Bought a 2014 Limited Avalon in 2020 with 86k and absolutely love it. The car is quiet, fast, and almost furious. Between Eco, and Normal, the Sport Mode does make a difference. One of the cool features besides the lumbar is the thigh support on that trim. The only thing I wish was increased was the fuel tank capacity which gives your ~280 miles per trip.
I drive a front wheel, non AWD 2008 Avalon Touring sedan in Maine all winter. It’s my winter car- Maine’s roads are easily the worst I’ve ever driven. RI has bad roads but Maine has many more miles of dirt and gravel roads. Our roads are worse than any in Alaska or Iceland. Put good snow tires on this beast and you are good to go.

I live in Wisconsin. Would you recommend AWD with four cylinder or FWD with 6 cylinder? Ugh, I just wish Toyota offered AWD with the 6 cylinder. A naturally aspirated four cylinder just seems underpowered for this full size car.
This car doesn’t have a v6. And if you can’t tell by looking at the engine bay in the video. You need to do more research. The model he shows has the 4cylinder turbo. With a lot less power.
@@Captfuntastic you are misinformed, frd beats red, and awd beats all of them. So, much better in wet, dry, snow. Any good all-season tire set up is more than fine unless you live in Antartica

How will you convince me not to buy a Toyota Highlander at the same price as this sedan ... to know that the Highlander has three rows of seats and better floor clearance than this Avalon..
@@thejake8099 The issue is not about the type of the vehicle, but rather the price ... it is not possible to risk and pay a large sum for a sedan, especially after the spread of SUVs
@Mohammed Tariq I just purchased a 2021 Avalon Touring V6 w/Advance safety package for under $38K. In the process I traded in my 2012 Camry SE V6 which was much more fun to drive then any SUV. In comparison the Avalon is by far the most refined and comfortable to drive Toyota I have owned for the money. It is also a much better value for the money as compared to Lexus ES . I have purchased 4 generations of 4Runners and currently own a 2018 Limited. I have test driven a Highlander and by comparison it is a glorified minivan with SUV status. To get a comparably equipped Highlander to the Avalon Touring you are into the Platinum trim. In this sense you are not walking out the door for comparably equipped Highlander for less than $45K AWD no way, no how. At ~ $7K premium for Highlander you are getting more vehicle but also paying significantly more for it. In the process you are forgoing the crisper handling, fast acceleration, and superior ride quality, and quieter nature of the Avalon. If you truly need a vehicle for the snow more than twice a year or a house full of kids then purchase an AWD SUV. The current trend to buy SUVs continues to drive up their price including the increased fuel cost for these larger, heavier vehicles. By comparison this trend is making cars less expensive and a better value.
I.considered buying the base version of this in 2020 but the interior was too tight for me. However this looks like there is plenty of room. SUV’s have spoiled me apparently.
