From a perfectly put together 485 hp Godzilla to the white on white like baby powder Slicktop or the perfectly balanced k-miata and now a Civic type R? This man knows no boundaries and it shows. Zinc plated bolts, under the hood decals, radio deletes all in the name of OEM+. I didnt even know period correct was a thing until l watched these videos. Tommy has easily cemented himself as a top content creator in my opinion. Somebody give this man his flowers.

So here are some numbers to argue about; We have “stock” 1996 EK9 weight as 2315-2360lbs, variance is due to the different EK9 sub options and dealer add ons you could get. The “stock” USDM 1995 EH3 has a curb weight of 2360-2491 lbs, again depending on what factory options were selected upon order. As for the engines, the original D16z6 weighs 310-330lbs and the B16a2 was 309-320lbs so they’re about the same there. When it all comes down to it, the EK9 and the Fyeah-Spec EH3 are going to be such a good head to head match up but I think the EK9 will take it.
I used to have an eg hatch CX with a JRSC GSR with type r internals and type r transmission that pulled really hard, really regret getting rid of that one, but now I have a 93 Si hatchback with full Si-R b16a swap that is very similar to the giveaway car. I would say put the JRSC on the ek9 personally, but you probably have other ideas for it

JR chargers on a b16 will probably get you to around 200wheel. That being said I think it needs to go on the ek, cause the open dif of the si is gonna kill the feel
If you're going supercharged, might as well utilize modern tech and op for the kraftwerks kit. More reliable, more power and easier to service if/ when necessary.
The ek9 was never meant to be road fast, but in the right hands on track, could be made to be fast, it handles like nothing else, turns unbelievably and the art of driving the car quick on track is keeping it in that v-tec and that’s where the driver comes in. 😁
if you're gonna do the Jackson Racing supercharger look into intercooling it like youngstatic on yt did recently, LHT has been known to modify the JRSC for a long time too. the IATs go through the roof on a full 1-4 pull. E85 helps and water meth too but it's kinda a hassle. ben can easily modify the manifold with a finned aluminum water tube.

B16b in the Ek9 is pretty much the same motor as the b18c. B16b blocks are the same length as b18c as with the other b16 they are concerned “short blocks”. The Ek9 should do pretty well up against the eg

Ek9 has been my dream track car for about 15 years now but never got the opportunity to own one as in the Uk there going for big big money. So bought the ep3 type R instead
From personal experience it goes . B18c b18 b16b b16a . B18 and b16b are basically dead level . That's drag racing though so tracks will be chassis dependent
Yes supercharge it, you don't need a twin disk, that's overkill. ACT HD PP with a Organic Disk or 6 puck sprung. Hondata is ok, but I would take a Haltech Elite over it any day. I make 600whp in my ITR with a single disk, not sure why they did that to it.
Got mad love for this generation ITR and CTR but people forget what it was like at the time they came out and compare them to modern cars or anything K swapped. And that’s a whole different beast.
i think small turbo for the civic type r, make it look absolutely as stock as possible and almost n/a type power delivery. make it look like it had a turbo from factory and shoot for like 250 wheel i think would be exactly what you want
Good thing about the CTR is that it has an LSD The EG with B16 is an open diff setup. Plus CTR is more powerful and has better gear ratios Both great but if you want top performance at the track I’d go CTR in the current setups

Just wake this car up a little, keep it NA, cams, a ECU tweek, balanced crank and light flywheel. maybe even high comp pistons and E95. The b16b is a great engine
Knowing Tommy though, it's not long before he's modded this EK9. Besides as it is,it's not stock anymore. There's already a slew of Spoon parts on it along with the meaty TE37s. He said in the video he's gonna hurt some feelings soon.

Awesome car Tom. I had seen that car in their driveway a couple times and was drooling over it. I live literally across the street, my house is in the video. They are dynoing cars constantly and it's a good possibility I heard them dynoing that car! They Dyno cars til like midnight sometimes, even on Sundays (Sundays is actually a common day they do dynos). They had a sweet a R35 a few months back (The shops only been open like a year), but it had an ugly green wrap.
I ABSOLUTELY despise the fact that this landlord made my life impossible 6 months ago I had to let go my beautiful k24 dc2 integra , had to take a little hit on it , and this k swapped type r reminds me of it so much !! Tommy is a true honda boy at heart , dont let em fool you :p haha.

The b16b is actually a destroked b18c motor to have a better piston speed ratio .it's a taller b16 engine

The eg is like 2100lbs and the ek9 is around 2400lbs I believe. I had an itr swapped ek and man did that thing rip! Was tons of fun

Agreed. There is another supercharger as well. It came as a factory option and mounts in the front.

Matches the R32 in some top tier trim type of way.
Ktuned coilovers have adjustable 31 or 32 way dampening, I have them on my car really great. Uses little allens on the top of the coils to adjust
The cx Canadian model eg i believe is the lightest of the bunch, si being on the heavier side due to the sunroof option

I’ve got a k swap ek and it’s so reliable and balanced, perfect for track use and done 10k miles since may using it daily
I daily my DC2R and it's fantastic. Lightened flywheel and upgrading the intake are essential tho, really wakes the car up
I say leave the SI alone. It’s super clean how it is and a great starting canvas for someone to do what they want to it.
The jackson supercharger is cool. It heat soaks and doesn't make a ton of power. For 5k just not worth the cost.
Please do lap times of the ctr, itr, and si. Would be cool to see the 3 of em put down some times

You need to read the ek9 Brochure .the whole thing has no seam sealer and it's welded stiff .it's lighter for sure than the eg

An EK9 needs to be BONE stock. Also not sure what that guy is on about, the ITR is a lot faster, at least the JDM iteration is.

Greddy Japan made turbo kits for the CTR it also was paired with an apexi power fc and 550cc injectors and a stage 3 pucked clutch.

If you get the b16 Jackson racing supercharger, don’t under drive it, they work great if you get a complete kit and use the right belt

Dont supercharge the SI. have Brent put a good tune in it, maybe do some good headwork with cams, etc. make it a stout N/A car
Tommy you need to experience a real built turbo Honda, 600+ fwd is insane, my car spins a 23.5” street radial to 100mph but pulls the whole way there
The itr pulls on the ctr go and watch the old Japanese vids the itr because of the slight bigger displacement just barely pulls on the ctr
