Thanks to all the support, heathens and else, its much appreciated, and hopefully someday soon Hymir's Kettle will be able to reach over a larger audience. remember this song, amongst a few others, are available for Free download from my soundcloud. Odinic Rite also featured 4 of my tracks on their past 2 compilations Takke Heilsa Middengeard/Miðgarð Thorrin
(1of2) Glad you like it :) I am not sure why you get that vibe, this was meant as a song of spiritual inspiration and legend; anything 'racial' applied to it is done by the listener, not the writer. Someone might say something like this: Anyone can believe anything they wish to,since most ppl agree all things ultimately came from a primal source, one can conclude the connection is wide enough that your 'race' shouldnt rly matter if you are passionately moved by a certain heritage... (cont.)
Thank you for your kind words :) Once I have enough final mixes of Songs complete, Hymir's Kettle will be releasing a full length album, which will be available on Itunes and Amazon, at the least. I will update you personally on such information when it comes to be Hails
@ravenwulf1 Thank you, I am moved by your words. I hope you shall sing the words proudly and with love for the Paths beneath Yggdrasil which the gods guide us o'er. Hails and Luck
takke :) be sure to check out other Hymir's Kettle songs. This song was actually the very first, and the quality and performance only gets better onwards ;)
It's been a time since i discover your song. And i never though about thank you, i was too absorb in it. So, thank you. It's a pleasure to see that the old God of the Norse still got support. I bought your song on Amazon :) Still, i'm wandering, do you practice the old way? Did you found in your country a bunch of friends who still believe the ancient way?
(1) Thank you for your comment and input. but, no, nothing at all "preachy" about this song. I am not an "Odinist", but this song could certainly be seen as the way an "Odinist" may look at his primary-deity. And also I'd like to ask: which part reminds you of choir-music? And what type of choir-music are you referring to? as in baroque-style/Bach, or church music?
(2of2) ..I hear neither in here, personally. Anyways I think this song is mostly popular just for the title alone. Its actually the least-quality track on my channel, and a lot of people get drawn here and get the wrong idea in several ways. But, thank the gods, there are also plenty of people that come around with intelligence to see 1 random song does little justice; and all these good ppl here can even see the good in what I call the bottom-shelf of my production. Heilsa/Velete!
I like the song, a definite download, but I can't help but feel a little folkish in the lyrics, as though only people of a certain ilk are heathen? Oden went to all places among all peoples searching for wisdom, and from all places and all peoples do he and Freyja take warriors into Asgaard. Anyway, the song was beautiful, but why is it cut short? Thanks for posting, may the Gods be with you.
devilspawn 138 The Irish worship different Gods called the Tuatha de Danaan, the people of Danu, the Mother Goddess. Other Gods include Lugh, their chieftain, Brigid, similar to the Greek Athena, Morrigan, a Goddess of war and death, Daghda "the Good God", and Oghma "the honey-tongued." The thing is, according to legend, the Tuatha de Danaan swore an oath to only accept worship from those raised in or assimilated into Gaelic (Irish or Scottish) culture. The rest of us, even if we decided to worship them, they would just ignore.
Then I'd say you're neither looking nor listening where you should. Such a spiritual/elemental entity as a god or else is in ways a part of the fabric of the being- i.e., as 'Odin' -he is the conscious manifestation of certain aspects already inherent within one's person. He is the Wisdom of years' experience, the proficiency of art and poetic composition, the hand of fateful occurence among foes, deliverance of Hope. I'd say its less that he hasnt answered you, than you havnt answered yourself
It depends what you mean by 'use it'. This song is my property - and am happy to help promote people's Spiritualites in any way. PM me if this is a serious comment. Heilsa ;)
I'd hardly construe this as bottom shelf production. As for the "preachy" statement, it's something I can't quite define. I don't know why this gives me flashbacks of church hymns designed to "appease" whatever deity is being sung about. Perhaps its lyrics like "His strength is shown in the light of the Sun" that harken my mind to this. I know this isn't what your music is, but the feeling of being connected to something is not being invoked through it. Again, it's not bad and I'm not hating it.
If u whant Odin to answear u see the sky see the clouds read them also use your sense. Every little thing can have a big meaning. ODIN IS OUR GUIDE ILL DIE FOR ODIN FIGHT IN HIS HONOR AND KILL IN HIS HONOR (not innocent people) AND DIE IN HIS HONOR. LETS HAVE A VIKING SPIRIT
I heard that Odin owns two crows! I saw two crows on the way to school today and my mind quickly went to Odin! :3 Do you think, he was watching over me for some reason? :D
Odin exists outside of us as well, but not in the omnipotent way like Sky Daddy Yawei or Jahovah or whatever its called is like. The gods are both outward and inward manifestations of something that cannot be defined by felt, known and out of reach. I don't dislike this music, but I feel its almost preachy and reminds me of choir music, which I find unsettling considering my adverse hatred towards much of Monotheistic ideologies
you dont understand what i was saying.. you want Odin to answer you, make him, give the gods a reason to notice you! dont sit beside your bed each night and start praying to Odin like a christian would.
It's a war where I'm living in England. Odin, defend Holy England. Let not the blood of my clan be spilt by the Muslim hordes. Banish them from this holy land.
This truly is a worthy song of our beliefs. It gave me pleasant and warm embrace, while I listened to it.
May you have as many likes and shares of this song as there are leaves on the mighty Yggdrasil!

Wes hal to Woden, Thunor, Seaxneat, Frey, and all the Gods. Wes hal to the ancestors and the wights.
Those are the Irish " versions" ( not the right word but, you get what I mean) am I correct?
Anglo-Saxon actually.
Then what are the Irish?
devilspawn 138 The Irish worship different Gods called the Tuatha de Danaan, the people of Danu, the Mother Goddess. Other Gods include Lugh, their chieftain, Brigid, similar to the Greek Athena, Morrigan, a Goddess of war and death, Daghda "the Good God", and Oghma "the honey-tongued."

I'm 99.6 % Irish but, not from Ireland. So I'll stick to the Germanic gods
You are in Midgard.
Hail Odin
I would love to know the chords used for this
Then I'd say you're neither looking nor listening where you should.

Way to make it hella serious lol
Excellent insight though, to say the least.
Lol. Sometimes just got to keep it real
very good song, but, if I might suggest - I think it would sound much better in Icelandic (I assume you are Icelandic by your name)
Where can I download this!?
offliberty.com/
Hello. You can find this album on iTunes, "Journey to Utgard".
:)
Lyrics now in the description!
@allisonbb76 I am honoured :)
@jbgillund :D glad I could offer
Nichole Harding no, because Odin doesn't have two crows. He has two ravens.
Nichole Harding I wouldn't doubt it. Both crows and ravens are corvids. Nearly identical birds.
Odin exists outside of us as well, but not in the omnipotent way like Sky Daddy Yawei or Jahovah or whatever its called is like. Everywhere in Europe...our future seems to be dark....
Great song.... I'm glad the download is free, because I sure as shit wouldn't buy it, knowing that the proceeds go to the Odinic Rite.
you dont understand what i was saying.. you want Odin to answer you, make him, give the gods a reason to notice you!
dont sit beside your bed each night and start praying to Odin like a christian would.
I only wish the lyrics were clearer.
I know, what is it with acoustic folk and having the vocals lower than Jason's bass on " injustice for all" ?
Yeah my ancestors believed it
this is in English
It's a war where I'm living in England. Odin, defend Holy England. Let not the blood of my clan be spilt by the Muslim hordes. Banish them from this holy land.
its as if you expect Odin to be as Jesus or Allah..
Then go cry to jesus the jew
Hail Odin
