I really appreciate you taking the trouble to make and post this video. It's exactly the solution I need for a lot of my photos. Works really well. Thank you! Subscribed! One question. Could this same technique be used for selective noise reduction using just Gaussian Blur?
Sorry for my terrible English but one more question. How did you change mask color from white to black? i am using MacAir. Could you please write here shortcuts please ?
hi dude, I really love your videos. I just started use CC5. I have learned from you how to frequance seperation, There is a problem and i don't really know how to fix it. As in this video i do same steps till "high pass" then i clicked high pass my image got very colourful instead of grey colour. than i clicked linear light but photo became completely dark. thats why i can't keep going on. Could you help me to fix it? Thank you!
Why do You use gaussian blur? What kind of difference that it could be use from duplicate layer and single high pas without gaussian? I heard that high pass will work better on Lab chanel, is it right?
TheHotshizzle25 Hi and Thank You for Your question.I will try to use high pass with Lab channel however I don't think there will be a big difference. However I can easilly answer your question about gaussian - as well as you can try to see on your own. If we use only high pass, you can easily notice that our image looks very fake, face will become noisy and hairs will be to bright and sharpen. Gaussian blur simiply breaks edges a bit on the picture and reduce the noise. Thanks that our image looks sharpen and at the same time keeps natural look. Face still will be nice and smooth, and not cracked and noisy. Thank you! ;) Hope my answer was helpful
Zapraszam jeszcze raz do polskiego kanału ;)
TheHotshizzle25 Oczywiście znam te plug iny i uwielbiam topaz detail!
Hey it is not well explained you need to show things with more accuracy. i tried until the filters but after inverting the layers blur and high pass i couldnt get the selection tool working..why?
A very nice tutorial,, however it would be nice to see how to sharpen an image that is not a very well exposed, well-defined professional photo taken with a high-end camera.
I'd imagine this technique could yield some improvement, with a few tweaks to the opacity etc (strength of the sharpening), but if the photo is badly exposed and taken with a poor sensor and a poor lens, then you are probably getting somewhat in to "making a silk purse from a pig's ear" territory. If the raw materials are bad, then there is only so much you are going to be able to improve upon them.
Great tutorial, Marcin! I just subscribed to your channel! I am starting making some tutorials about Photoshop too. If you have the chance, please take a look to my channel!
Lovely Video clip! Apologies for butting in, I would love your thoughts. Have you considered - Riddleagan Made Masterpiece Remedy (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a great exclusive product for learning professional photo editing minus the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my BF got amazing results with it.

This tutorial is perfect! One question: How can I blur one part of an image? I image it to be very similar to this, but I don't know how to do it!
I think you just select that part that you want to sharpen...
or blur for that matter
love it! thank you
Fantastic!

Have no idea why you have the blur layer, it's completely overwritten by the high pass, kinda wasted.
好
