    Love Summit Windmill too
Bangprakong Riverside is fun to play, 1650 sports day with cart n caddy. Royal Lakeside and The Royal GCC are worth a look too. Laem Chabang is another great course.

Great video. I've never played Phuket or Bangkok. If you return, Huahin and Kanchanaburi are great golfing destinations, our group has done these many times. I have 20 years in Thailand under my belt, still learning , and your videos are so informative for me.

Thank you! I think Huahin will be the next stop! People have been recommending it to me since the first time I went to Thailand 😂

The prices are different between weekends and weekdays. Suwan is pretty expensive on weekends but they have special on Monday. Hopefully next time you will visit Chiang Mai Hiland. The price is great and the course is amazing.

I've heard great things about golf in Chiang Mai! Will definitely check it out one day

True, very few courses in Bangkok proper. However, if you know a member at Royal Bangkok Sports Club, you can play right in the heart of the city surrounded by sky scrapers. It also has a horse track running right through it which makes it very interesting indeed. Try and figure out a way to play it. Very unique experience!

We did Kuala Lumpur and Phuket in Feb. Played KLGCC in Kuala Lumpur, Then Canyon Course, Loch Palm, Phuket GCC and Red Mountain. The plan is to hit Bangkok in 24 so this video was great to watch. If you ever play Braeben let me know.

Thana city is my favorite in terms of quality/price ( with membership that cost abt 1900thb and you get your first round free so no questions abt taking it). Only downside of it, green are a bit slow, but the quality of the greens is very consistent, if it was a 10 speed it would be such an and golf course ! Matter of fact many pros are playing there or even practicing there, best practice center with JBLK 👍

Hi Shan, I work and live in Thailand and my wife has joined me from China, the best golf course in Red Mountain and Siam Plantation. And I see your red mountain shirt.😂

Been watching a few of your videos of golfing in Thailand, they are very well done. I have played a few rounds of golf in Pattaya but not Bangkok (Maybe i should give Suwan and Nikanti a go next time). Somehow, being Malaysian, i rather pay to play better courses in Malaysia, notably Forest City (2 18s), Els Desaru (2 18s) maybe Palm Garden (KL) as they offer better value to the buck (KLGCC is a bit overpriced). That's just my opinion. But of course, being local, we can just drive to the 1st 2 courses from KL as the journey takes 3.5 to 4.5 hours.

Nice line up of courses. I really liked Red Mountain but as you say, it is more expensive. I have usually booked tee times direct with the golf course. What was your experience with Golf Savers and do you get a huge discount?

    • @GolfwithShan
      @GolfwithShan  Год назад

I had a good experience. We found that the price on Golf Savers was lower than the prices listed at the golf course for visitors. The good thing was convenience because all the courses are on Golf Savers (and we didn't have to individually call and book each golf course).
I would definitely still recommend comparing the prices before booking.

Thanks for the info. Can you share the slope ratings of these golf courses, playing from the black (championship) tees? It’ll be located on the scorecards.

Hi, for a lot of these courses, the blue tees are the "back" tees. I couldn't find the slope for Suwan, but here are the slopes for the other courses :)
Suwan Golf and Country Club (no info)
Thana City Country Club - 129
      Muang Kaew Golf - 138
      The Vintage Club - 117
Summit Windmill Golf Club - 135
Blue Canyon Lakes Course - 128
Blue Canyon Canyon Course - 141
Red Mountain Golf Club - 136

@@GolfwithShan Thanks for your prompt details. Very helpful. I'm visiting Bangkok soon. I checked into Suwan Golf & Country Club in Nakhon Pathom. It shows a slope of 132 (blue tees) at 6,681 yd (CR: 70.1), but there is a black tee set at 7,110 yd (slope and CR are missing). Does it sound accurate?
Sounds like a challenge with slopes in the 130's and 141. Looking forward to it.

Hi, just saw your reply to the reply lol
Sounds about right, in general i found the courses more difficult because of the water hazards and length.
In Bangkok they're quite flat though, so really only water hazards and bunkers to look out for. The courses were a bit long for me, but would be unenjoyable if i moved up to reds personally. If I had a little more distance, I'd say the courses are really playable, slightly difficult but not so difficult that it's frustrating. 😊
      Enjoy your trip!

The best place in Thailand to play golf is Pattaya. Cheaper than Phuket, less traffic than Bangkok.
