    Thank you Elli for another great video. Very enjoyable.
    Don’t envy the cold meals and drinks even though it was hot weather. For me, Hot porridge and a cuppa to start the day needed, no matter what time of year. Have experimented using hand warmers to heat noodles and drinks. Bit messy but doable (using a bag within an insulated food bag) Saves lugging a stove and pots. Impressed at Otto negotiating the rocky bits of the trail. You both did well 👍🏻

      Hahaha, it was an interesting experience but I also really missed the hot drinks :)

    Another beautiful episode. Good decision for Otto ❤ The old owner of Otto is so evil to shoot him that he should be punished!! Take care xx

    Good for you to put Otto above everything else! It's so awful when you know your dog is afraid or upset, so it was absolutely the right decision. What a beautiful walk though

    Hi Elli and Otto, what a beautiful trail, my sort of place woods and view's. You are both putting beautiful Germany on the map .
    Totally right decision over stopping for Otto so he can de-stress. But also yourself too as not nice having so much in your head
    Another great interesting video too.
    Take care both 👍🌷

      Thank you so much, Chris :) Hiking the trail was actually a bit of a surprise for me too. It was way more beautiful than I thought it would be.... I guess we tend to underestimate things at our door step that we're familiar with. We often don't see the beauty in them anymore.... So it was great to sort of "rediscover" the area :)

      @@ellihikes to be honest love these sort of trails , because they are not to busy and you see so much and you spend time enjoying nature but also yourself. Take Elli & Otto 🌷

    Ms Elli I thoroughly enjoyed this video😃
    Sad to have to cut it short, but totally agree with Otto’s needs.
    Your care for him warms my heart❤️
    The scenery was beautiful, especially thru the old growth forested area😍
    I cannot compliment enough on how much the cleanliness and well kept the trail was
    The old castle ruins amaze me, that would be so awesome to rest there and try to imagine life as it was then, fascinating to think about it
    Thank you also for telling the history of the areas too
    Gotta give you a thumbs up on the cold soaking, definitely braver than me
    Tortillas and peanut butter to the rescue for me😋😂
    Thank you so very much for another wonderful video Ms Elli😃
    Looking forward to your next adventure
    Until then, take care, keep safe and see you then👍🏻🙏🏻😃😊

      You’re most welcome Ms Elli. I do appreciate your work and effort in making your videos. That was so cool to see some home turf and your taking the time to share your knowledge about the areas. I always enjoy learning about new cultures, countries, lifestyles, cuisine, history, etc.
      Such a beautiful land you call home.
      The overall cleanliness of everywhere you’ve shared amazes me.
      Sadly here in my country it seems like the majority just doesn’t care anymore. Litter, graffiti, vandalism literally everywhere one can go.
      My grandparents taught me from my earliest memories to always, always do ones best to leave no trace. Always take extra trash bags and carry more out than carried in.
      It’s heartbreaking and saddens me greatly to see it over and over again regardless of how many times I return to areas.
      Oops got on a bit of a roll there, my apologies.
      Again I cannot thank you enough for everything.
      Your videos always brighten my days😃
      Take care, keep safe and see ya next go round 👍🏻🙏🏻😃☺️

    Lovely trail, which reminds me of my hikes in W North Carolina, but without the castle-ruins 🙂How noice to have the luxury of fresh water fill up at private house ! I appreciate that you include all details in your videos, good and bad, keeping it real, as it should be.

    Hello Elli and Otto.
    Beautiful Forest with some lovely views. So sad for Otto, such a shame, but at least he seemed to be feeling better at the end.
    So you will be heading back to the UK I reckon soon (Just for a hot coffee) lol

    Interesting video as always 👍Nice to see Otto doing his happy rolling in the grass again 💜 I just wondered; do the wild boars in the forest represent any danger to walkers? Take care 💜

    • @ellihikes
      @ellihikes  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you so much, Elina :) They are very shy and will avoid humans if they hear/smell you. But it can get dangerous if you cross paths with them "accidentally" (if they don't hear you coming), especially if they are females with their youngs and feel threatened. They will protect their youngs and have very sharp teeth...

    What a lovely trail (apart from the gunfire) and great weather, really nice to see, thanks Elli & Otto
    I wonder if you can you train Otto to retrieve the GoPro on walk-past/away shots ? Or maybe he wears the camera on his chest, sits to get the picture, until you call him back ? 😂
    Good call to cut it short - dogs adrenalin/cortisol takes 48 hours to subside
    I guess its the weight of water for 2 days that's the issue, rather than the food ?

    • @ellihikes
      @ellihikes  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much for the nice feedback - really happy that you've enjoyed the video :) Hahaha, that would be so cool if he could do that 😅 I actually thought of mounting the camera on his harness to get his pov here and there for a change of perspective :) Yes, water was definitely more of an issue on the trail, especially since it hadn't rained at all for over 6 weeks before I started the trail :/

    I have a small Staffordshire bull terrier who is terrified of these kinds of sounds. If we go for a walk and hear gunshots from clay shooting or pheasant shooting she will bolt or totally shut down. It's awful and completely ruins a pleasant walk.

    • @ellihikes
      @ellihikes  8 месяцев назад +1

      So true :( It's horrible to see them like that, isn't it :( I'm always afraid that we might hear something when out hiking :/
