Sublime. It is a blessing for those who can listen to this song. If we close our eyes it seems like we go back to the 1930s and see Chaplin's silent films and men with top hats in the streets

Yes, and we could also see women in pretty dresses in the early 1930s. I have framed photos on my wall of my beautiful mother in lovely hats and dresses from 1933 and 1934. I never tire looking at them. It's all boring pants today for women.

Red Steagall recorded a fine western swing version of 'Love Letters In The Sand' back in 1972 on his 'Somewhere My Love' album where he covered a few other great standards including 'Somewhere My Love', 'Mona Lisa', 'More', 'True Love', and 'Careless Hands' etc. Check them out - they are not the usual Nashville fare but more of the Texas driven swing beat with twin fiddles (Johnny Gimble & Buddy Spicher), swinging steel guitar (Buddy Emmons), solid guitars and a stomping piano.

Parents and pals around the piano at the holiday camp by the sea-side in New Zealand in the 50s singing along to this standard is an old memory.

if you have lived through an important, but broken, relationship, this song certainly relates.

Walt. For the love of Jesus. Please read Bar Stools & Bus Stops. A romantic like you will LOVE it. The writer, a distant friend, wrote it before depression and alcoholism got the best of him. Anyway, please give it a go.

The original version was by the Majestic Dance Orchestra with vocal by Helen Rowlands, also 1931.Gene Austin’s recording came shortly after it. This by no means takes away from Austin’s fine recording.

Fine version of a tune that has gone to just about every type of music. Mac Wiseman made it a bluegrass standard among other things.

I really love this song. I sing it myself with a soft baritone voice l try to mimic
The excellent Pat Boone and it sounds nice and velvety.

I thought the original was sang by Tommy Sands but it was in 1931 by Gene Austin.
