The BK14 is the BK11 and the Esee Izula combined. Ethan Becker actually said himself that one day thus dude posted a photo of the BK11 blade welded to an Izula handled and every loved it and asked about one so Ethan Becker and whatever his name is from Esee got together and collaborated to make the B-K14 or "Eskabar" as it's known. So yes the handles will fit because it's identical. Facts!! Good video though!
I got the newer Beckers I took the finish off with paint remover, and I gun blued them so that the finishes smoother and if it ever wears off, it literally just takes seconds to put a new finish on it. That way the knife stays protected from rust.
I have the newer sheath for the BK-14. The external lock is nice for me because this is my EDC and I it take with me in and out of landscaping jobs that have me jumping into piles of branches or out of different machinery and vehicles. I basically ran some paracord through the eyelets of the sheath so I could belt carry and it worked nice as it hugs my body. I like the external lock because like I described my environments, it’s a nice lock to make sure my knife stays put especially when it gets snagged with branches and straps like the rest of my gear. But many people were saying to just remove it as the friction alone is strong enough. I tried carrying without the lock engaged and I feel like my sheath lost the friction retention over time and I don’t feel comfortable to wear it without the external lock down as for. I’m sure other are fine with it but that’s my experience with the sheath. Also I haven’t experienced any dulling so far from the new sheath. Currently looking at upgrade after market sheaths however, it’s a solid knife that deserves a complimenting sheath.
I recently purchased the bk14 and I love it. Unfortunately, Ka bar has discontinued the handle scales. I’ve been told the IZULA scales will fit but require a little filing in the middle. The thumb lock is kinda pointless and bulky but easy to remove. Fortunately, the Ka bar TDI clip does fit the sheath so I can clip it on my belt. Great knife, just wish it had better accessory options.
I recommend having a dedicated ferro rod striker insted of using your knife, alot of ferro rods come with a striker, there is no need to modify your knife, unless your just making youtube videos to look cool :) but my philosophy is a very practical one, i dont baton with my knives either because thats just for survival "simulation" RUclips videos imo, not practical in everyday bushcraft tasks. Get a small hatchet if you want to split wood, knives are not made to baton wood with because the edge of a knife is too fine and it will create micro fractures over time, believe it or not but knives have harmonics like a tuning fork, all medal does, so every time you hit it and baton with it it sends Shockwaves through the blade and can break overtime, just like taking a piece of wire and bending it back and forth until it breads, when you baton with your knife, the Shockwaves will create micro fractures and your knife will fail at some point, the objective is making your knife last as long as possible. In real world survival situations batoning is not necessary, using your knife to strike a ferro rod is not necessary, again your philosophy should be making your knife last you as long as possible, any knife expert will tell you the same thing, all that stuff is just for RUclips but not real world situations.
The BK14 handle is so much better than the BK11 which is the OG necker as it was originally made by Camillus back when they were American own & made in NY. The bottle opener & wire breaker can get annoying with large hands especially when using the knife hard, & for extended duration.
@@jacobsebastien3910 yeah bro. Infact they haven't been in stores for about 2 years. You cannot find a s35vn Izula or a Damascus one anywhere. There is a shortage of s35vn and esee has no plans of stocking or making anymore. So keep the one you have unless you want to sell it to me then I will take it haha
I was thinking of buying the slightly smaller version of the Izula (Candiru), going by your video here that should be a good starting place yeah? Looking to have a fixed blade on me, but in an office setting most days
I have the Izula and the BK14 and like the both but the Izula gets more use because it ride nicely in my pocket. I keep the striker that came with my ferro rod attached to it for striking, works better than any knife.
@@urjnlegend it is like one inch longer than Izula 2, but lighter, with a longer blade, more comfy and with better cutting performance. If You want something more interesting then Terävä Jääkäripuukko 85 is fantastic choice (superior steel, good price, superior ergos, smaller than Mora, etc)
Thanls, I didn’t know that glass reinforced sheath is dulling the blades! 👍

Great knife, just wish it had better accessory options.

我买了两把BK11,我太喜欢这刀了。

Bk 11 looks tough except the shit-tang.
Also, why would I hoard 3 almost identical knives when there's like 700 million other knife types out there?
I have the bk11 with micardi a scales peice of elastic sting from sheath loop it on knife where bottle opener is will keep knife secure in sheath
Hmmm, I've never had a problem throwing sparks off my coated Schrade's. Must be the coating they use.

use the thumb jimping to strike the ferro rod
You have to get the San mai BK11
Just get the BK11.
Better buy Mora Robust (also 1095 carbon ) for 15 $ and you will not go back to those :D
Nope, i will never carry it
Only issue is carrying, the handle is alot bigger for edc
