    From my experience, Ryanair is amazing. Let’s be real here. They’re busses with wings but the pilots are some of the best with a superb safety record. All that and they still have the cheapest ticket price in Europe.

      Gone are the times when an airline is to be considered good because its safety rate is remarkable. Every single European airline, in every single European country, has a remarkable safety record. Nothing special about Ryanair. Their customer service is abysmal - that's what I judge them from.

    • @g7eit

      @@imanuelcaushi4711 customer service starts with the customer. If your approach is absolutely fantastic then the results are absolutely fantastic…. It’s all about people skills. Try to stay positive and polite and you’ll see the “abysmal” change to amazing. Ryanair, the best low cost airline with over a 95% record of getting to the destination on time (they won’t lose your bags neither).

    I am from the states….have flown Ryanair several times while traveling throughout Europe. Actually one of them was Air Malta but still Ryanair with a Maltese crew. All the flights I’ve taken have been great. I would have to say far better than spirit airlines or frontier here in the states…certainly not worse. In all my dealings, the crews were great. Airport staff has been a mixed bag but again, this is not different than any other legacy carrier I’ve flown as well. I love Ryanair. Yes, these ULCCs nickel and dime you to death but my wife and I, as well as my sons, are very low maintenance and could give a flying rats ass if we sit together…and…we travel light. I’m truly impressed by these guys and will continue to use them. People just need to follow the rules.

    Also, Ryanair tries to make disabled passengers pay for an appropriate seat. Tell them that you need a lift into the plane. When you request a lift they cannot charge you for a seat assignment and you will not have to walk to the plane. I have chronic pain, more in my left side. So I need an “A” seat so that another passenger doesn’t hurt me by bumping my left arm. Using the lift, I was the last person to board. The smiling passenger nearest me said, “We are so glad you made it.” Gotta love fellow travellers.

      @@spark_6710 The accessibility standards vary from airline to airline. After you get a ticket, call the airline. Don’t try to email or look up the information on your own. It’s best to speak to someone who might have some compassion as well as knowledge. Also many airlines will NOT help with baggage. So if your mom’s case needs to go in the overhead bin, she will need to ask another passenger to help her. I know this sounds crazy but I’ve been disabled 20 years and still have horrible experiences despite planning correctly. Safe travels to you and your loved ones.

      @usainengland Hello ! Thank you so - much for your reply with all the insights/ tips !! I really appreciate it !! That's too bad that they don't help you !! I know they often refuse to help passengers w/ luggage !! I've flown around 80 flights in my life & I have been declined to get helps with my luggage many times !! But,I thought they'd bend their rules/ policy ( liability )for disabled passengers !! VERY SHOCKING news to me !! Disappointed & appalled ,infact !
      I know the websites ,especially the 3rd parties for hotels etc.put false info often !! But,I thought airlines do more accurately !! ? Man ! Calling them will be a hassle, too ,though ! They put me on hold forever ! Lol. And I'll have to do it locally from Ireland or U.K.,or Europe in my destination country, then .I had an issue of my cellphone/ mobile phone there in U.K. last Sumner! A long story. I should had bought a semi card instead . But,I needed my screenshots .Thank you again ! And sorry to know that you're disabled . I hope things get better/ easier for you & people with mobility issues everywhere in this world !! Some countries do better jobs !! My country Japan ( I have been living in the States for 35 years ,though ! ) was the very 1st country did a lot for disabled people .In the late 70's ,or the beginning of 80's ,we already had automatic doors for toilet strolls for disabled people at train stations/ departmentstores ! And ramps everywhere for business for disabled . Not perfect ,though because we are notorious about having long long steps / stairs at train stations / subway stations !! 😅But,at very least they were already making differences ! It's 21st century now ! I really hope all the places in the world will be accessible & disabled people friendly !!! Hoping you're having a FABULOUS day and evening !! Bloody awful airline, if you can avoid flying with them, do so. I was charged an excess on baggage of 75 euro unfairly, staff wouldn't even speak to me, other than pay the 75 euro or I was not boarding plane. On my return flight, with exact same bag no charge. My seat on return flight had a metal bar protruding into my back, 3 hours of agony. I have never in my life been treated so rudely by staff or a company. Just believe me, pay the extra few quid and travel with a decent airline.

    The airport staff at the Belfast airport are racist. I went to the counter to ask a question about my flight. The clerk ignored me. As soon as a white lady walked up to the desk, she acknowledged her and provided her service. I called her out on her behavior, and of course she didn't like that. She pulled the "I'm pregnant" card "you are upsetting a pregnant lady". Trust me, she was no victim. In fact, I feel sorry for anyone who will have her as a mother. lol Needless to say, she called airport security and had me pulled from my flight. I had to rebook with EasyJet. If you are in Ireland, there is a high chance that you will face racism, in general. However, I would expect more from people who opt to work with the public. Avoid them!

    • @kennyross88
      @kennyross88 5 месяцев назад +1

      From what I have heard about planes, the safest way to land the 737 is with a fairly hard landing (perfectly safe and the way Boeing say it should be done) it also insures the aircraft “sticks” first time and the can get speed brakes (spoiler part that pops out the wing) as soon as you land and get the reverse thrusters on. So they can exit the runway faster and get to the terminal.

    Very accurate assessment of Ryanair. 6 out of 10 is a score I agree with. If you don’t have much luggage, can cope with the discomfort, and willing to arrive 50km away from major cities, then it is a pretty good service.
    I rarely fly, but when I do, it is the journey to and from the airport and the frequency of service which helps me decide who I fly with. Bristol airport is the closest airport to me. It is served by low-cost airlines, but the cost of local transport is so stupidly high. The flights aren’t that frequent, so you may end up staying an extra night in your destination, which adds to the cost.

    • @JackRoaming
      @JackRoaming  Год назад +2

      Thanks! These days, Ryanair also flies to major airports - see Porto and Lisbon, Madrid Barajas, Barcelona El Prat, Milano Malpensa and so on. That certainly makes a difference. 10 years ago they didn't fly to those airports and they didn't fly to Luxembourg either.

    YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR , RIGHT ?... NOT REALLY
    Before I expound on the specific incident, some context: I am a regular traveler with Ryanair, not because I like them, but because since the pandemic there is no other airline to my knowledge regularly connecting Malaga to Marrakech directly.
    The flight I was supposed to board was due to leave on 1 May at 8 AM. To my dismay, at 7 AM that morning, while inside the boarding lounge, the boarding screen indicated that the new departure flight was estimated 3 PM, some 8 hours later. We are talking about a 1 hour and fifteen minutes flight. By the time 2 PM arrived I felt like I knew the airport so well I could write a book about it.
    When presenting myself at the boarding gate, the plane was still not ready to take off. Luckily enough (for me) there was another Ryanair flight due to leave at 15H05 that I could board and finally leave. The passengers on the flight initially booked at 8 AM rightfully charged the boarding of the other flight demanding that they should be boarded. Some argued that they were missing their connecting flights, others all their hotel bookings. The shouting, the threats and slammed doors made it that the flight was delayed by at least 1 hour and a half, so we finally left at around 5 PM. In the confusion and ensuing clamor, the police had to intervene as the whole scene and clamor attracted the attention of a good part of the airport’s passengers.
    I can’t imagine what the Ryanair staff had to go through with dozens of edgy flyers insulting them and occasionally forcing the entrance. This lasted for a good hour and a half. Ironically, I later got a message from Ryanair that they were working on the plane and that the new estimated time of departure was now 19H00, meaning a good 11 hours delay. To this day, I don’ know what became of that flight or of the passengers on it.
    Now, I know that no one expects the best from a low cost airlines. Tickets for a seat sell from 20 euros and sometimes less. Slight delays, frustrated stewardesses or limited knee space is part of the trade off. But this just adds a whole new dimension to it. Leaving your passengers stranded for more than 11 hours ( some with babies, some past a certain age), without no one to communicate with them during that time is really demeaning them. Unlike some of those passengers that chose to voice their dismay by calling them a s**t airline, I believe recounting exactly what happened will make flyers make better choices in the future.

    I travel to Porto from Manchester airport a couple of times per year. The only options i have are Ryanair and Easyjet. I pick whoever is flying in the late afternoon/evening i hate early morning flights because i have to travel the day before and stay in an expensive airport hotel for just a few hours its not worth the money. I've mostly travelled with Ryanair. They are hit and miss. This year they were on time but they were late twice last year more that 3 hours late. I fly back to the uk with tap portugal and I've always had a good experience with them. I also hate Manchester airport. Its always manic and a stressful experience. The worst airport I've been to. Unfortunately my local airport doesn't fly to Porto.

    I just took RyanAir from Greece to Germany. I paid extra for seat selection and a checked bag (wrist injury so cannot lift cabin bag.). In total came to just 150euros rt, whichmis less than half of what I paid on other carriers. The flights were excellent and ontime. In both flights people tried to claim my seat or create havoc by switching seats. The cabin staff was professional and polite as they settled everyone down. One landing wasn't perfectly smooth, but I've had worse. My bag was out within 10 minutes. I thought that the entire experience was fine and great value. Oh yes, the flight schedule times were excellent, easy to arrange airport transportation. I did buy a special RyanAir underseat backpack 40x25x20 😂 And carefully weighed my suitcase so that I did not have any problems.

    Ryanair is poor value for money when you consider the add on fees for iust about anything. Ryanair pushes you to check in online. Online check in only lets you check in if you select a seat at a cost. Even the smallest bag costs a fee to take on board. Then consider the expensive cost of travel from remote airports to your actual destinations.
    Low cost is an illusion.
