always appreciated your great camerawork! ❤️ I have always loved the natural scenery of Norway. What we need is some “ virtual reality glasses” to go with the great train rides! 🍀❤️😊👍🏻
Oh man, imagine if it was possible to have a 360° camera with this insane quality. I would not dare to think of the computer needed to render such videos, but still :D Not to mention the insane file sizes hehehehehehe
@@RailCowGirl ...I agree! ❤️😊👍🏻
Like, congratulations, greetings from Brazil.
Thank you very much! ❤️❤️❤️
I love this!
Yaaay! ❤️
Приветствую вас спасибо супер прогулка.
The new paint decor looks better. More attractive.🌞
Yep, I also think the new livery looks pretty good.
love it !
Awesome scenery at 48:00 - Nice waterfalls etc.
Thank you very much!❤️❤️❤️
This fulfils my dream of exploring foreign country.❤️❤️
Yaaay :D That is the purpose of this video as well :D So glad you liked it :D ❤️❤️❤️
@RailCowGirl Nice Video With The Morning Sun And The Norwegian Landscape, I Enjoyed It As Always.
Thank you very much! ❤️❤️❤️
@@RailCowGirl You're Welcome.
I like the night ones. thanks.
Glad you like them! ❤️
Your videos are so relaxing and captivating..... what's awesome sight is around that next corner??? The rivers, tunnels, mountains, skies... just so much to love.... Thanks for sharing and adding the station details and speeds. Starting to learn the signage! haha
Glad you enjoyed, thank you!
A wonderful video in every way...scenery, camerawork, clarity, colour...just superb. We then watched "4K Cabview City To the Nordic Countryside and were surprised that it was very scenic and colorful but was quite low resolution like from an older camera. All the best and thankyou!
Did you make sure it was set to 4K? :)
@@RailCowGirl yes, as I mentioned in my compliment, your new 4K video was extremely sharp, colourful. Your other video which we're talking about is wonderfully colorful and scenic but is more like the older standard resolution. We are watching them on our LG 43 inch TV and enjoy your work.
Another great video, camera set up is really knocking it out of the park
Yeah, I really love this setup. I know it can get even better withe some adjustments, and still learning all the tips and tricks to make the image mind blowing :D
Beautiful place....
Thanks for visiting
Thank you for the wonderful video!
00:33:29- I was impressed with the beautiful scenery.
I'm curious about what those mountain light people do for living.
Beautiful again lass. Thanks very much. It was also nice to see the new paint livery on the coaches arriving from Oslo. The green looks really smart as opposed to the old red which had become very dated. xxx
Thanks a lot!
awesome.. thanks!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hello👋 @Nico
Great video. Love your channel. Keep up the excellent work!!! Wonderful upload! Keep it up! +thumb up3! +new fan!
RailCowGirl awesome video. 💯😃👍
Thank you very much! ❤️❤️
Wow! Second most famous person in Norway (after RCG)... the passenger who got on at Seimsgrend. I wonder if they know 200,000 subscribers saw them do it?
Hahaha! Putting Seimsgrend on the map! :D
Thank you railcowgirl🌹
❤️❤️❤️
Very nice ride!
Thanks! ❤️
wonderful . i will suoport you 🥳🥳🤩
Thank you so much 👍 ❤️
Absolutely love this journey! 0:34 Arriving *on* track 4
Yaaay! :D
An Autumn Spectacular provided by RCG...🍂
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
That looks so beautiful at Stanghelle with all the boats down on the lake, it looks like a very beautiful community.
Stanghelle is next to a fjord, that's the sea. You should check the map :)
Stanghelle is probably one my favourite approaches the beauty of the fjord and everything.
Your videos are very interesting greetings from argentina
Glad you like them!
We can clearly see the difference in the quality of the camera from your 2018 videos, especially in the tunnels !!!
Oh yes, that you can say, the camera I'm using now is a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera.
@@RailCowGirl It would be necessary to film in NTSC to find the fluidity of the GoPro with the screens at 60Hz base, is this possible, or is it restricted "European"?
Holy cow!
Почти весь путь сквозь тоннели, жестко 🙃
Yes, we have a lot of tunnels here 🤣
Hello everyone , I'm uk , along for the train ride
Hello there! ❤️
под энигму отлично зашло. после того как рассвело красота неописуемая.
That is so true! ❤️
From where I sit, I consider you to be one of the luckiest people in the world, to work in an office with such an awesome view! Sometimes watching these videos makes me sad when I realize the mistake I made not pursuing a similar career.
I hope it can make you less sad that you can join me in these videos? Thank you so much for watching!
Deare Mark_S, i am sick and each night i also went to norway, to look about trains, in norway or Hurtigruten, I like to see this wonderfull videos and I dont have enaugh. I only hope you can understand my english because it is many years ago, that I had need it.
It was nice to see you added additional info line speeds and tunnel lengths. It was also nice that you said which train was arriving at Bergen as your train was leaving the station. It would be nice if you could (if the info is available) also list the different train services as you pass them (I often wonder where a train your passing is coming from and going to).
Thank You! Your work is always appreciated! Where do the trains get painted? (Always a question lol)
The front is painted at Grorud workshop in Oslo, and the rest is just foliage also done at Grorud Workshop. :)
I love how you broke this video in to chapters!
Thank you!
The tunnels are there to protect the train from the outside elements. From rockslides etc. The tunnels are safe :) They are inspected on regular basis :)
When the pandemic is over I'm gonna have to visit Norway and go on one of their train journeys
Don’t forget. I will remind you. Lol
Hopefully it won't be too long until that is possible. Thanks for watching!
Good lord the horn on this thing is a horror movie sound effect.
very nice my new friend
Thank you ❤️
how i wish i could travel on this train... maybe one day...
Hopefully you will some day!
I really like the sound that the system makes at 5:55 I've heard it a couple of times on these journeys . It adds so much to the entire experience. What does it indicate if I may ask?
Driver awareness system called SIFA. If I don't lift my foot and press down again, or don't do any control inputs for a time frame of 50 seconds, the train will make this sound. Just like "hey, you still there?" :p hehehe
Seimsgrend? That's nothing. I'm going traveling next week and will be waiting for your train at the Englewood, Colorado station. LOLOL!
HAHAHAHHAHA!
I always try to guess when the exits for these long tunnels is coming up I nearly always get it wrong no matter how many times I’ve seen you going through the tunnel🤔😢😂
Hehehe :D Those tunnels can be mind bending :D
Love your videos. What is the light source for this video? The tunnel clips are very clear.
No added light, it's all off the train. It's the camera that is the improvement here. It's not a GoPro, you'll find a link to the camera in the description :)
Great video as always. It should read "Night train from Oslo arriving AT track 4". I know. Those damn prepositions! 🙂🙂🙂
Thank you :D Will try to correct that for future videos :D ❤️ Love it when people correct me, it makes me better! ❤️
@@RailCowGirl No, it's not AT, because the train is ON the track. It's arriving ON Track 4
Railcowgirl ... I am currently watching an episode of MIGHTY TRAINS on the Discovery channel and this episode is featuring the Bergen Line and the Flam Line. Also, the Nordland Line north from Trondheim to Boda. (spelling)
If I’m not mistaken, some of the footage from the Bergen line was provided by me :) ❤️
@@RailCowGirl Sweet! ... that's awesome to hear! It was an excellent episode they did and I was all excited because of course, I follow all your videos, so it was that much more meaningful. Thanks again for what you do and for sharing your videos from a part of the world that, unfortunately, I probably will not get to see in person, but your videos make me feel as if I am right there. Take care!
Do you guys receive training for dealing with those long tunnels? Maybe watching on a monitor is different than being there in real life but I find those tunnels hypnotizing. Staring for long periods almost puts you in a trance.
Hey there,
We undergo psychological tests etc before we're approved for training, and these test covers cognitive, attention and problem solving.
@@RailCowGirl those tunnels are exquisite!!😍 Sooooo much work put into them. I'd be scared getting stuck in one of these long tunnels!! Thank you for your beautiful videos.. 😊
Howdy RailCowGirl from Phelps Ky
Howdy @Dennis Adams :)
I'm surprised they allowed those passengers to walk out onto the centre platform until you stoped your train at Evanger. They would not allow that in Ontario Canada. It kind of startled me there for a second.
Hehehe :D no chance of train coming in the second track.
52:58 - Is there a second tunnel under construction next to the Haernes Tunnel?
No :)
Apologies for posting off-topic, but I have a question about Norway I can't find the answer to online. I'm hoping someone on this channel can help. I recently watched a RUclips video (11½ hours!) when, in 2012, the ferry MS Victoria sailed along the Telemark Canal. The whole route was lined with crowds to watch. It seemed like the whole of Southern Norway was there! What made this sailing such an occasion? I'm assuming the Victoria is famous for some historical event?
Thanks in advance 🤗🇬🇧
I did a quick search in Norwegian. Could it be that it was filmed in 2011 at the 150 year anniversary? Or the celebration of MS Victoria 130 year anniversary in 2012? www.kanalbaatene.no/om-m-s-victoria
@@RailCowGirl Thanks for the info RCG. I'll pull up the link on my desktop later to get it translated. Also, thanks for all you do on your channel 😘🇬🇧
Periodical watcher all the way from Canada here 🙂. I was wondering if there is any way to tell what the actual date is on the recordings. Not for any specific reason other than immersion. Hope all is well.
It was recorded on November 3rd this year :D So 10 days ago :)
Is the date posted anywhere so I don't have to bother you each time 🤪. Thank you for the response by the way.
