I have used Egypt Air multiple times. Flying from USA to Cairo , flight time, more than 11 or 12 hours. Plus flights from Cairo to Luxor, EXCELLENT customer service, and never had issues!!!
Egyptair is a really good company, I have used It a lot for all my transportation between different Arabian countries and Egypt. It was known that Egyptian pilots are the best allover the world
Compared to Lufthansa that serve only snacks for short-haul flights, EgyptAir catering is good I think. Also they are usually more flexible with overweight baggage. The cabin crew and pilots are professional. And above all their prices are good.
Unfortunately, most of the foreign tourists who come to Egypt is poor..they cannot travel to Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, or Paris because two thousand dollars in these cities will not be enough for two or three days, but in Egypt it is enough for an entire month. example, Uber travels 220 kilometers from Cairo to Alexandria for about only $20 and a good, air-conditioned car, but a trip like this in America costs $500...and despite all these services, they do not thank these poor tourists. Egypt 😢
I regularly fly with Egyptair as a foreigner living in Egypt, with different destinations in Europe. You have been particularly unlucky, as I almost never encountered your issues on the ground except at Malpensa airport in Milan. The greatest advantage with Egyptair is their baggage allowance, which is way higher than most airlines. Yes, delays are an issue, but mostly due to ground problems. I had such in Geneva, but none in Zurich or Frankfurt. I travel both economy and business. Cabin crew always very friendly and helpful. Food always good. Cairo airport is not bad, and shuttle service between terminals is efficient. I am surprised you had such bad luck at security checks. I had such an issue in Dubai of all places, which otherwise is a good airport.
It's a lot better than all European airlines. which they offer you nothing to eat or drink, and no one of them has an entertainment screen attached!! DISGRACE
Egypt Air fares are almost half of Emirates, Etihad and Qatar, unfair comparison, delays at departure are out of their control and usually compensated for at landing .. not bad at all for a budget airline
EgyptAir is a good company and is safe due to the conditions in the surrounding countries. Its ticket is less than Qatar and Emirates planes. remember this

Honest, fair, and balanced! Superb airline review once again. Haven't flown EgyptAir yet but you are 100% right when it comes to Cairo Airport. I flew out of there last year and it was indeed a disaster. Security took almost 2 hours and I got asked for a bribe twice by airport staff.

I’m an Egyptian myself who used to live in Kuwait and used to take EgyptAir lol By the way, if I become the CEO of EgyptAir myself, I would renovate the interiors of the old fleet like Boeing 777 and Airbus 330. I would get rid of many of old Boeing 737’s and make them fully replaced by the A320 NEOS. Their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is actually ok but I took it from Dubai to Cairo and the cabin is already starting to be affected. Some of it was damaged, a pocket on the bottom right of the seat in front of me was dirty and refused to put anything on it. If EgyptAir wants their old fleet to symbolize their improvement, they should not neglect it. They also ordered A350’s and I’m hopeful that it will have modern features which will enhance the airlines improvement. Finally, as for the food, no EgyptAir falls behind on that specific scenario. The food was not cooked well, not enough to satisfy my hunger needs and limited options are available. EgyptAir is a dry airlines but that doesn’t mean they should have a Boeing menu, they should add non-alcoholic wines and other drinks like iced latte or cappuccino.
good point. However, it's not healthy for a growing airline to have a mixed fleet or comparable Boeing and Airbus at the same time like MS is doing. Reasons: 1. Different and incompatable crew training and qualificans 2. Different maintenance training. 3. Different spare part sourcing. These all lead to unneceassry cost. 1. MS 777s are are good and could sevrve another 10+years, so updating their interior to their 787 standard is the abvious no branner. 2. The A330-300 may stay on regional routes where neither capacity nor range are neeeded. (Currently replacing them with 787s would be more of a financial burden), When they come out of age MS would anyway convert them to cargo as the older-200s. 3. Purchasing addiditional 787s..(step by step). 4. Believe it or not MS 737-800s would not be considered old and if updated along with the 777s would look and feel as good as new. There's a fleet of 30 strong airframes here. 5. Sell off all the A320s neos or not.. These are the minority and would be eaasiest and cost effective to replace with new 737s. -------------------- Plan B. Is more costly. 1. Replace all the 777s with A350s and adding more in the process. 2. Purchase more A330s(neos) and slowly replacing MS existing 787. 3. Selling off all the 737-800s and replacing them with A320 Neos. Thus ending up with an all Airbus fleet. --------- The reason MS prurchases planes from both manufacturers (and on debt) like a wealthy airline is pretty easy to guess.

One of the oldest airlines iin the world. My mother flew Misrair in 1948 to Lydda and in 1950 to Nicosia, Cyprus. It was a reliable airline. My aunts flew Saide in 1950 to Rome from Cairo with a stop in Alexandria and Athens. Misrair merged with Saide in the early 50s. They operated Italian 3 engine planes.

Actually I just watched a documentary few days ago, and the cause of the accident of the Egyptair that departed from France and ended in the Mediterranean sea, was because the pilot was smoking in the cabinet, also there is another old accident in the Atlantic ocean, also it was because of the mistake of the captain, so I don’t think the personal are professional enough
Till the moment some of tge airlines do not prohibit smoking in the cabinet of the pilots and i do doubt if this is the main cause , all the accidents you won't find either boeing nir airbus declaire their responsibility @@omarnahrain88

I flew Egypt air from Cairo to Amman. A security guy asked for a tip. This happened nearly at every stage. they took my cologne despite it was withn allowed amount. The flight was uncomfortable. The airplane was old and every thing was shaking. People were roaming the aircraft and using their phones and the crew did nothing about it. They served a cold sandwich which was not good.
Flynas , the saudi airline does the same , small cheese sandwich and a 200 ml bottle of water , that was the served meal on a flight from Cairo to Jeddah and if you asked for a cup of tea you have to pay 2 riyals to get it so do us a favor and stop complaining .

You are probably not a native speaker but behind schedule means "late." It is correct exactly the way he said it. Of course, you could also say "after the scheduled departure time." Both are correct.
After 18 years of working in the aviation industry, traveled to + 50 countries/ + 30 US states, with + 25 different airlines. Egyptair is the best meal ever! As an economical airline... service/ planes are acceptable and good.
To my understanding the reason why KWI requires a printed boarding pass is because they passport control will stamp on your boarding pass, not sure why the gate agent will be looking for that stamp when you enter the gate, its a grey area for those transitiing in kwi, seems to be not the issue if operating in terminal 4 as far as i know
It’s the newer planes that have good service and seats and all, but old ones like the a330s and probably some 737s have less better service and comfort

I wouldn’t dispute at all that Egypt air a d Cairo airports both suck. They are both run after all by idiot military officers. However, I wonder if you had anything on the rheee major airports in Europe: Amsterdam Schiphol, London Heathrow, and Frankfurt. I fly regularly in and out of them and they completely suck. They are horribly inefficient and disorganized. And guidance is a disaster. I cringe thinking of an elderly person with some limited dementia or abilities trying to go through any of these shitty airports.
As an Egyptian my self you have been lucky you got the a good data this company is dysfunctional they just bought a 15 malfunction airplane that’s has issues and weren’t safe to fly just to get off one of the big companies until 2016 pilots where allowed to smoke in the cockpit which cause malfunctions in the system which caused a plane crash causing the whole plane die

My aunts flew Saide in 1950 to Rome from Cairo with a stop in Alexandria and Athens. Misrair merged with Saide in the early 50s. They operated Italian 3 engine planes.

Thanks for the video... I regularly fly Egypt Air from FRA to CAI... Honestly Egypt Air is better than Lufthansa... Better food and better aircrafts and flights time but still once I arrive CAI airport... It is a nightmare

Actually I just watched a documentary few days ago, and the cause of the accident of the Egyptair that departed from France and ended in the Mediterranean sea, was because the pilot was smoking in the cabinet, also there is another old accident in the Atlantic ocean, also it was because of the mistake of the captain, so I don’t think the personal are professional enough
Till the moment some of tge airlines do not prohibit smoking in the cabinet of the pilots and i do doubt if this is the main cause , all the accidents you won't find either boeing nir airbus declaire their responsibility @@omarnahrain88

Hey Jack - great review, thank you. I do recall an Egypt Air flight I was on NBO - CAI back in the 80's (old livery} & the captain was entertaining the hostesses in the back row. But to this day Egypt is the still the most amazing place I have ever been to, but that was when Hurghada was a one horse pony town hehe

I flew Egypt air from Cairo to Amman. A security guy asked for a tip. This happened nearly at every stage. they took my cologne despite it was withn allowed amount. The flight was uncomfortable. The airplane was old and every thing was shaking. People were roaming the aircraft and using their phones and the crew did nothing about it. They served a cold sandwich which was not good.
Flynas , the saudi airline does the same , small cheese sandwich and a 200 ml bottle of water , that was the served meal on a flight from Cairo to Jeddah and if you asked for a cup of tea you have to pay 2 riyals to get it so do us a favor and stop complaining .
When most of the staff are selected based on their family connections, not their ability. This is what you end up with. In addition, I think they are not well paid, and this may add to the problems
its not the products or services. Their not so distant past safety records speaks volumes.. So don't take MS unless I really have to..

The flight was due to leave at 4:15 am and eventually took off at 4:55. You pointed out that the flight was 40 minutes behind schedule? I guess that being "behind the schedule" would mean in advance of schedule but your flight took off late. To be square, it was 40 minutes after the scheduled departure time!

To my understanding the reason why KWI requires a printed boarding pass is because they passport control will stamp on your boarding pass, not sure why the gate agent will be looking for that stamp when you enter the gate, its a grey area for those transitiing in kwi, seems to be not the issue if operating in terminal 4 as far as i know

the big problem for egyptair is the cabin crew if you ask for something they feel its there food and im taking from there share

I flew Saudia 20 years ago and it was terrible. I recently flew with them again and it was really great. So they improved.

I wouldn’t dispute at all that Egypt air a d Cairo airports both suck. They are both run after all by idiot military officers. However, I wonder if you had anything on the rheee major airports in Europe: Amsterdam Schiphol, London Heathrow, and Frankfurt. I fly regularly in and out of them and they completely suck. They are horribly inefficient and disorganized. And guidance is a disaster. I cringe thinking of an elderly person with some limited dementia or abilities trying to go through any of these shitty airports.
Now their prices rival Qatar airways 😂 especially for Cairo to Jakarta, they now use etihad airways after a recent deal between them
As an Egyptian my self you have been lucky you got the a good data this company is dysfunctional they just bought a 15 malfunction airplane that’s has issues and weren’t safe to fly just to get off one of the big companies until 2016 pilots where allowed to smoke in the cockpit which cause malfunctions in the system which caused a plane crash causing the whole plane die

No desire to ever go to Egypt... all I have heard is negative things. Authorities try and bribe foreigners and make it so difficult compared to other countries.
Yeah, unfortunately, corruption is a major problem there but it is a spectacular country nonetheless.
