I've been carrying the original izulas for like 8 years. I absolutely love them perfect small edc beater knife, esee really nailed the perfect all around small knife design with the izula, I don't even use the scales. From butchering goats to opening packages and everything in between they have never let me down. They do offer an opaque white sheath that doesn't leave marks on the knife or you could get the tan sheath.
I have the Izula 2, and in the 3 weeks I’ve had it, I’ve used it every day, and during the week before Labor Day took it with me to set up deer camp, as a companion knife to my Junglas, and my bushcraft knife never got pulled from its sheath! An absolute beast of a blade! Now to your review, For having a knife and carrying it every day, that thing is pristine. No wear marks, the retention is tight, and the sheaths pinch points on your blade are barely visible, and the scales aren’t dirty. Use that thing man!
Totally agree with you, I’ve used the knife for running for years, it did rust, but definitely not blaming the knife like you said, also the sheath is phenomenal, and absolutely love the retention of the clip. Great video!
You should do what I did, get the TKC extended scales for it. I have the original size and now it’s as long as the Izula II. The extended scales are awesome.
Awesome review of the Izula 2. This knife is so amazing that I ended up with 7 of them!!! 2 OD, 1 Orange, 1 Black oxide, 1 Dark earth, and 2 S35VN. All have TKC handles on and they all get carried. Call me the obsessed Izula man, that's ok! I always have one on me.. Take care.
How do you find the black oxide holds up compared to the powder coating? I like the idea of the smooth finish but not sure if it would be more prone to wear and rust.
So far it has no rust at all, I occasionally put a film of oil on it.. the oxide finish is holding up pretty well! This one in particular and the S35vn version are the ones I carry and use the most. I recommend both.👍
Great review,..best one I've seen to date on the Esse Izula 2, and I've seen a bunch!! So thank you!!! That said I ended up purchasing the Izula 1 (the short handled one) in black with olive color scales. Can't wait to get it after seeing your review!!!
I got the original Izula because I was able to get it for $22 off and I bought the TKC extended scales for it and now it’s the same size as the Izula II. I love it, it’s the best edc I’ve ever owned and I’ve had $300 Barkies. BR’s are still awesome but I think that I don’t feel bad beating on a $60 knife and knowing it isn’t likely to break at all anyway.
@@EDCfanatics Liquid Dawn dish detergent , a nylon dish scrub brush and warm running water removes most hand oil grime and restores color to other micarta scales I own. Might want to remove them from the knife first to prevent rust.
Great knife, but the included sheath is way to tight and difficult to reholster. Also leaves black marks on the blade from the retention buttons. (I can see the marks on yours in the video) Just bought the Armatus Architect and it's well worth the upgrade. Also bought the Ulticlip slim 3.3, but haven't used that with the Architect yet. Really depends on how you choose to carry.
I got a decent set up for esee’s now three different izulas, a xancudo and the 3 s35 and 4 in 1095 my favorite company I didn’t think I could like a knife more then spyderco but esee with their warranty and all it’s just not a competition
I have a folder, the ESEE Zancudo in D2 and I love it! For $35 it's tough and I'm not worried about beating on it (the handle is pretty no-frills) I've been looking at the bigger knives too. I'm about sold on the ESEE 4, but I did just buy the Pathfinder School bushcraft knife (Corporal Kelly edition)
@@EDCfanatics i just got the pathfinder knife for Christmas. If you're into outdoors type stuff Corporal's Corner is where I found out about the knife. He's entertaining and educational!
I’m strictly a fixed user and I like all their products and if I was to get a xancudo I’d get the fixed with the hole in the handle. However, with that said, I really want the pinhotti friction folder because I have a svord peasant and it’s a useful beater. I’d love to get the esee version.
I have the ESEE CAMP LORE, it’s very much like the Izula but is a little larger, love that knife. Don’t know if they still make it,it’s a real dandy knife
Point 1 - Nobody knows who you are or your credibility. Point 2 - it's not a "league" level offering, but it's a product built for working. It's a good value.

Love my S35VN Izula. Wish they'd make the Izula ii in S35VN

Got this one yesterday and was immediately impressed by the handle. It fits in the hand so well. The sheath is also good.
Good video. I don't have an Esee, but gonna get the 3 heard it's longer but slimmer. We will see.

Glad you enjoyed!!!
I got the original also but I made it into the length of the Izula II by buying the TKC extended scales for it and it’s awesome now.
Great blades with transferable lifetime warranty from seller to seller

The handle scales are micarta. They discolor or patina over time due to the oils from your hands.
Good to know! Thanks for your input!!

@@gregknight293 thanks for the suggestion!!
It’s thicker than the esee3. This fixed blade is thee knife that will likely not piss of cops or security

yea he mentioned about the marks 😂

I have an esee Candiru that came dull

Oh wow awesome! I definitely need to check out both the Zancudo and the pathfinder !!

That’s awesome! I just added it to my “ knife buy list “ haha

Have you tried other types of knives. I have owned a few neck knives. I honestly found that white rivers backpacker a better knife over all.
I've had mine for 2 years. I use it almost every day. Esee is the best !!!
Awesome ! Same here!
Good video, another knife I love is the CR2.5 from esee
I’ll add it to the list! Thanks!
I have the ESEE CAMP LORE, it’s very much like the Izula but is a little larger, love that knife. Don’t know if they still make it,it’s a real dandy knife
Great review although I fail to see the hype . Purchased twice and sold twice .really want to like this knife . Yours doesn’t even look used
It looks new.
I’ve had it for over a year when the video was made, it has held up extremely well!
That’s because it is. ESEE owners know what a well used and loved blade looks like. His is pristine. Absolutely no credibility to this review.
I agree to new looking to be used.
Looks like you never used it
Cause he doesn’t.
Too many posers on the internet.
This knife was barely handled. The handles are pristine. If you use it for a week or two, it turns dark grey, even if your hands a super clean
i own the same knife, mine is a number 22296
ты им вообще не пользовался?
Dude, please quit fidgeting your hands. You’re too busy flipping it around, spinning it. Can’t see the details because you won’t leave it alone.

*Poor, painted knife made of cheap steel for an exorbitant price. Handle scales get dirty "from looking" at them.*
