Hey brother, been doing the same and for me it came down to this
Price: cx5
Interior: Tie, I prefer the 50
Styling: cx50
Suspension: Cx5 has independent, cx50 has torsion beam (cheaper)
Handling: 50
I think it comes down to the premium price you pay for the newer model. I prefer the 50 but the cx-5 you can probably get a better deal at the dealership.
