There is a difference between fertility and birth rate. Fertility is the ability to have children and birth rate is whether people are having children are not despite whether they can or not. There is a distinct difference and they mean very different things

Indeed, although with that said one does directly effect the other. Birth rate needs to be 2.1 minimum to maintain the population. Nearly every European country and the USA are below this.

And I also lived in a basement for 10 years. It created a lot of health issues for me that I didn’t realize affected me until I left.
I struggle just trying to support myself and saving what is needed for housing and retirement. So I completely agree with you that saving for kids, in addition, seems like an impossibility.

I knew this was going to happen. I retired from babysitting to have my own family 27 years ago. The big rage was to give your baby soy formula. They weren't allergic to anything ,mothers were just feeding their baby soy for no reason. When I went to the Farm and Ranch store they told me all the soy had to be taken out of the Sheep's food because they were having fertility problems. And the soy was taken out of the dog food because it was causing horrible skin problems. I would love to see a study on people who were breastfed instead of formula fed. Although I don't know that you could ever do this study because most people say oh yeah I breastfed and they only breastfed for 2 weeks when the baby was born and then switch them to formula. Formula was not created to substitute breast milk it was created to keep babies alive when there was a horrible problem happening .I'm thankful we have formula today but I think it's really being overused. And I do believe there will be consequences.

I have eight. When I had five, people said I was crazy. When my sixth came, they said I had a basketball team, my seventh was.... more than half a dozen. Just had my eighth, and now they are saying to have another cause "what do you have to lose?" I didn't have fertility treatments, and planning my pregnancies was never timely (would have had them 1-2 years apart). Rearing isn't too hard, definitely, not easy. Our lives are 100% dedicated to our kids. Most of our income are for essentials (Costco) and 90% home cooked meals. Kids also prefer home cooked meals as well, so much better on the tummy and also cause we know what goes into the food. We don't depend on the government, own expensive gadgets, or go on expensive trips (we have one TV, in our living room - that's it). I tell those who think I'm crazy that I'm raising my kids to contribute to the economy that will fund their retired income and health care benefits. 😂😅😊❤

Most men today have suboptimal levels of testosterone - a lot less than their fathers or grandfathers had just 30-50 years ago. There are various reasons for this. One factor that is oftentimes neglected is endocrine disruptors in our environment (i.e., xenoestrogens, BPA, phthalates, triclosan, etc.), phytoestrogens in food (i.e., soy, which is in almost all processed foods), and hypothyroidism (subclinical or autoimmune Hashimoto's disease).
To increase testosterone levels naturally and reduce chronic inflammation:
    • Enough daily sunlight.
    • Vitamin D3 (especially during the winter or if you live in a northern climate).
    • Zinc picolinate (20-40 mg per day).
    • Magnesium glycinate/citrate.
    • Resistance training (3-5 times per week for 45-90 minutes max).
    • Adequate neuromuscular recovery (e.g., don't overtrain).
    • Adequate (quality) sleep.
    • More healthy fats (monounsaturated and saturated fats from sources like grass-fed red meat, pasture-raised eggs, fatty fish, organic full-fat dairy, coconut fat, avocados, cocoa butter, certain nuts and seeds, etc.).
    • Increase dietary cholesterol intake through nutrient-dense, whole foods. Cholesterol is the building block of all steroid hormones, including androgens such as testosterone.
    • Manage stress. Do what you have to do to keep it under control (i.e., meditation, yoga, nature walks, relaxing music, massage/reflexology sessions, adaptogenic herbs, etc.).
    • Chronically elevated cortisol levels disrupt the HPT (hypothalamus-pituitary-testicles) axis and deplete your body of the very resources it needs to produce androgens like testosterone and DHT.
    • Eat enough quality calories (not all calories are the same).
    • Avoid large or prolonged caloric deficits.
    • Eat adequate amounts of each macronutrient (e.g., protein, carbs, fats). All of them are important in their own way and serve specific physiological functions.
    Beneficial Supplements:
    • Shilajit
    • Ashwagandha
    • Maca
    • Taurine
    • L-Carnitine (increases androgen receptor density)
    • Creatine
    • Tongkat ali
    • Fadogia agrestis
    • Black ginger
    • Pine pollen (contains natural androgens)
    • Boron (increases free testosterone)
    • DIM (natural anti-estrogen)
"The Testosterone Advantage" by Timotheus Ray is a nice read on male health / hormone optimization.

I became a mother late in life and I agree with everything Dr. Axe has said. My life has completely changed after my son and I would do things a lot differently had I been educated. A major reason women wait to have children until later is so they can build their career and be able to AFFORD them. Raising a child 30+ years ago was cheaper. Now everything is expensive, including daycare (which isn’t available on weekends for parents who also work weekends). It’s not worth doing unless you can afford it. No there is no perfect time to have a baby but there certainly is a better time.

A British physicist named Barrie Tower wrote a paper titled "The Cooking of Humanity" back in 2013, saying that the effects of microwaves on human health by exposing them to various frequencies can sterilize them, particularly, 2.4 gigahertz (GHz). At that time, this was the same frequency used in Western countries for cellphone service. He said: "It's estimated that over two or three generations of exposure, ongoing exposure to the same cellphone radiation that we're using now, we will all be sterile and we will basically die out as a species". And Dr Axe pulled my last comment that I posted. Keep learning folks!

We have been very blessed. We have 9 children, 7 earth side 1 in the womb. I haven't always had the best diet so I count it as a blessing that so far we have only had one miscarriage. We are trying to change your lifestyle and grow and raise most of our own food. I actually feel guilty being pregnant and eating food bought at the grocery store because I feel like I'm playing Russian roulette with my baby. Hoping it won't be too much longer that I have to feed my children toxic food. I'm just praying that their fertility has not been impacted.

The 1st point about women getting pregnant later (5 yrs,, really not a big deal) ... You never mentioned anything about marital stats. I would posit the reason being that decision is being put off till after planning for the family event. Besides men are not as quick to propose, as they once were (for a variety of reasons).
A reasoning woman may decide to wait for marriage 🤔 ... What a concept!
Also, those hormonal interventions in birth control are not the only sourse of hormonal mischief ... See Drs. Seaman's (husband/wife team) book from the '70's called, "Women and the Crisis in Sex Hormones"! Three pages into that book and my birth control pills found their way into the trash!!! Alarming exposé about the bombardment of hormones, especially in our meats, as hormones made livestock put on weight much faster and in excess. At the time the book was written, I was a vegetarian, but it was the practice of the meat industry to stop giving livestock the hormones (a mere 3 days) prior to slaughter, and have it declared "hormone free".
The games that are played in food and pharmaceuticals is a huge culprit in my humble opinion.
