Really enjoyed this trip with my mate Rocky, he was great! I'll be getting out on more camps over the coming weeks so watch this space :) Thanks to everyone for your kind words, I'm really glad people are enjoying the content.
Thanks for the video, this looks awesome. I've recently taken to wild camping again in my late 40's-50's on a motorbike (was early 20's when I last did it on mountain bike/walking with a hardy collie) I now however have a lurcher/collie cross and was wondering how to keep her warm when she finally goes out with me. The additional sleeping bag is a brilliant solution. Hope she takes to it.
I'm really glad you enjoy the videos. We are fortunate to have such a great part of the world in our country. I hope you enjoy your trip. All the best, Rich.
If that isn't good for the soul I have no flippin' idea what is. I envy you greatly as my wild camping days are over. Make the most of every opportunity while you are able. Thanks for a lovely video, and that is a great dog too. :)
Thankyou very much, I really appreciate the comment. I absolutely respect that everything is finite so certainly making the most of it with him while I can. Cheers, Rich 😊
I really like how you share your food with Rocky, your great companion. I've seen so many people camping with their dog on these videos, and they don't share the good stuff with them, they stuff their own faces, then give the dog plain kibble. I share any healthy food with my dog.👍
Nice trip !!! You've got a great buddy, Rocky, to join you on your trips !!! I use a smart water bottle cut off at the top to scoop water into my squeeze bag filter. It's very lightweight and works great. Cheers and keep going with these great vids !!
Hey Justin, thanks a lot for taking the time to comment i really appreciate it. Very lucky to have such great company on these trips, will be getting him out more when the weather cools down for sure :) thanks for the tip, definitely something for me to consider! Cheers, Rich.
Superb video clearly put a lot of effort in to the making of the video so thank you for that made a brilliant watch! Love that area in the fells so scenic also love rocky he is a legend! All the best James 🍻
Hey James, thanks so much for the kind words, it really means a lot. It has turned into a really keen hobby of mine and I'm getting to explore places I probably wouldn't usually. This was actually the first time I'd been up this part of the Lakes. Hoping to get out on a lot more trips in the future. Cheers, Rich 👍
This is a beautiful video, mate, a nice easy watch that makes you feel like you're there on the camp with you. Love your dog too! Best hiking and camping partner you can have. Just subbed to check out more of your adventures.
Great video it’s a cracking place to camp up there 👍 could I ask where your padded whippet coat was from I’m looking for something similar for my dog. Thanks
Love this video 🫶 I live in a campervan and love hiking and am considering getting a whippet.. but I worry about their prey drive! Do/did you have problems with your little guy darting off when he sees a rabbit/bird/etc?
Quite the opposite, we have 2 rabbits and they are more or less top dog over him 😅 I appreciate this isn't the norm for this breed and I know recall can be a problem when they see smaller animals.
Wow! So happy to see someone on a trip to the mountains with a whippet. How were his paws? All ok? I have an Italian greyhound. We travel a lot together but I never tried taking her to this kind of terrain.
Great Job man. Well edited video. New Sub from me. 😊 By the way.. I am picking up my new Whippet Lurcher next week. Had a dog for 18 years and I am ready for my next one.
Thanks a lot, i really appreciate that! Congrats on the new addition, Whippets are such an underrated breed. Relaxed and chilled out but love being outside when you take them. Good luck! Cheers, Rich.
Thanks buddy, my first time up there and cant believe what I have been missing. Already planning my next trip up. Hopefully midweek when its a bit quieter near Sprinkling Tarn. Enjoy your trip 👍Cheers, Rich.
Love your video, im looking at going camping with my dog, is the lake district free to camp where ever ? All so what kind of provissions do you take extra for Rocky ?
Cheers matey, really appreciate that! Technically speaking, you aren't free to camp wherever. However, it is generally accepted that as long as you are camping above the first fell wall and out of sight, practising leave no trace, then you will generally be ok. In terms of extra bits i take for Rocky, I have a lightweight sleeping bag along with a little down coat he wears. This, along with a small bag of kibble and 2 pouches of dog meat he normally eats at home. I hope you get out with your dog, its a great experience, and they are a great buddy to have up in the fells :) Cheers, Rich.
It's acceptable as long as you are looking to camp above the first fell wall and being respectful following leave no trace principles. I hope you decide to get out with your dog, its a brilliant experience 👍 Cheers, Rich.
Love this man, those first few shots with your dog are brilliant with nice audio. Loving the clean and natural edit too. Would love for you to check out some of my videos too. Subbed of course. Looking forward to more videos

Good video
Cheers buddy, appreciate it 👍 Rich
Another cracking video, good job. One question though, how often did Rocky look at you like you were mad for walking back for your camera?
Thanks dude! Haha, poor lad was well confused! Normally when he goes for a walk we aren't walking backwards and forwards! Cheers, Rich.

Where is the dog coat from?
I think my wife bought it from Home Bargains 👍 Cheers, Rich
I know you need to do a lot of back and forth with the camera, but does your dog think you are nuts for continually covering the same ground?
He probably covers three times as much ground as I do on these hikes. Hes just happy to be out 😅
Are you allowed to wild camp in the lake District? I want to take my dogs
It's acceptable as long as you are looking to camp above the first fell wall and being respectful following leave no trace principles. I hope you decide to get out with your dog, its a brilliant experience 👍 Cheers,
