Queen of Folkvang
Chooser of the slain
Folkvang is ninth, Freya rules there.
Daily the chosen feast in her hall.
Brisingamen is her necklace of fire
Humanity is her precious gem.
She is the mother of all.
Gullveig Heath, she is hight,
thrice pierced by spears,
thrice burned by fire
yet immortal she lives.
I call her to Black Flame,
mistress of the Black Arts,
to the wicked, she is welcome always
Freya, in hallowed stead I stand and call unto thee.
I come before thee with offering.
On the altar of Folkvang I make sacrifice and the rune of fire I sing.
By Odroerir, by the sacred sap of the earth and the holy salt of the ice-cold sea; a gift always looks for gain.
I work my will and wind the web of wyrd, weaving well my spell.
Of the Brisings I am
In Folkvang I feast
Daily I drink the precious mead,
the first to receive the horn from the goddess.
Sing Fehu into the mead three times and include galdr expressing intent.
FEHU FEHU FEHU
Then proclaim:
By my magic I have changed and charged this holy mead and Freya has filled it with her might! Mead I drink with Freya!
Drink, saving half for the offering, then say
Mead I offer to Freya!
Pour the mead onto the ground saying -
Hail Freya! Hail Freya! Hail Freya!
Now proclaim
Freya!
Daughter of Njord!
Daughter of Nerthus!
Sister of Freyr!
Indweller of my blood!
Thy might flows in my veins!
I choose the things in life that are of the divine and satisfy the highest and best in myself that my mind’s eye be opened and I see the path that leads to victory!
Awaken now Vedrfolnr!
Spread your wings and take flight
