    ESEE 4HM in 3V with a 90 degree spine would be pretty ideal. I love my 4HM, but those 2 changes would bring it to the next level.

    Great collection of some very high quality knives. I recently picked up a Esee 4 clip point. The Clip blade is great for scraping fatwood shavings.

    Got a 3 that’s just a general carry hunting camp knife. Two 4s. I find myself using the four so much I had to buy another one, and that just sits in my camper picked up the five instead of the six due to the thickness I do not like overly long knives, but I feel like the five is perfect for chopping.

    My favorite is the 6 because of the balance

    Im glad you mentioned the Master Hunter, some Cold Steel knives are oddly overlooked.

    I have Utica Utk-N2 it’s like the izula 2. It just has a better everything. My thing with esee is the price. I got a mora Garberg for $55 on Amazon an as much as I love that knife I use the BPS adventurer more. I do love coldsteel I have the mini Pendleton hunter. But the master hunter is one I’ve always wanted. It’s just hard to find it in stock in 3v.
    I’ve been thinking about trying the esee 4hm just hard when you’re going off pictures. The warranty is really nothing I could imagine using. I guess it’s worthwhile if you have a $200 junglus and break it. Just in my 54 years I’ve broken a few knives. Never wanted another of the knife that broke. When something breaks usually somethings wrong why would I want another?
    Just my two cents

    Have the original 6, 4hm, and jg3.. looking to add a stainless xancudo soon for hunting. My favorite by far right now is the jg3.. wish they made it in stainless with g10 handles for hunting… such a great blade

    I want to love Esee more, but there's just better options out there. For US made, you got Architect, which have better steel, handles, sheathes, and almost limitless custom options. Even their 1095 is from Tops, which gives you differential heat treat, so better toughness and edge retention. Otherwise you can choose 3V or Magnacut, all with optimal heat treat from White River and Peter's Heat Treat. So you can essentially have your cake and eat it, and Esee becoming outclassed. Again, I want to love them, and i like the s35vn small blades, but otherwise it's just not it.

    Interesting. The only ESEE knives that caught my eye were RB3 and ESEE 5. However, I never pulled the trigger because they would just duplicate some of the knives I already own. Eventually, I acquired new, Made in USA, Libertariat Machette. Now that is an original blade from ESEE.

      ESEE is not interesting. In general, the handles are made in such a way that they get terribly dirty. A knife for people who don't like cleanliness.

    the thing that annoys me about esee knives is that great big stupid logo on the blade. it ruins the aesthetic of an otherwise nice knife

    i have esee junglas a esee 4 3d and a laser strike love them ...also both mora garbergs ss and carbon love them plus lotta other moras also buck 119 102 110 light love those to lol ....your opinion garberg vs your scandi esee? and buck 102 vs you esee 3 for hunting ? also if you havent tried the laser strike you need to its a awesome all around blade

      Garberg is a better all around bushcraft knife especially for the money. But I do love the compact ESEE RB3. I like the stainless ESEE 3 for deer field dressing. It’s a perfect size for my preference! I haven’t tried the laser strike. I like the hollow handle aspect of it.

    What about the Demko Freereign in Magnacut instead of the Cold Steel?

    • @outdooranalyst8697
      @outdooranalyst8697  2 месяца назад

      I have yet to try the Demko fixed blades. Their folders are fantastic. I think as long as the ergos are good and the rubber they use is tough/ holds up over time, the Demko in magnacut would be the winner for me.

    Seems like Esee has something going on with price, features and functionality.. you can always spend more but can you get it done better than Esee for less??

    • @griff7749
      @griff7749 28 дней назад

      @@HighRoad317 I would argue you could. Especially if you're including non US made options, then definitely. But even still, you can build out a US made Architect knife with better steel, handles, and sheath for a very similar price. Maybe slightly more, but not much at all.
