I think it will see a reissue sooner or later. The Gold Experience is really the only one that's in doubt for quite some time. As far as I'm aware, all other Prince albums should be free to reissue if/when they feel like it
Thanks for this video! So bizarre that this album has not gotten the proper repress it deserves, it seems the Prince estate has skipped over it for years for some reason... so bizarre. Im glad I watched this video before splurging for an og pressing considering how minimal effort went into the packaging. Thanks!
You're welcome, thank you for watching. The original pressing does sound great but the overall package is just sort of there. I also don't get why the estate has skipped this one but I'm hopeful they'll get around to a reissue.
Such a fascinating character, I'd no idea that the Love symbol predated him actually using it as his name. I don't think I've ever listened to this album in it's entirety, I'll need to give it a blast. I also loved the close ups of the inners despite it's simplicity, it's the first time I've actually noticed so apologies if this has been a regular thing haha!! Great video as always
Yeah, the first time I saw the actual symbol was on this album. He'd used variants on it on a few previous albums, but this was the first time we saw the finished version. Glad you dug the close up pics of the inners. We've got a lot more of that coming in future videos. I've been trying to remember to take good pics of front covers, back covers, gatefolds and inner sleeves for a lot of the upcoming videos
Never ever managed to get into Prince. Years ago (maybe 2003) when I was on a road trip tour around New Zealand in picked up a triple album on cassette to play in my rental car... but that's about it. Oh, and the free album given away by a UK newspaper. Need to maybe check out more of his stuff.
I'm guessing the one you picked up was Emancipation. While I like it a lot, it gets very mixed reviews among Prince fans. This album (Untitled / The Love Symbol) is a REALLY good effort IMO. Just about every genre Prince has recorded is represented on this album.
Crazy, I forgot about the eyes in the lyrics. I had this on CD and I always loved reading through the lyrics. I love Morning Papers, probably my favorite track on the album. Also, look for the baby boom in 9 months or so after you recommended that people listen to Damn You.
This is such an aggressive (in a good way) and creative effort. Even though it's far more ambitious than Diamonds & Pearls, it seems way more focused. I'm hoping this will get reissued soon. Tracks like The Morning Papers and Damn U derseve to heard by far more people
@@87oceanwave wow, that song is usually instantly accessible for a lot of people. If it doesn't hit you personally, there nothing wrong with you of course. Art hits everyone differently :)
I'm aware of the title of the album and I talk about that in the video. For the purposes of the RUclips title and thumbnail it was just easier to use the title many people refer to it as. Hope you enjoy the video tomorrow :)

It’s definitely an album I would love to see get a proper reissue! It’s and incredible album, and one of my favorite Prince albums.

Two years later and we're still waiting for the repressing that will most likely come with a super deluxe
Yeah, with Diamonds And Pearls getting the SDE treatment, I'd love it if they move on to this album next.
love this album!
Same. I think it's REALLY underrated. There's so many classics on it.
