MLG Doge I don’t own anything with a v8 lol, just turbo 4 bangers. Regardless a WRX or STi has to have at least full bolt ons including equal length headers (so no rumble) to hang with a stock LS2. Subaru’s are expensive to get power out of, not really worth it imo.
James Miller dyno sheets show a harder and earlier torque shove with EL headers due to better exhaust scavenging and much better top end. A fbo stock turbo STi saw a 25 whp gain and a massive 50 wtq gain when the person switched from UEL’s (can’t remember the brand) to killer b EL’s...
@@Euphoria0011 negative. EL has better spool and doesn't cause your engine to run hotter because exhaust pulses are fighting each other. When you smooth out the exhaust flow the whole car works together better and will last longer and of course make more power and spool better.
oil barrel i feel you so much man. uel sounds amazing but after taking a ride in an 800+hp sti I was convinced of the el ways. The car had killer bee holy headers and with an unmuffled exhaust it sounded MEAN. I just picked up a used set off the forums for my car. It wont sound as rumbly cruising around but once i hit boost and the external wastegate opens it should sound just as good (im hoping). Either way it should help open up my powerband so im all in.
El segundo que dice equal no parece equal realmente. El equal bien sintonizado suena mucho más parejo. No debe tener las mismas longitudes los colectores realmente.
Not bashing on four-bangers, but I really want to see unequal headers on a six- or eight-cylinder car, and the only videos I see of unequal headers in a car are of four-cylinder cars.
Guitarfollower22 yeah, they dumped the crappy EJ/UEL headers for a fa20 running EL’s and a twin scroll that can actually make decent power on bolt ons (340 whp to be exact, more then a STi will on bolt ons lol) and is more efficient and more reliable
Lol any 4 cylinder with UEL headers will sound like Subaru. As cool as UEL sounds, I choose EL headers. Better power delivery and more consistent thermal load across each cylinder.
the truth machine - the exhaust sounds COMPLETELY different, trust me. Its pretty easy to tell from the intake noise that the mic is towards the front of the car. It wouldn't surprise me if he taped it to the intake itself. Point being you are hearing the engine noise, not the exhaust. if you know what you are listening for in the video, the difference is there. If you are a noob then it might be a little more subtle because of mic placement.
Unequal for the win for me....but equal dosnt sound too bad too......all I can say very nice subbie sound lol
j moore EL’s make substantially more power and sound more aggressive though, UEL’s sound sluggish and lawn tractor like....
Hard decision. You want better performance or an amazing sound?
Slightly better..
Personally don’t care for the “boxer rumble.” Boosted 5 cylinders sound better, VR6’s sound better, and obviously v8’s sound better....
Why so salty? Subie beat your ls2?

Driveitsideways 1 nOt WoRtH iT v8 iS bEtTeR
i can fall asleep to this shit
Unequal headered Subie sounds the best
But all around worse for the car
Both sounds amazing :D
whenever you check out a subaru headers video they should be retitled to, efficient vs inefficient headers.
We usually don't care still. Can't get over that sound.
Uel has better properties for low end boost as far as I remember. Still didn't keep me from going tomei el

Well, the Subaru rally team didn't seem to have any problems with the uel headers.

EL sounds to me mean power, I love the ule sound but EL means business
totally they sound high performance, makes the engine sound more lively.
Jared Borja yup, sounds more like the real rally cars

Man both sound so good tho

The Naked Argonian the h6 sound like a pordhe
jeff thats because poshe also uses an h6... so duh!
It doesn’t work for 6 cylinder cars
Any gm 3800 engine comes with uel headers and they sound like shit
Lachlan budd they don't sound any worse than the iron duke v6. Or any other gm v6 for that matter
EL sounds the best to me. Has that nasty rasp and sounds like the world rally cars 🤘🏽
Unequal sound better to me I wouldn't go threw the haste to change it
Luke than you obviously have no clue about power :)
great post thank you 👍🏼
They sound. The exact. Freakin. Same. ROFL
My cousin just bought a 2016 WRX. I disappointed how the switched to EL headers. Gonna miss that subi rumble
2016 wrx didn't come with UEL headers lol
newer gen wrxs come with stock ELH now, its only the sti that still comes stock with uels
Straight pipe it, you'll see a difference
The new WRX came with a completely different engine. Only the STI will have a rumble now.

All about gains!!!!!!

Still doesn't sound like a EJ
Nigel Holland ruclips.net/video/uNjCOrRsWVU/видео.html
If that doesn’t sound like a Subaru to you, you’re in denial😂🥴🥴
What are the manufactured names for both?
ULE sounds like it's running on 3 cylinders lol
Sound uel reliability ul performance
Unequal sounds broken, like the engine has a misfire
It sounds like something you know blow head gaskets from a mile away. With EL you actually have to see the car
It's a crappy GM design.
UEL TOP!
What header is on this?
Tomei style Equal Length
Equal for gains
how do you make equel header sound still roumble ?
Boxer engines always have that distinct rumble/howl. The unequal length headers just emphasize it, a lot.
My 2002 subaru impreza RS 2.5L doesnt have a rumble sound at all, (i have EL headers)
Woill2 your ears cant notice a difference. somebody who is accustomed to a wide variety of engines will.
oh okie
Fareez Masran you can't.
Straight cut gears ;) ??!!
Hahahah sounds like a Detroit
unequal for less power
Like 10hp 😄
TTime685 according to a dyno sheet I saw the EL’s made 25 more whp and 50 more wtq on a stock turbo STi...
Driveitsideways 1 ..................
@@sleeper.simulant7327 it is a good gain but i really like the sound from a murica v8
@@sleeper.simulant7327 it depends, mostly higher rev.
Do you need a dyno after installing them??
Subaru rumble vs Honda rattle
rumble
Does this setup pass smog
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Better performance is better but sounds like a fart box
Does the Uel setup pass smog tests
I don’t think so in California or New York.
Fart can. Only people with fart cans are impressed by them.
But you are a fart can yourself 😂
Sound the fucken same
