I’m in middle of nowhere texas and I was driving through my rural area and a neighbor has a rotting delorean out front. Shame it’s goin to waste. Still looks salvageable.

I had one of those JVC stereos back in high school, probably 1997 or so. Awesome little unit.
I thought this was a Clarion Audia 3000, from 1991, but I guess not since you had one. The Clarion had the 1st motorized face unit with a tape deck & remote. Have a new one in storage. Can't find any info on it..
Stereo is a JVC Chameleon. Had one back in the mid 90s.
The first one came out in 99 though 😮

TOOK IT DOWN TO MEDAL AIR PLANE STRIPPED. 2K , PRIMER, 3 COATS BASE COAT, 3 CLEAR COAT. CAN'T FIND QUALITY WORKER TO FINISH IT. RUNS LIKE A BEAST. GREAT IDEA BOB. I MIGHT GET ONE BOB. GOOD VALUE. That looks like a JVC ElKameleon headunit from the early-mid 2000s . Its meant to be dissappear when the car is turned off making it invisible to thiefs.
I’m not a purist, but I’m not a fan of the time machines either. Just not a fan of the movie, but I respect your work and enjoyed your discussing and showing of the Delorean. Helps me learn a little bit more about mine and how it should actually look/perform.

Hey Video Bob! That car stereo in the DeLorean is a JVC Chameleon. If you notice when its off. It has the appearance of a car stereo that has the face removed so that it wont get stolen. Back when removable faces were a big thing, this was a alternative to that kind of system. This stereo basically was "Hiding in plain sight" as if you were to come on the car at night and shine a flashlight into the car it would give you the appearance of the stereo having the face removed.. Pretty cool and still a pricey stereo. Was looking on E-Bay tonight and saw a used one in great condition for 330 dollars. Put it in one of your better cars Bob. It is a Kick ass Stereo. Love the cheapo raise the shower so you don’t have to bust the concrete to put in a drain pipe, also love the Bob red suspenders toilet seat…
The original Herman Miller chairs also go for grip and have issues delam-ing and then the back comes off catastrophically and you go boom!
The antenna location on a DMC12 wasn't optional...the first "batch" of imports had the windshield antenna followed by a second batch that was missing the wire going around the windshield. We took those cars and began adding antennas to them on body. This necessitated having a crew of guys working night shift to meet demand. This was taking too long so we switched to
vent install with a powered unit. This was done in California not Ireland.
Might be worth checking to see if it has Dave McKeens idle ECU. They could have the idle bumped up.
"Fraisier" had one on his TV show!!!!!! It was show cased a few times in that comedy, especially the 1st show & last!

Big fan of mid-century furniture myself. It was basically the last hurrah of trying to recover the pre-World Wars opulence and attention to design, before everything became cheap consumer junk. Much like how your Rolls Royce harkens back to pre-World Wars opulence of coach building.
I especially liked the hubcap installation tool. The left foot is more precise than the right foot, (hee hee). Jayman...

Aren’t they making new deloreans? I thought there was a delorean factory in Texas which was basically still building them. I am referring to the place in Humble. Maybe they’re not making new ones. Shame.
Sad to think as you say, one day they will be so rare that you can’t make time machines any more.
But Delorean is working on getting approval to make more, limited quantity. If that happens then your supply may not be so small.
Last I checked the place in Humble still wants to make new ones, but they're currently waiting to get government approval under some vintage car exemption since DeLoreans don't meet modern emission standards.
For the chair: Dark Wine Corinthian thick leather and the darker Ebony wood, yes yes. (Ricardo Maltalban approves.)

The Morgan Plus 4 had plywood floors! I think they still make them. Not sure if they still use wood though.

There's two low mileage, DeLorean's near me that haven't ran in over 20 years. They're owned by an Asian lady whose husband passed away. He was infatuated with those cars.
What do you do with all of the removed stock parts? Do you have a vendor at DMC that buys them back from you?

Hate to say it but I’d leave the DeLorean as it is. I love the BTTF ones too but this one seems too good to convert. Just a sympathetic restoration. But that is not what this channel is about. It will make a great Time Machine.

The front suspension in the original time machine in the movie is lowered....cant stand a high front suspension delorean...should be lowered at least 2 inches in the front
You are totally right. They MUST be lowered to at least the DESIGN height, not the raised nose, done by DMC to meet stupid regulations. Plus, Giugiaro never said he hated the car. Bob is totally wrong on this.
