That thing where the key needs to be moved or you won't be able to start the bike is a theft protection feature; apparently it makes it harder to clone your key. No idea how it works, but I do think it's a reasonable feature if it really does as it's supposed to do. Good video, appreciated the insight!
Excellent observation regarding the length of the clutch lever. I also use all four fingers. Did not realize they did this change. Might be only for that Trophy trim edition.
@@12masterr Ah thank you. I don’t ride off road, but I’ve seen that some people who do only used the first two fingers for the clutch and brake levers. I learned who to ride from a former motorcycle officer in Seattle, and he was adamant about using all fingers.
After watching this video I think I'm more sure that I will buy the Multistrada. I think that the first generations of a completely new motorcycle have many childhood problems: better to wait a year or two.

The seat is not adjustable, the Triple Black Edition comes with Alloy rims, front calipers are not BMW but Brembo (look at the back of them)...........
@ridingwithmarshall there is no "front adjustment ". Is just a lever under the seat that only adjust the " seat level". In practice is just a prostate massage.
1. BMW GS baseline is a catalog myth, nobody buys it in Germany, as you say in US and likely so in all the countries I pass along, I never saw one since the R100GS. 2. A cráp oh vidge 3. love how they de-narrow the not narrow bike with protectors where you won‘t need them. 4. It has silly covers on the cases mounting points connectors that are lost quickly. 5. It has an oil gauge/cover you can hardly get off with a warm engine without dismantling the side-cover or creating or using a tool for it. 6. Anyone not really serious about long-range solo travel will try to fit his ridiculous phablet into a phone compartment. Yes. Others won‘t even leave their Phone leave their body and they know why. Sorry I‘m just fed up with the morons stopping at motorways to look for their dropped phones and the others complaining it had been stolen, broken, whatever. Use a secondary phone on your bike or none, is my suggestion. Just don‘t f… hit the breaks on the road, when you drop your phone, ignore and continue and turn around next safe spot. Accidents happen you don‘t want to have in your responsibility. 7. Ride the GSA, if you like the suspension, great, if not, drop it for a Wilbers setup for touring, or Touratech for offroad sports kit. 8. There‘s still some stuff not perfect, yet, BMW will treat you with fixes. If you depend on bad BMW service dealers don‘t buy BMW. I know that‘s a proper issue in USA. 9. The most historic adventure bike is built by Royal Enfield, it‘s called 350 Bullet. Travel and Adventure back to the roots and when people had time to locally engage, as they clearly had to, then. 10. Any BMW GS is great, once perfectly serviced, End2End, not a simple exercise to everyone. Finally, it is the bike to get next year when the learnings have been brought into the GS Adventure and subsequently applied to the normal bike., it‘ll evolve to master all others in long-range all terrain touring capability. You want speed-thrill there‘s others, lighter there‘s few 300cc. Automatic, Honda ATDCT19“. US crap finish execution that needs Germany parts from Wunderlich to fix most issues, Harley. To me the american v-strom, nothing more, and not bad at all on that level, just needs that overhaul mentioned. Or as you say, get the Honda, it does all the normal traveller wants. My pref is actally the v85 (of a friend, not ridden yet myself), it‘s a bike with it‘s own, classic and reliable character, that while I like the T7, too, but it‘s way too much tenere, more than I need, and keeps the cost low and isn‘t a monster, like the favorable ST1200ZXE, the GSA, any, The MSV4Rally, … and those other ugly mid-size inline-twins and -triples. I loved to get to ride a HD PA, but that ride killed it off my list, I like the front, I hate all about it that I realized while riding. I even preferred the test-ride experience of the much better designed Energica Experia Touring E-Motorcycle.

There are three different seat options
The seat is not adjustable, the Triple Black Edition comes with Alloy rims, front calipers are not BMW but Brembo (look at the back of them)...........
We adjusted the seat right before I ride it. Only a front adjustment though.

I have the V85TT. I ride it daily. It's just right.
