The Donner Arena 2000 is a very versatile multi-effects pedal with an assignable expression pedal. The sounds can be edited directly using the pedals clear touch screen and interface or using a PC or Mac with the USB-C interface or even with a mobile device using Bluetooth.
To demonstrate the sounds and the use of this pedal I create 3 very different sounds using 3 very different guitars from scratch. I will make a clean acoustic sound using a Donner Hush-1 guitar, a clean electric guitar sound using a Fender US special and a screaming lead guitar sound using an Ibanez Jem 7V.
This multi-effects pedal has 150 presets (50 banks x 3 presets), 80 Hi-res amp models, a total of 278 effects, multi-function Ctrl and expression pedals, a drum machine, a looper and much more.
To learn the fingerstyle tune played in this demonstration you will find it in the FREE guitar course, here are the playlists;

Best review I have seen on this pedal. Like that you included the computer screen and phone bluetooth functions, which are often not reviewed. I own a Arena 2000, and am pleased with it for the price.
Me too . . I have been using it for recording with one of my clients. It's so easy to edit and find the sound I want 😊😃
This is perfect review my friend. Especially, making preset chapters are very helpful. Thanks for the effort.
Glad it was helpful! thank you 😊😀
Thank you for another great tutorial. You're the best!
Thanks for watching! much appreciated . . 😊😃
Great review!
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you 😊
Awesome review man i’m thinking about picking one up myself, Thank u!
Thank you, I'm glad the review was helpful 😊😀
very useful, thanks 🙂
Thank you very much 😊😀
I really love your videos and how you teache.
Thank you so much! That's really nice of you 😊😃
How can I download the book?
@@angelaromanoUSA at www.ebooks4guitar.com there's a link on the home page 😊😊
Yup without question he is the best guitar music teacher on the planet, none better IMHO
Great Demo. After the Spark came out so many of these digital devices are coming out. Even inside of guitars like the Lava, LAG and GTRS. Crazy days ahead. I wonder when GPT will be inside our guitars........ Take Care Sir Gareth...
AI is going to cause a lot of changes over the next few years. Up until now everyone has raved about technology improvements but I hear more fear than pleasure with Ai . . . You take care too, especially at work Jack 😊
It looks a great piece of kit . but. Its almost as complicated as learning to play guitar . for me at least . thank you for a great review 👌👌
I'm old so I remember all the digital effects that you spent hours trying to edit just using a couple of buttons, so compared to those this is easy to use . . 😊😃
I'm undecided between Donner Arena 2000 or Nux MG 30 (the price is the same for both)....which is better in terms of versatility and quality?
how would you compair it to the Line 6 Helix & and can you change any of the drum look's ?? im not a teck nut eather looking for a easy way to get some thing to record with getting in to the studio bundal traps mo bill's thank you excelent review
the Arena actually holds up well against the Helix even though it's a fraction of the price. The drum patterns are what they are and can't be edited so to record seriously you'd be better getting a dedicated drum machine. 🤔
Gch-how u doing?-you made incredible shotts~:))
Thank you so much!! I'm well, I hope your doing well too 😊😃
Nice review. I just bought one myself. I bought a Donner guitar also. I’m wondering, did you plug the arena directly into a powered amp and use amp/cabs? They say you can’t do that. If you plug directly you can only use it for pedals. Just checking.
I've tried it on several amps (guitar, bass and acoustic) and they all sound fine with or without the amp/cabs. For best results you have to set the amp to a neutral position to start with (no drive and flat Bass, middle, treble). You can turn the amp/cabs on and off easily to see which you prefer and some banks sound great others not so much. The best results I've had out of it are going through powered studio speakers, because of the stereo effects. 😊
@@guitar-academy
Interesting. Thanks. They all say it’s two power inputs so it muddies it. I’ll try it through a fender champion 30. One last thing. Would Mackie 3’s or 5’s sound good? What power amp to drive them? Thanks.
@@kenblevins3611I would agree to some degree, it depends what amps models you use. Something that would be nice to see in a future version is a globe EQ. The line 6 Helix has one and it's very useful when going between amps, but they are at least twice the price. 🤔
Would this work with synths as well? Picking up a synth soon and hoping to find an all in one unit for effects
The bluetooth can play music or just for confoguration?
Unfortunately the bluetooth is just so you can edit the patches using the mobile app. 🤔
What are the changes made by the firmware update version 1.1.0
Sorry, I have no idea. I have searched everywhere and they don't seem to tell you what they've done. 🤔
I looked at numerous other reviews and they just didn’t give the information needed.
Based on this review alone I just purchased the Donner multi-effects pedal.
I hope you're pleased. I use this one regularly and I really like it 😊😃
@@guitar-academy I’m sure it will be good.
I have so many pedals they all won’t fit on my board. I’m looking to setup another pedal board with the Donner as the center piece.
Again great review you did on this piece.
God bless and have a great Christmas and new year.
@@DennieSparkmanThank you very much and you too, God bless you and give you the best up coming year. 😊
seems like mine doesnt want to connect to pc. i dont know what im doing wrong
Sometimes mine doesn't, but I found if I turn it on whilst connected to the computer then it's recognized . . If it continues, I'd contact Donner support and maybe get a replacement 🤔
No effectss loop is surprising. I can't imagine the non-drive effects sound great into an amp.
No, no effects loop. I've tried it on several amps (guitar, bass and acoustic) and they all sound fine. You have to tweek the amp and arena to get the best results, but I find it sound great clean and dirty. I must admit though IMO it sounds best into a stereo PA or studio speakers because of the stereo effects, but not everyone likes the stereo effects. 🤔
so you have amp and vab simulation on while running the unit into a guitar combo? What shall men expect from this than?
vab? I think you mean cab. Personally I never use guitar combos apart from to do tests, but if you do you can easily turn the amp and cab simulators on and off easily, that's what the foot switches are for. But if you like the sound of amp/cab simulators going through a combo there's nothing wrong with that.
Sorry "cab" of course. Yes, you can run a modeling device thru a combo but for a test I would the device like intended to show the capabilities of the simulation. That's why I'm asking.
@@musicmatti Yes, I put it through a combo at the beginning as proof of concept as I explained in the video. However all the subsequent tests went straight into my mixing desk.
I updated mine and it just won’t turn on it’s just stuck on boot mode. Any suggestions?
Turn it off and then turn it on again whilst holding down the main button (the big button by the screen). The unit will then go into update mode again so you can do the update again. I hope this works for you. 😊
It is in update mode but I don’t see any button to update again on my computer it just says “check version”
@@joaquinarevalodedicatoria5319 just go through as if you're starting from scratch. do the 'check version' and it should allow you to update from there
I will give it a try Thank you so much
Does it have Whammy???😢 I cant find it on mine
No it doesn't have whammy, but it has some near equivalents of effect on the whammy pedal. FXA has pitch, which can then be set to 100% mix and then you can adjust the amount you want the pitch to shift by. 🤔
I just can't get it to work on my PC, my pedal is recognized as audio input/output, but Donner Control never recognizes it :/ Has anyone gotten it to work?
Hopefully it's just the lead. Try a different lead and a different USB socket (just in case). It was recognized straight away on my system. 🤔
I am having the same problem, I tried a few cables and different ports and I couldn’t get it to connect. Please help. Thank you
@@angelhernandez1192Donner have got their own support that can get it up and running for you. I contacted them once with a problem I had and they responded pretty quickly. 🤔
@@angelhernandez1192 i got it working on my laptop, (win11), this time i got the app running and then i connected the device for the first time. Thats how i got it to run, I'm not sure if it is either the OS or the order in which i connected it. My PC is win10 and i connected the device but the app was not running
Thank you so much, your video has helped me with very good information.
How can you tune on stage with out sound? Tune muted on the amp
All effects units mute the sound during tuning. You do it visually with lights so you can easily tune up with out hearing the guitar.
@@guitar-academy thank you, just bought one it was one of my concerns.
@@mxppx ah I see, you'll soon get use to it 😊😊
Black knobs on a black background, not one for speccy four eyes then. Who designed this stuff?
Good point and very valid . . . I have shocking eye sight and I didn't have a problem, but I do prefer to use the software to edit the sounds so I don't have to keep bending down to the effects.
