Loved your reaction. SRV was the Coolest & most Bad Ass Player to ever pick up a guitar. He played with really heavy strings which gave a unique sound & at times distressing when he bent 'em...Most guitarists can't play those heavy strings, so you combine great guitar work & "honey over gravel voice" ( as described by John Mayer ) & you have the" greatest player on the Planet", as noted by Eric Clapton.

I honestly cried when Stevie died. Built a huge fire in the woods and smoked weed and drank whiskey and cried like a baby while listening to his albums. He was proof of God! First time I heard him was on a big stereo system in Dallas when I was there staying with my sister. I said, "WHO IS THAT???" He was so special!

You should listen to aint gonna give up on love instremental. The church organ and base.... I listen to it.. Sound like god called him home.... If you listen to it let me know👍 I first hear him when I was a kid at Kenny shoe store.. Scuttle butt.. I finally found out who played that

@@beedalton9675 I love the version of that song off the Live Alive album. I got to meet Stevie and his brother for just a moment in Dallas in 1985 and shook their hands. I was so drunk I barely remember it but I do remember that Stevie left because he felt like he was drawing attention away from his brother`s show. My sister was married to a guy who grew up in Oak Cliff and knew him so he introduced us. Very strange! I also met Darrell Abbott (Dimebag) of Pantera there in 1984 and watched them play in clubs in 85. Both died tragic deaths. So odd!

Awh, you looked away at the 8:00 mark...right after he finished the solo and walked back to the mike. This is my favorite SRV song and version because of Stevie's reaction to the audiences applause..it is priceless and shows us a glimpse of his true character....genuine and humble...I really enjoy watching people react to videos of SRV...it is a wonderful way to honor his life and his message of unity and love for all of Mankind.

See I been playing blues guitar all my life. Stevie was special...sort of like Jimi. You gotta hear Freddie King, Albert Collins, Lightnin Hopkins, Guitar Slim, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Hubert Sumlin, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters and so many but can't forget Albert King and Lonnie Mack...the stink face...😂..when you play it's because you see the hurt all around you all the time...can't do a thing about it...so your heart is heavy, but with that guitar you can heal it..you can share love and everyone in that room watching for just a while loves everyone around them. So that face happens because you pour all.yoir heart and soul into those strings and with that guitar pick....for once what you feel, what you want to say and be understood ... actually help...it happens in the music...all that pain and love is on your face while you play so it gets crazy looking sometimes...but anyone listening can feel what you are putting down...you know they are listening and their hearts are all connected and in that moment all that pain you see everyday all.around you..you can help it...and people listen. Stevie and I both play on .013-.060 strings..most players play on .009-.042..thats basically thread versus our piano wire to get that huge sound you can feel...but it's not just the big stings...it's the pick and being able to put your heart and soul into that guitar. He tragically was lost in a helicopter crash in August 1990 after the Alpine Valley show after Eric Clapton gave him his seat because Stevie wanted to get home and see his girl. He was a gift just lime Jimi and so many more. One things for sure though...i play a show and do his stuff, i still pack any house with it today...his music is timeless and his message...we need more of that today than ever. Thank you for bringing the blues to a new generation...I came out of Mississippi so I was born with it. One thing is for sure..I'm not trying to be him...there will only ever be one Stevie Ray, but he changed my life with his music and I turned down record deals because all I care about is keeping the blues alive and keeping the message he was spreading that Jimi Hendrix and so many others before and after them were spreading...love the channel!❤️✝️

Warms my heart to watch all the video reactions of the young folks in the community finding Stevie and in love with him. I was blessed in my life to see him live several times and can't put into words of these reactions from the young youth. The day he passed, my father called me at work to tell me because he knew how much he meant to me. I had to leave work early because I was so distraught and went home just sat in room all day and night listening to every song he ever did, and wept.

John Mayer described SRV's guitar playing as (paraphrasing here) a jet plane that blows you away with power and does a bunch of loops and unbelievable tricks but then comes in for a landing as quiet and precise as a paper airplane right on the center line of the runway.

The first few bars send shivers...."Scuttle Buttle" is another..the way he goes straight in full force....
Aparently in the studio he liked everything very loud the guy in the engineer/producer in soundproof box could hear him n his band!! They often had to put heavy blankets over the speakers onstage as a compromise lol
He certainly made the guitar sing...literally...and scream for mercy lol great reaction 🤟🏼

I think these are great videos but I wonder how many are told SRV was a student of the Blues, so much he would argue with people who thought he wrote this stuff. He would tell them quickly he was just doing what he heard his heroes doing which resulted as a direct interpretation in most cases.
