Been playing this via Namco Museum Archives. I'm used to the arcade version, but this NES version is also great imo. It differs enough to make it interesting, but has the same 'feel' as the arcade version.
“When I was a university student I would play games like Galaxian in the arcades all the time between studying. To eventually end up working at Namco as a programmer after graduating was a dream come true for me! While at Namco, I remember there was someone by the name of Haruhisa Udagawa. He was a very good programmer; he went out and bought a Famicom [NES] and analysed the inside on his own. He made the very first game that Namco released on Famicom, a home conversion of Galaxian. He worked completely on his own and at that point he didn’t receive any kind of technical information from Nintendo, whatsoever. Legend has it that some top executive at Namco took the game and went to Nintendo, and said: ‘This is the game we created. Can we sell it?’ Unlike other developers, Namco didn’t need any technical information from Nintendo, as they had, amazingly, pretty much worked everything out themselves. The Galaxian conversion was of such a high quality that Namco signed an agreement with Nintendo under very different terms and conditions compared to other companies!” -- Professor Yoshihiro Kishimoto (developer)
TAS stands for Tool Asisted Speedrun. I don't know many details, but people who make TASes are trying to achieve literally the best time possible. TASers use special tools to achieve maximum precision in their run, to make it perfect. That's something that regular speedruners can't do. Basically, you can say that TAS is played by computer and regular speedrun by human. That sounds a bit like cheating, but it isn't. TAS is simply a different category, it doesn't compete with speedruns. Of course, if it would, it would be cheating. Also, TASes doesn't always try to complete the game quickly but sometimes can do some crazy, funny stuff instead. This is roughly what I know about TAS. Don't take what I said as 100% correct, I could be wrong somewhere.
This guy has better marksman skills than any "no scope" sniper in a Call of Duty multiplayer match
WTF IS REAL
i used to spend hours in the arcades playing these amazings games.
Nostalgia bateu forte aqui, meu Pai amava esse joguinho.
This NES port of Namco's classic game for the arcades was their first for this console
This guy's aim is unreal! This and Gaplus are so much harder than Galaga, especially with your shots keep going in between the enemies in this one
The bro has taken "I never miss" to a whole new level! :0
I like that oldschool arcade galaxian 1980
This is on a tools assisted level. If this is by hand then holy crap you're next level.

This NES port of Namco's classic game for the arcades was their first for this console, and was a Japan-only release. Go figure.

Namcot?
Namcot is a brand Namco was using back then.
Getsuga Tenshou Oh didn't know that
Actually, Namcot was actually what the Japanese original parent company of Namco was called until the early 1990s, +Getsuga Tenshou.
Several Famicom, Super Famicom and PC Engine Namco Games was under Namcot, which stands for "Namco Home Entertainment"
This FC version sells for $20 or mnore cart only on Ebay, for as simple as it is, and for an arcade game from 1979, it's not worth that price at all.
Hi enjoyed that play though . Do u have any idea how many levels/waves the NES version has please?
This game is good
is possible to have a NES game in a smartTV 4k 65"?
Galaxian is harder than Galaga, yet we have players like THIS!

Hmm. The NES version is a pretty good port compared to the arcade.
But the accuracy of this player is too perfect. Must be cheating.
This guy has more sniper skills than a cod player
So much Galaga
Actually, Galaga was the sequel to this game, +Amonimus, so technically, Galaga is so much Galaxian.
