Yes!!! Thanks. I appreciate everyone’s support. 😊😊😊
I pay so little attention to trends, I never knew these things were "out." Traditional all my life, old as dirt now, English country, skirts on furniture, brass in formal rooms, pewter in less formal. Home is comfortable, people come, relax, and get away from the hustle bustle of their lives...makes me happy.
After years of same-o same-o HGTV, I’m so ready for color, intricate beautiful details, and quality pieces again
"Play in my profession"...I am so here for the interior design advice with the dash of shade lol
🤣🤣🤣
Your discussion on piping brought back a memory of helping my mother reupholster a ten foot sofa as a young teen. I got to pull the cording line through endless tubes of damask blue floral fabric to form the piping for all the cushions. It ended up beautiful and forged a closeness between us that was sadly needed by the angst ridden teen, me.
Thank you for reminding me!
Thanks for sharing!
A wonderful story 😘
Nice to hear stories like this, where kids are working on a project with a parent . So valuable in so many ways.
I love that some of these traditional design features are coming back!
I recently bought a pair of antique oak Liberty chairs. I'd been watching them online for about a year but couldn't justify the price. For some reason, they never sold (maybe because the seat fronts were slightly damaged). Eventually, the seller knocked the price right down and I went for them. I've been able to mend the damage and you can't tell they've been repaired unless you look really closely. Sometimes you can get things which are affordable if you're willing to put in a little work to clean them up or get them restored.
I love the chairs and they look great in my little dining area. Antiques might not always be trendy but they're always stylish.
It is timeless design to mix antiques with other design styles. That’s also very elevated and gives a curated appearance to a space providing allot of character.
Again, I always love how you encourage people to stay true to their style and their needs… “I’m here for you,” or “I love that for you”
I care very much about my subscribers. That’s why I take the time to read and respond to comments.
Plus his marvelous sense of humor 🥰

You can have most carpet companies make you a rug from any of their carpets and you can get any size.
Pop of red? I'm finally fashnionable (again)!
An antique sofa is always a good idea.
I just LURVE your sweater. You don't see saddle shoulders that often. The design and fit is very flattering!
Thanks so much!
Finding a good reupholsterer is a skill and it’s expensive. But …here’SA trick….find the fabric you like hat a furniture store, take a pic of all the info and then order it from North Carolina furniture company.. t will cost about half of what you’d normally pay for the fabric.
Thanks for this. I learned a lot. I’ve always been a bit more traditional in my interior choices and often felt old fashioned, but with newer items - even Knick knacks the quality just isn’t there. Give me a cut crystal vase any day over these wood balls etc thatve been popular in recent years. Horses for courses.
Glad it was helpful!
Just remodeled my kitchen from golden oak to white cabinets with a walnut island and one wall of base cabinets. It’s quite pretty.
If i never hear "a pop of" again, I'll be a happy person playing in your profession
My kitties say YES to the fringe, so NO! My sofas are traditional and have piping, however.
Have striped bolster so check! Lumbar is a necessity. Button pillow check! Vintage chairs check! Small Pop of red purposely done, already. Garrett this is the FIRST time I have more than 1-2 things 😂
You’re a gem (by your dining room is the most beautiful I have EVER seen).
Thanks for sharing!! I appreciate your support.
Fringe and tassels? Absolutely not. I remember setting that fringe on fire as a child. Now I have three kids. No way!
As a child I thought tassels on drapes were the most interesting thing I had ever seen! Love piping on sofas but I do have to vacuum out the Milk Bone crumbs that seek shelter in the trim. ❤️🐩
Oh! Those green leather chairs!!!😮
Same. You must be around 45 ♡
I hate trends. If they're classic, I'm into it. Cottage core is my style. I'm just a country girl who lives in the suburbs and hate it.
shabby chic till I die 😅
The pillows 😂 We’re watching Midsomer Murders, set in early 2000s England and I keep seeing them
Me too!😅😌
Twins 👯♀️
Love you Garrett. Thanks for speaking to the Psychology of Color. An element of good Feng Shui is the way the space makes you feel. Color is directly linked with emotions & feelings.
My pleasure! Thanks for supporting the channel by subscribing and watching.
I have burgundy wall to wall carpet and cannot change it out. So everything else is neuteral. Furniture is wood. Sofa and chair has white covers and tan pillow for sofa snd a tan throw for the wingback chair. One entire side of all rooms in this condo is windows. Love your videos. ❤️🍷
Thanks so much, and thank you for sharing!
I’m an avid sewer and I love to find unique materials to create one of a kind pillows. I have a bolster I made that has stripes on the end and I made a slip to place over it (just the ends peek out a bit) using the bottom of an antique petticoat with all the intricate lace and gathered details
Your videos are so entertaining!!! You bring sunshine in every video. Can we get a fashion video please? Thank you.
Thanks so much!😊😊😊
I have two small metal red end tables. They're adorable. I love bright colors. But my house is not muted at all, there's bright colors everywhere so the red doesn't stick out like a sore thumb like it would in a more toned down house.
I’m doing a few of these things: antique chair, cylinder cushion, solid rug
Very interesting points. Didn’t know about the red yet. But I have other accent colors going on in my home
GarrettLeChic, that room at 8:07!! 😍 Love the white reticulated vases with those dark cane chairs! It's like chinoiserie and traditional got married and had a little baby that turned out to traditserie or something. 🤪😍
Can I just say, the bang in the face is such a vibe. 😈🤭🌷⭐️
Thanks!
Garrett, if you are ever in Scottsdale, there are wonderful interior design showrooms and one upholstery Fabric Store, Boca Baroon, (also in Miami) where I’ve purchased fabric upholstery before. Come to Scottsdale over the next 3 months while our weather is still lovely! Also great estate resale places that have gorgeous finds!
Garrett, thanks for a fabulous video. I loved the content but the sass was next level fun. Mwah , you were perfection.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for supporting the channel by subscribing and watching. 😀😀😀
Garret, I am your fan. I love the way you do your vlogs. It makes watching you so interesting. 😀
I appreciate that! Thanks so much.
I like fringe but it's not practical with my dogs and cats. But if I COULD do fringe without it being chewed off, I would do fringed lampshades.
Perfect timing, I’m rearranging my living room. Luv your design ideas.
Awesome! Thank you!
No, not the fringe!
There was a lil LeChic, who had a little curl, right in the side of his forehead. When he was good, he was very good, But when he was bad.....he was in his villain era!
🤣🤣🤣
Of these I like the solid color rugs the best.
Piping can be made and also sewn into seams using a zipper foot. For bullion and other trims try clear thread or fishing line and the stitching will disappear.
We need to see some dogs again please!
They will be appearing soon. 🐕🐕🪽
Hello 👋 my mom just gifted me a red glass egg shaped candy dish that she’s had for over geez 30 years I always admired it and now it sits on my sofa table. I don’t own anything red but it really looks nice. I don’t follow trends, I just do me, but on occasion it happens involuntarily 😊 great video!
Sounds great! Glad you enjoyed.
Another great video Garrett! Oh jeeeeezzz, red. Eesh. Trends...Be careful!!!! Now, a pop of black here and there. Yes, love that for me.
Interesting to see the trends come and go. Thanks for keeping us in the know Garrett.
You bet!
I do love red for a pop of color!
ACK! Loving this! Really enjoy listening to your advice and comments.
Awesome! Thank you!
You look fabulous! Fantastic color for you sets you off in a beautiful way!
Thank you so much
Thank you for your thoughtful design notes, @Garrett LeChic! Always a pleasure to spend time with you!
🙏🌿💐🌿😊💚😘🌿💐🌿🙏
You are so welcome! I appreciate your support.
Love, love, love this video. The red moment can be muted, almost burgundy, but it can uplift a space like nothing else. (Love your humour too!)
Thanks so much!
Yay!! A video from Garrett. You made my day.
I'm so glad!😊😊😊
i live with Bauhaus ( Corbusier etc .) furniture . Its pure classic and you never have to think whats in or out - and you never get tired of this style 😉
Yes it’s very lovely for those who enjoy that style. Everyone is different and as they say different strokes for different folks. Personally, I respect all design styles and the main consideration for me is people having the style that makes them happy in their home from both a functional and aesthetic perspective.
I was feeling a bit down last few days but watching your video made me feel more uplifted. Magic Garrett and thank you! ❤
Happy to help!😊😊😊
Piping yes, skirting no. And my roomba has to have access.
You certainly know your stuff. I am too intimidated to do a one on one. I have no decorating talented. Anyhow thank you for valueable info.
That’s very kind of you! Thank you for subscribing and watching. I appreciate your support. Please don’t be intimidated to do a consultation. I’m very easygoing and if you read the reviews I’m sure you will find great value in it. I’m here to help and not judge.
😀😀😀
Great sweater and info!
Thank you!
Hi Garrett,
Thank you for the vlog!!
Interesting as how these dated designs are going to come back. To be honest other than those sofa pipings rest all are still acceptable for me, am not much fond of it but again you never know things done in a right way and with the right fabric can change the perception:)
Garrett the apartment that we first bought was all classic wooden elements and cream beige couch and the most of the things were subtle and to bring the pop of the colour I made all the cabinets of my kitchen red, that was 20 years ago😍and I loved that boldness of colours then but now I would not like so much of red going on🙃 but I love red ♥️
You have a wonderful week ahead gorgeous person..xx
Thanks for sharing Ramani! Have a great week. 🤗🤗🤗🌺🌺🌺
@@GarrettLeChic thankyou🤗
Are wheeling trays (11:41) coming back into the living room too ?
Bar carts. Some people like them and I think they are relatively still current in the right situation.
I like the more muted types of red, so it won't be so strong
Love that for you!
❤
You are adorable. There, I've said it!
You're the best!
❤yes I have a pop of red in most rooms….. I have been doing this since the 80’s…. So millennials step back….. this is not a new thing you invented lol…😮 thanks for sharing lol you are the master and NOT the master of disaster….😊
Love it!!
Skirts, fringe, piping, tassels on sofas -- NOT for me! I do like a hint of red though, especially if it's flowers.
Am I first or what?
Hey Garret 😊
You were here quickly! That’s what matters. Thanks so much for that amazing support.
😀
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💛
Classic I will use but trends are a no-no. Bolster pillows and antique furniture are classics but pops of red will date a room quickly. I'm also not into fringe on furniture as I saw too much of it in the 1980's where it belongs. Excellent video! ☀️🌴🦩☺️😊🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️
Thank you!
I am so interior-design challenged that I cringe when faced with designs that are quasi en trend. I have to trust that if something is dated then it’s for a good reason and I’d better cozy up to Garrett’s expert advice to stay current. Sorry, that’s the way it’s got to be….
Well, I’m available on a limited basis through my virtual interior decorating service to help you with your particular challenges. Bookings are at intro.co/garrettlechic 😊😊😊
Hola 👋🏽💙💙💙
😊😊😊
Is shag rug coming back?
Not old fashion long shag but I’ve seen some updated shag on several sites
Not in my opinion.
The home I bought 20 years ago had lime green shag....in the bathroom. Just no.
So why not try an area rug with more of that look?
