That's great to hear, I was watching this thinking it's a nice option for anyone who ended up with the bad transmitter on their FCX24. Think I might finally be pulling the trigger on brushless!
Another amazing video coming from you just like they're making it too easy for beginners and all of us you are so explain it in a way that makes it super simple to everyone and for that I thank God you are a blessing thank you so much I'll be waiting impatiently for the next videos trust me
Back watching again, just got mine yesterday I didn’t get the Pro I just got the one in the black case. Now I just had to decide which one to put it in.
About time somebody talks about the rubber band thing I try to reprimand all mine but sometimes I'm just too damn busy at the same time though it could really save you a problem cuz if you jerk those wires out and Drive Shaft or something like that that battery could ark out and catch fire
???: Around 10:18- I've noticed the delay between the time you initially pull the trigger and the motor starts spinning, to when the truck starts actually moving (when you are starting out with very light trigger pressure for going super slow). Is that due to all lash in the drive line components being tightened up? Or?? I've seen it on many different peoples builds. Thanks!
Yeah you really notice the slop in the driveline with a super smooth motor like this. You’ll see the motor move a couple rotations before the truck starts to move at all. Sometimes the truck is actually moving though and I can’t even tell by looking at the tires. Only by the motor and driveshafts 😆
Both! Haha! I’m still a big fan of the scx24 transmission with fcx axles but if going stock for stock I definitely have more fun with the fcx and the 2 speed. Then just do a few mods here and there. The cr18p Evo is also really good with the 2 speed. Just not as much available for them yet.
@@2fmrc Though the Furi. Camen is darn tempting. Though still needs a bit of a stretch in the rear. Any thoughts of the controller that comes in the package? It's not an Avitar, so I was curious if the kit one is any good.
Really missed the classic 2fm drag race in this one! Would love to see how it compares in speed to the fcx with the high speed motor or comparable motor, and to the brushless scx transmission on fcx axles. Planning more of a comp build with fcx axles but love speed, and this would help make my decision on what combo to run. Edit: I did just see the video broco vs other fcx’s which I can get a good idea off and watch other videos next to the scx trans/fcx axle combo. Would still love a direct comparison though!
@Vod_Villainous Or if you're just ending up with a collection of these transmitters, would be nice to know FMS may be including one that works with standard ANT receivers as opposed to say Horizon who got a custom monkey'd FS ANT radio that only operates in the frequency range of their neutered 2-in-1. One would still be usable while the other becomes someone else's problem.
Dang. I was hoping for the best for it, lol. That's OK. Hopefully, they sold enough to do an improved version. I'm still hoping they do a mini 2 in 1 system 🤞🤞
Hey, man! Love your vids: Always honest and very in-depth. I have a question: I recently got my first FCX24(After investing heavily into SCX24, all possible upgrades really, incl. Komodo motor etc) and my absolute biggest(and perhaps even only) complaint on the FCX24 is the transmission slop. It is very noticeable how long the brushless micro Komodo has to turn before any power comes to the actual wheels... I haven't taken the FCX24 drivetrain apart at any point, but do you know what can be done about the slop? Which gears are worth upgrading, and to what? Thanks a lot. PD: The slop is terrible, my god, comparable to some of my 1/10th crawlers.
Yeah the slop with any portals at this scale is pretty bad honestly. Paired with the transmission slop it gets rough. I’d say the treal gears are probably best just because they fit better than the fms ones. That’s really the only two I’ve ran. I get by with the plastic stock gears most of the time.
I can't for the life of me bind my transmitter. It wouldn't work with the onw without the switches on top so I bought 1 with switches. Still can't get it. Any tips?
Never mind… just reread the first comment , not understanding it at first because I had no idea there were 2 different transmitters. Of course I got the shit one 😅
Oh wow. Okay so I bought a Max Smasher and a Butcher for my nephew (he's NINETEEN now oh my god where did the time go) and his girlfriend, and he's run the Smasher hard enough to burn up the stock ESC. This is as close to an Easy Button i've ever seen. Quick questions: Is there a way to put a little 'ease in, ease out' into the throttle to minimize driveline jolt if you're a bit stabbity on the trigger? Second: I've got a lot of extra Tamiya ceramic grease from a few semis I've been building. It may not help, but can it hurt putting a bit on the gears when you have the transmission open?
hows it going? this is prolly a dumb question but i just installed this combo and after binding the throttle is control by the wheel and the steering is controlled by the trigger on the remote?
Good evening and thanks again for all your videos. I wanna ask you if ever you would have a link, or the place I should check for the slider file to 3Dprint, the one at 7.00 of your video, I checked on thingiverse but didn't find them. Thanks in advance.
I'd like to have the adapter wires, but I have a spare lizard pro and I was thinking this might be a good project to use the Dumbo x6pm-350 with. I have a micro receiver in the mail so all I need is the motor. You would recommend a micro over a mini?
Are these components sold separately? All I need is the receiver and motor adapter. I already have everything else. I saw that Flysky sells that receiver for $10. Do you think it would bind with the FMS transmitter?
Hey Matt, love the videos! Your videos have been a guide line for me building my fms bronco. I want to know what your thoughts are about the stinger setup on a real heavy chassis? Aluminum chassis, treal steel gears in transmission, portals, and axles. Brass everywhere. chassis has no bind and has almost ate a mofo big block, so I switched back to stock motor. Do you think the stinger setup will be strong enough to push this heavy Chevy?
I haven’t ran anything crazy heavy with it but I have stalled it out a few times in a tight bind. I haven’t had much luck with the big block though so I’d almost think it would run it much better than that. Possibly something like the bam or pancake would probably do well also.
Thank you for the insight! I think I will jump in to the stinger set up. Brushless seems the way to go. but it seems like I have some waiting time to get motor and combo from furitek. I will keep you updated on the heavy Chevy and let you know how it works out. I don’t know how much it weighs but what I can say is it will not matter how much power I throw at this blazer it’s tough. Next time I will build something a little lighter. Thanks again!
Thanks! The one I used actually came out of the fms k10 1/18. There are a few people who 3D print interiors for them now but I still prefer the look of this one. It’s a little harder to get ahold of though. I had to pull my k10 apart and can’t find the dashboard replacement.
It should now come with a 3rd adapter for the lights. Mine didn’t but I mentioned it to them and it looks like it comes with another adapter now. So yes it should work with the lights.
It came out of my k10. I cut it down some to fit. Unfortunately I can’t find the steering wheel & dash to reorder and replace the one I stole from my k10 lol
Mine didn’t come with that transmitter either. I just used it since the receiver from Furitek works with both. So the receiver they give with the kit should work with your original transmitter.
@2fmrc gotcha. So what exact model is that remote? I like the knows on it. I'm also a fan of the small remotes on the micro crawlers for quick video recording with the phone.
Those are just some foam blocks my dad picked up at a yard sale. He found an entire huge bag of them and asked if I could use them for anything. They are perfect for these trucks. They also had several larger ones that work for the 1/10s. Can’t beat the yard sale finds lol
I run that motor right there in my heaviest free giveaways like 700 800 G of my dad can't remember it literally will twist the tires off the rims if you're not careful and I'm not talking about no glue ones I'm talking about beadlock rims it will roll them all the way back around to the other side even with the tire's not be vented
I think their quality control needs improvement. I had a faulty esc AND motor, they replaced the esc with another faulty one, unbelievable i know, started doubting my own ability, they sorted it out in the end, but importing from usa makes it a long process.
Yeah and that kit is absolute trash. Have you seen it run or run one? I’d stick with a good brushed setup before running that thing. The price is a bit steep on this one but whatever you do don’t waste your money on that spektrum lol. I had it preordered and after seeing it in action I canceled. Since then I’ve seen one run and it’s terrible lol
No you have to have a brushless esc with it & that means you need a new transmitter unless you buy this kit and it all works together. The stock esc is the esc & receiver all in one but won’t run brushless motors.
This worked with my stock K5 transmitter without the dip switches and the transmitter shown in the video! Sorry for leaving that out.
That's great to hear, I was watching this thinking it's a nice option for anyone who ended up with the bad transmitter on their FCX24. Think I might finally be pulling the trigger on brushless!
Thanks for the great review. Does that mean I can use the stock transmitter and just swop the ESC and motor? Thanks.
Wow! Furitek nailed the “easy Button” on this.
Love they made an actual kit and we don't have to piece it together in a shopping cart.
This looks like the best value brushless setup to date, awesome video & update, Thanks Matt

Is there a spot on the new receiver to connect the headlights?
Btw… I enjoyed your video of the $150 that I need to send to Furitek so I can own this truck! Thanks
Did you figure out how to get the lights to work ?
Can you get one of these setups to work on the fam lc80 and still use your lights and light bar?
What are you doing for lights
Will this kit work with the first gen controller, the basic one

Very cool, ive yet to go brushless on any of mine think its time.
It was a big statement lol but I'm so thankful for what you do
Just making sure before I order. This will work on the smasher as well correct?
Nice easy install!

Where was this receiver 2 yrs ago? It would be awesome to have a scx24 receiver for brushless swaps!
Could I run rear steer on this receiver?
How do you get the bind to stop blinking after you’ve done this ?
