Can you get any better than SRV .... I think not. He just brings so many feelings and emotions to every performance. We lost a gem. I've always felt such a void that can't be filled since his passing. Thank you for keeping him relevant🎸🎶🎼✌️
I agree 100%. He was a really really nice cat in addition to being so talented. It's just a shame. But I'm thankful he was here as long as he was. I miss him still. He brought love into the room.
ain't nothing sweeter than someone who mastered their craft....he always gave you everything he had.
One of the true good guys. His talent is great. But he was a really really super good and nice dude. Imagine having his talent and being humble and kind?
Stevie could do it all. His death was such a tremendous loss. But he fulfilled his mission to bring back the blues which was a dying art form.
I love after the solo how he smiles when the crowd cheers :)
SRV = THE G.O.A.T.
One of my favorite songs!!! I’ve had the good fortune to see him a few times. Solos never the same. You don’t just listen to him, you feel him!!!
Saw him just months before the crash. Got to meet him that night as well. What a humble man.
i remember seeing you at some of those shows.
Stevie Ray Vaughan was much more than the GOAT with his amazing voice and guitar playing but he was a great song writer, producer and he even acted in a couple of movies. Stevie Ray wrote this song and released it in 1985, he wrote songs like Love Struck Baby to his ex wife on his his birthday October 3,1980 and released it June 3, 1983 on his Texas Flood album. Couldn't Stand The Weather released May 15 1984 for his album with the same name and so many more.
Maybe the GOAT of his guitar genre, but not of other guitar genres. Flamenco, jazz, classical, fingerstyle, rock . . . lot's of GOATs out there.
Saw him in concert 6 times, couldn't believe what I was seeing then and still can't. The GREATEST of all time, will never see another like him.
i thought it was 7 ?
Maybe the greatest for his genre, but not overall.
The GOAT! in my opinion.
SRV's playing style was a funky fusion of blues, rock, and jazz with a unique and instantly recognizable sound. His fiery, soulful guitar
never disappoints. He broke more strings than anyone because he played so hard and free. Great choice, guys; you're always
fresh and on point with your reactions.
best vocals
Can you imagine the music we would have if he was still alive today?
33 years without him, the music would insanely good.
When you're this good in your 30's it's only going to get better! Eric Clapton said the show he performed before his death was insane, everyone was standing on the side of the stage mesmerized
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 The goatiest goat in all of goatness
The 1:00 minute mark knocks me out of my seat...he went from zero to hundred in a matter of seconds..thanks so much for reacting to this..maybe...Change It ..from same concert...Capital Theatre next?💞✌️
YES!!! You gotta PLEEZE do "Change It" from same concert. The version from "Live Alive" is incredible. Besides Tommy's base, how many guitars do you hear ? ☮️to all
SRV was one of those rare guys who I personally think his live stuff sounds better than his studio stuff, but that's just my opinion.
Tears welling up, every time. The world is so much poorer for his leaving it...
One of the gods of Blues/Rock is Stevie Ray Vaughan representing!!! Always Great stuff!!! in 1979....Saw him in the Blues Festival in San Francisco with friends.
Best version of his best song...writing, singing, playing....all the soul a person can take.
Bravo
Yes, agreed...any more & I'd be on the floor wailing...Wow.....
Brilliance personified. SRV was one of a kind fo sho’. Love watching all of these old performances with you both. 🔥
Nobody comes close Stevie RIP the king of blues
greatest love song ever
Two lead singers SRV & the guitar 🎸 🎶 🎙
That is an emotional soulful ride right there. My favorite song from him. Nobody forces his will and soul on an instrument like stevie can. GOD had to take him early, cuz like Eric Clapton once said, I've goto go cuz if I see him play anymore ill quite and throw away the guitar. ( Said it to bb king, who at the time just figured out stevie was white. stating that stevie was the darkest white man alive....)
Every song he did at the Capitol Theatre is fire!!
The fact that he could bend those strings like that is amazing. He used #13's. Basically frickin piano wires!
Baddest mf that ever played a Strat.
You forget about Jeff Beck?
Loved his smile after that solo
👏🙌💙🎸🎶‼️ One of my most favorite original songs by Stevie and this performance in particular reviewed by two of my favorite reactors. No better way to start my day💯. Thanks for circling back to Stevie🙏. You really need to check out a performance of his in Daytona Beach 1987. His high energy Love Struck Baby / Rude Mood combo is so fun, you could tell how much fun Stevie was having. He throws the guitar behind his head and starts doing some dance moves and jigs, clicking his boots together like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz!
He was a wizard alright🎶🎸💙🎶💯
Yes!!!!! Y’all will love this one suggested by Harriett!!!
@@conniehorton1981thanks for the vote Connie👋✌️💙‼️🎶
Finally someone played it Hariett!!❤
@@starfire6122 and it is these great guys doing it‼️. This song doesn't get enough play time but you and I and a few others keep reminding everyone how great this is. This whole concert is 🔥‼️💯.
I saw an interview with Christopher Cross who is a pretty damn good guitar player. He was with SRV and said he played SRVs guitar. SRV played with 13 or 14 gauge strings, Chis Cross played with 10 as do many. He said SRVs guitar was virtually unplayable for him. Said he had no idea how SRV did it and said the finger/hand & forearm strength was basically though the roof. Thought that was pretty cool to hear another really good musician say that about SRV.
Number One, the Strat Stevie is playing here previously belonged to Christopher Cross. Stevie purchased it from a Texas music store and kept it till he passed away as his “first wife”. Thus the name…
This is the song he softly sang in his “Soundcheck”. Beauty.
Such passion and depth in this song.....he tears the bottom and top off with this song. Live at the Montreux was an awesome version as well.
"He was really on point that night." Have you EVER seen Stevie NOT on point? And he was hurting here too.
That whole show is perfect. You should try "Couldn't Stand the Weather" from this show.
Always be My GOAT.
🎸Legend. Stevie Never Ever 'phoned it in' - never went thru the motions as if it was rehearsed. In fact, they didn't rehearse their shows. Tommy Shannon said that Stevie deeply felt every note he was playing at that moment, every single time. You can see it here. 🌠
Just so incredible!
The Usual for APB... OUTSTANDING!!!
SRV came out of The Womb with an Electric Guitar in Hand!!!! NO DOUBT!!!
I saw him Once.... 85' Playboy Jazz Fest.... Blew my Mind.......
Wow! SVR was a master! Thx guys for starting the day on that! Cheers, Louie
I wastorn between watching SRV and watching you guys. Both awesome.
The best version of this song!
WOW!!! What a way to start my day!!!!! Thank you for reacting to this song!!! I will be watching this one again and again!!!!! And I absolutely agree with Harriet’s suggestion. She said it perfectly!!! I just love y’all reacting to my all time favorite SRV!!!!!
Oh man, that was smooth as silk, like his voice. Soft and slow, he makes a song sound like a journey, and that we know, is the best part. Never stop listening to Stevie, you'll always be rewarded. One hand? Yes but both hips, he put everything into his music. What he had can't be learned, it can only be honed. I believe gifts like this and other minds, are born with you. (And that smile was charming and disarming.) SRV & DT lover 4-ever ❤. ☮️to all
I meant - ...other kinds...
Holy smokes that man oozed soul!! I saw him once but unfortunately I was very young and was more interested in the party around me than the legend on stage. 😥 It hurts to see what I missed that night. ✌🏼
Beautiful song with a great solo
SRV. Enough Said 🇺🇸🌄🎶
Start the day with Stevie Ray, end the day with Stevie Ray, its ALL good!
SRV and Jeff Healey (best blind guitarist every) "Look at Little sister. They kill that song together. Another one to check out is Jeff Healey "As The Years Goes Passing By"
❤ 😢
🙏❤🌹 Stevie 🌹❤🙏
Blues to the Nth degree
Thanks guys keep the SRV’s coming!
GOAT
True story...In 1988 I went to see Stevie at the USF Sundome in Tampa. They had retractable bleachers. So I go to get a beer and when I was walking back up the stairs, I lost my balance a little. I knew I wasn't drunk, the bleachers were swaying to the groove, which threw my balance off!
I saw him there the following year, Nov. 1989 with Jeff Beck opening. I had absolute nosebleed seats for Beck, with sound reverberating off the walls right behind me, but I made my way down to the floor for SRV. Second and last time I saw him play live. He was amazing, a force of nature.
Stevie Ray was an incredible bluesman. Very sad that he overcame his addictions and then died in a plane crash. So tragic. ❤😮😢😢😢❤
Love you guys, man. I look forward to seeing your videos. Huge SRV and Steely Dan fan. Those are my most watched videos. Keep doing what you're doing
Tommy Shannon on bass and "Whipper"Laten on drums!
its so sad that just like a decade earlier when several greats like hendrix died at 27...its so unfortunate what happened to SRV just when he really had it going and at the height of his great career...as always, love your insight boys!!
So good. I hadn’t heard this performance. 🧐 why is it literally making me feel like rolling around in the dirt? 🔥🔥🔥
I would love for y’all to checkout the Telephone song. It’s quite funky for SRV.
One important element of SRV’s incredible tone: he used super heavy gauge strings, like .13s on the E string! I’ve been playing guitar for a very long time, and I’m not sure I could even fret those, let alone bend them the way he did.
One of the best. I never see reactions to Willy the Wimp, an SRV great, little different vibe but such a cool tune, give it a spin.
Yes sir❤!!!!
Used to see him in clubs in Dallas all the time in the late seventies and early eighties until he got to big for the club scene!
One thing that guitarists do that I think you might have noticed him doing, is changing the relative position between the guitar and the amp to create a feedback note an octave higher. At one point he just turned towards the amp a bit, and the note changed. Many guitarists will find the best spots and angles for doing this during sound check.
Love following you two on your srv journey. You get him. Great commentary.
When he got clean, you could just see such a positive change in his shows. I'm sad to this day that I had tickets to Alpine Valley and got emergency called in to work. I heard the crash announced over the work radio and thought it was Clapton that had died until they reported it was SRV. Damn.
I know you just did the song couldn't stand the weather studio version but you got to hear it live from capital theater it's a great one
Thank you both for this one.
SRV sure knew his way around that electric twanger didn’t he.
Great video fella's. I've never seen this one.
That voice
Left us too early. What a loss.
Damn!
This was the second song in soundcheck 🔥
Saw him open for a new wave group Wall of Voodoo in a cattle barn at the Ark State Fair in the early 70’s. His dad was in the audience because he lived here🤪🤣
When Eric Clapton gave up his seat, Stevie took it and died that night. Wish he was still here. Legit Legend on the guitar and every other artist will confirm that.
Over the year I've watched this performance at least 20 times. Today, without warning, my stoic self teared up at 4:00 and by 6:30 couldn't see the monitor. How does that happen? SMH.
Have you done "couldn't stand the weather"? Try the official video version if you do. They interpret it pretty good.
Hey guys, again I want to say you are the best. Don't change a thing. At least not too fast.
Clapton did an amazing cover of this song on a SRV tribute concert! Check it out
That guitar is still crying somewhere... Even in the case, it's crying it's eyes out.
Thank you so much 👑
Jimi Hendrix and Albert King had a baby- Stevie. ❤
Stevie’s live stuff was better. ? And did he have perfect pitch? If that’s a thing? And timing? Genius at work
Stevie channeling Albert King
Cold Shot....let Reese loose!!
Hey Guy’s….How bout some more Allman Brothers….would really like to see your reaction to
You Don’t Love Me…from the Fillmore East Album….thanks …have a jam’n day ✌️
From this same performance, please react to " Couldn't Stand The Weather, Stevie let's Reece solo and it's Nasty! Lol
Y’all need to do the official video for “Superstition”! It’s got a nice surprise in it, that’s all I say.😂
If you do another SRV reaction video, Wham! from the El Mocambo is insane. Its a 3:30 minute instrumental but is worth a listen to.
"I've said that playing the blues is like having to be black twice. Stevie Ray Vaughen missed on both counts, but I never noticed." B B King.
👍
2000th
Gotta do NIB by Black sabbath
agree.....and the song....black sabbath......under a black light!
🙃👍
Try chris cornell billy Jean...yes the michael jackson song but a little different
Major stankface!
I need a cigarette.
Um, its ONE SONG - "aint gone and give up on love" ---- By the way, its BLUES
You guys should give his brother Jimmy a look see.
No argument the blues were created by black people. But CRV can do it better than anybody I ever heard.
Okay, you've reacted to SRV (thanks) so you MUST react to Rory Gallagher !!! Rory and Hendrix were considered the GOATS!!
