      Bushcraft Dave and you’re more than welcome Dave. I watched like 4-5 videos on it and not only was yours the most thorough,it also brought up very good points, like the Izula had jimping which I’m not a fan of and also the Eskabar having a broader blade. Nonetheless, thanks again for a very informative and well shot video!!

    I've had a BK14 rattling around in a drawer for years and years now and was recently looking for an EDC fixed blade without even thinking about the Eskabar. Unfortunately, the handle scales you showed are no longer available, so I took a pair of Izula scales and just barely had to trim them to get the fit right. I enjoyed your comparison video and went ahead and subscribed. Thanks for the content.

    Both very cool little beastly knives for sure. They come out to a very similar price after adding scales and belt clips. Both overpriced though. For a much more inexpensive yet equally as capable knife you can get the Schrade SCHF55 Frontier for around 35 to 40 bucks. 3.5" full tang 1095 high carbon and 3/16" thick. Comes with grivory handle scales and a belt carry system...nothing to add except maybe some hockey tape.

    I have the Izula and Izula 2, plus the BK-11. The Izzies are real sweet knives, btu the BK-11 came fairly blunt out of the box. It still isn't real sharp, even though I have spent plenty of time sharpening it. Often wondered if I just got a bad example.

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  5 лет назад

      It might be the sheath. Kabar used glass filled nylon in some of their sheaths and it dulls the edge. Try sharpening it and using it with a leather sheath for a while.

    These knives are excellent. I own them both and love them both. Sure neck carry is an option I tend to carry the Eskabar on my neck for work under my body armor and the Izula in my left pocket. Both great fixed blade small knife options. The Mora eldris is also awesome to have and very light weight and has a strong working sharp blade. I usually throw it in my cargo pants pocket.

    Good comparison. I'll just add something, with ESEE's warranty they have a 'no questions asked' warranty. Another words, you absolutely can abuse their knives, beat em into concrete, shoot em, whatever crazy thing you want to do...and they'll replace them, no questions asked. I think I read somewhere where someone from ESEE actually encouraged it in a post or something, I forget, certainly been some awesome video's of folks taking them to insane limits, still not getting them to break all the way (after just crazy amounts of abuse & torture) and the folks at ESEE actually asked for the tool to show it off haha. Even though Im not gonna go purposely be a dumbass with my ESEE's to just try and take advantage of their warranty, this is why they have the very best warranty in the business.

    • @BushcraftDave
      @BushcraftDave  6 лет назад +3

      You’re right I forgot to mention that. Kabar seems to be pretty good with their warranty barring abuse but nothing beats ESEEs no BS warranty. 👍 they’re my fav knife company. I honestly think the only way you break an ESEE is intentional abuse trying to break it. Have you seen the Preppers Bunker Outdoors? He put a Junglas II through hell and finally broke it intentionally.

    • @survivalofthefittest409
      @survivalofthefittest409 6 лет назад +2

      Lol yes that was the video I was referring to haha. ESEE actually put it in a case to show it off. From what I saw, the blade broke a little, but he couldn't get it to break all the way in 2. That video really cemented my faith in my ESEE knives. Great job on your feather's btw. Most folks I see do them in videos are either just in a hurry..or just cant do them right. Not alot of folks know about tilting the tip up and down either. Its cool that you pointed that out.

    • @survivalofthefittest409
      @survivalofthefittest409 6 лет назад +1

      I just watched that video again and saw where he took the bolder and dropped it on it to break all the way, that was my mistake. Still, went through an F-Ton of torture & abuse before hand. Stuff that none of us would actually need to do with a hard use knife. Its on my list for sure!
