    Grew up playing baseball. Today went to the range, pretty much sucked, over thinking and playing frozen. Last 12 balls said what the hell give it a full on trial. Setup, aimed and then full out baseball waggle for 15 seconds and thought smooth swing. 12 in a row with 7 carried 170 and dispersion within 15’ as they landed exactly between two objects I was aiming at. So pure, hardly any divot and totally effortless swing. Huge, Huge thanks!

      Very good. I am just trying to get people to try something new. It's truly mind boggling that people insist on swing as they always have. You tried it and you see how powerful being loose is. It's just a different way to do it. Now you see you can do it you whole focus should be on staying loose forever. I think you are convinced now. Plus, the beauty of it is that you have a swing for life once you get it. You are on your way. Great job.

      @@paulwilsongolf No doubt, I have already shared your philosophy with 4 others. So much focus on technical we end up freezing ourselves, swing sucks, results suck and we hurt. After not playing golf for 15 years picked it back up this year and at 49 I have injured myself twice this year. I can still hit it a mile, but my body cannot tolerate my old swing. With your swing philosophy I gave up 10 yards carry w my 7 but it went perfectly straight and same distance 12 out of 12 and NO pain. I describe your technique as a spiritual way of teaching golf, you are like a golf guru.

Honestly I had the body rotation down from day 1 but I was struggling with the grip until I took it down into my fingers and less in the palm. It was like a lightbulb! When people say that I explain that your grip is not your grip your wrists are not your wrists. It's a unit that hinges and rehinges. In order for it to do that it needs to be neutral. So see it that way and you will want to change it. Strong grip loose wrists equals massive hooks.

      This is one of the reasons I keep associating baseball to golf. I know a lot of people have done it so they should be able to apply it to golf. Why it works so well is in baseball the ball is coming at you so you already know the best way to return it. In golf it's stationary so human nature is telling you to hit the object sitting in front of you. If you just apply the baseball swing to golf you are well on your way.
      Glad you are going to work on it in the winter. This is the best time to practice. If you don't have my Body Swing videos (which I show the positions you need to be doing) then keep it simple. You have hinging and rehinging. I would be doing this daily to keep the wrists loose:
      ruclips.net/video/6ZeTqcz2pmE/видео.html
      ruclips.net/video/7olBqwXF3Ik/видео.html
      ruclips.net/video/M868QsTlGt4/видео.html
      ruclips.net/video/URlX7BBFohc/видео.html

    It is better to have one mediocre instructor than 10 brilliant ones. All the great golfers such as Jack Nicholas know this and have only had one instructor. The sooner you admit to yourself that will never work they you will not want to use them. Because people see some good ones they keep thinking it is working. It is luck. If I feed you enough balls you will hit some good ones with just the arms. So you think you've got it when really you don't. You need to hit most all of them good. To do that you cannot be hitting with the arms. So turn them off. Do this drill until mastered. At that point you start firing your lower body for more distance:

    I am just a beginner. But I went out to the range twice this past week and I'm not getting any real distance with my wedge, 9 or 7 irons. Seems I can't get beyond a hundred yards with any of them. I do my best to implement your teachings and I do get decent ball strikes, but I know i must be doing something wrong.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  Год назад

      Well, you're a beginner. It takes a little time to get it. You need to keep working on the hinge and rehinge. This is where you get the release that gives you lots of power. Then this arm unit is connected to your body which is coiling and uncoiling. As you are working on this stuff you should be feeling your arms making the release happen. As you get more experience you would then loosen up. You are probably trying to be too loose so the club isn't releasing. So follow the drills below. Purposely make it release. Don't worry about direction just now. Let get the distance first.

      When I'm practicing at home against the net, I feel more stable and my strikes feel more pure. But it feels different on the range and the course, like I lose so much of that control. I also assume I could be unknowingly overthinking it on the range. I am trying to get my time and money's worth in ball buckets after all. 😆
      But I appreciate this list of tips to watch. I'm going to put them in a new playlist entitled PWG Starter Tips.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  Год назад

      Well, some people just a get a little sloppy and floppy sometimes. They let go of the club. Their arms are not in synch with their body etc. At the range do 3 practice swings for 1 ball. This way you are repeating what you are working on. Hitting ball after ball will not work so use your time wisely. It's about the movement. Get the movement ... you get the ball.

    • @ghostwryteranonymous4910
      @ghostwryteranonymous4910 Год назад +1

      Well, I have great news. I got to immediately focusing and studying your tips on club release.
      The very next day after you sent me the vids, I started practicing and got the feeling of the snap you emphasized on. It seemed like I caught on quickly because I used to play baseball years ago, and it's the exact same feel when snapping the bat swing. They had us practicing with spring loaded bats to get the snap affect.
      So, I started adjusting my swing and found that snap at the low point of my club swing. You feel it right after you hit the ball and it whipped the club naturally around the back of my neck. Honestly, it felt a bit startling.
      After a few days in the backyard, I took it to the range Saturday and tried it out. My first few hits weren't exactly the best, but I immediately saw several more yards distance on my irons, and the swing felt more powerful and comfortable at the same time.
      I decided then to just go for it. I did 18 holes on the course and just went easy, not caring so much about my scores and not trying to kill the ball. And by the time I got to the 18th hole... I finally made my first par ever! I didn't even realize it until I recounted those shots. A par 4.
      I tee'd off with my 5 wood and landed it just at the mouth of the tree opening where the fairway turns 90° left. I was about 120 yards to the pin and chose my 7 iron, deciding I was just going to just have fun and try to get there in two strokes. I made a nice easy swing, felt that snap release, and the ball just launched on me. It landed just in front of the green, about a 110 yard volley dead straight. I was surprised!
      From there, I chipped it onto the green about 1 yard from the hole and put it away in one putt. My first par!
      You truly are a master of your craft, in my opinion. I recommended your channel to a young new golfer who was there with his fiance, hitting up golf courses along their cross country travels from Wisconsin down to Galveston. We joined up and played the back 9 together, so they got to witness it. I hope he takes my advice and checks out your vids.
      Things are looking good, Paul!

    Could one of the contributing reasons for hitting with the arms be the thought that it’s necessary to do so in order to make sure we hit that little golf ball. Because hitting with arms might seem to guarantee that we will hit it albeit the hit itself is all wrong. Whereas if we are loose maybe there’s the tendency to think it’s all out of control and we won’t hit the ball or if we do it won’t be clean solid contact. Maybe I’m thinking too much. Just shooting the breeze. No big deal.

      For sure. The ball is the problem. I've said this for years. Human nature is telling you to hit the ball and hit it hard. The easiest way to do this (if you're an adult) is with the arms. You need to understand the concept of not hitting then get used to new feelings and keep doing it until you never want to hit ever again. Problem is, people try it for 3 balls then quit. ruclips.net/video/fuOJxv_22Hk/видео.html

      @@paulwilsongolf I’ll quit the golf thinking and get on with the doing. Doing it the Paul Wilson way. The right way.
