Why is no-one talking about the PERFECT framing of Rick as he's suspended over the pit, the music swelling, unsure if his reckless pursuit of the jedi will lead to his ultimate downfall, and then gets shown mercy and thrown to the opposite platform

The only person who recognized that the only way to win that fight is to refuse to kill an innocent who never had a hope to win. Frankly, this should be prerequisite for getting a good ending.
I thought a dedicated spare feature would be a good idea like imagine having dialogue options to talk people down or being able to spare them or like singling out the commanding officer of a group of enemy's sparing them and getting them to back off could work if they had alpha animals leading packs but maybe I'm thinking to far into it.
Makes you wonder why the empire has these large gaps in the floor that a jedi can easily go over, but not a normal person. It's like they're asking for trouble.

Rick blinked again. “You-you have a fight with the Empire? You got a fight with me!” The Jedi shook his head sadly. “I wish your bravery served a better purpose than being a puppet of the Empire. Maybe one day you’ll see.” Rick lowered in baton in confusion. “See what?” “The corruption,” the Jedi replied, finally turning around and hooking his laser sword to his belt. “The Empire’s tightening its grip on the galaxy. They don’t care about how many lives they sacrifice to fill their hunger of power.” Rick shook his head. “You’re one to talk!” he retorted. “The Jedi tried to assassinate the Emperor! You’re a traitor!” “I was a padawan when Order 66 came through,” the Jedi sighed. “Just a kid. And yet your Emperor was the one who ordered my clone brothers to gun me and my master down in cold blood.” “J-jedi lies,” Rick said, swallowing. “I’m not the one lying to you,” the Jedi replied sadly. “If you want the truth, you can find it.” With that, he began to walk away again. Rick stood there, breathing heavily. The Emperor ordered the Jedi kids killed? Involuntarily, he thought about his six-month-old son on Raxus. Surely the Emperor wouldn’t kill *children*- “Wait!” Rick called out. The Jedi stopped and looked at him. “How… how do I know you’re telling the truth?” Rick demanded. “Trust the Force,” the Jedi called back. “If you listen, it will show you.” “But I’m not a Jedi,” Rick protested. The Jedi smiled. “You don’t have to be. See you later, Rick.” With that, the Jedi walked away. Rick stood speechless for a long time before he sat down, speechless. He had been taught that Jedi were ruthless murders that used their abilities to benefit only themselves. Yet had one just shown him… mercy? Exhaling tiredly from exhaustion and confusion, he tore his helmet off his head. For a while, he stared into the visor, his reflected eyes staring back at him. As Rick was spared he met a girl, had a son. He told his son about his experience as a technician and this inspired the son to be like his dad and he got a job working on Star killer base and that is the story of Matt the Radar Technician.
It’s funny people think the canon ending is Cal beats Rick but in reality Rick beats cal, gets a promotion from door technician to inquisitor door technician, single handedly defeats all the inquisitors, beats Vader, overthrows palpatine and becomes Rick the emperor door technician and brings peace security and freedom to his new empires doors
Actually, that was his twin brother, Mick the door destroyer. After mick the door destroyer destroys the doors, he comes and fixes them but it is already after you have left the area.
If I were a Respawn Dev and saw this video, I’d create an update in which Rick the Door Technician will show up later in another scenario in which you can spare him, and if you do that, shows up again, so on and so forth… until he appears after the “final boss” as a secret final boss… but it turns out he is greater than force sensitive, he is Door Sensitive… every door that has appeared in the game is now at his beck and call… do not underestimate the power of the Door Side.

rick, being the only stormtrooper to actually fight a jedi and survive, would go on to be a grizzled veteran, and command his own platoon of ruthless scout troopers that was highly skilled in close combat against jedi. until he eventually goes MIA during the battle of jakku, never to be heard of again.
That was truly a fight, and one that he survived and the holovids will prove that he threw down with a jedi. He can tell his grand kids about that. He probably got a promotion to garrison commander so gets to still go home to his kids. You really did that man a solid.
by hanging him off the cliff, cal showed he could easily kill him but true to his jedi way spares the door technician whom did not understand his mercy at a time and told to come back and fight, only years later would he understand the kindness of his gesture and how lucky he was to survive.
How did you manage this? Rick the door technician is one of the hardest boss i've ever fought in any game so far. His power is so immense it could shatter minds and break reality!

You see, THIS is what Star Wars is about. It's about those goofy little moments with some genuine sincerity behind them. Like, sure dude. Go ahead and try to tango with a space wizard with zero proper training. You're lucky he has a moral code.
Star Wars canon has Rick surviving and joining the rebellion. He became door technician on the rebel flagship Home One, where he witnessed the battle of Endor. After the war, Rick became dissolutions with the ineffective governance of the New Republic and left to find his fame and fortune in the outer rim. Little is known of what happened to Rick the Door Technician until a journal was found in the wreckage of the infamous pirate Gorn Shards’ ship. After seeing a video of cal just force grabbing rick and just stabbing him with a lightsaber i am always expecting it for some reason and it makes me laugh everytime
Rick is mad at Cal because he's been at every location that Cal's been and watched Cal break many doors only for Rick to have to fix them. Now Rick has the opportunity for revenge for all the broken doors. Rick screams, "You will not break another door!" and charges but all Cal hears is the gutteral scream of an angry door technician. "He will finally respect my hard work," Rick thinks as he swings his stun staff at Cal.
Unfortunately for poor Rick I was in Blaster stance and shot him before I realized he wasn't a threat. I felt so bad. But I made him a nice memorial. Did you know he always used to say "Death is just another door through which we all pass." ? RIP, Rick, the Door Technician
I remember finally making it throught the fight in the hanger before the elevator in grandmaster. 1hp remaining hopping i'd find a place to heal before another encounter. I see this dude and with the boss health bar and the music I thought I was done for. I panick and just throw my lightsaber and one shot him. Total emotional roller-coaster
I struggled through that hanger fight, and had to turn down the difficulty. I even then barely got through - limping past and then all of a sudden this new boss shows up. Imagine my relief when he turns out to be a one-shot kill. Cheeky developers.
Dude gets slammed into the ground and thrown across the room 3 concecutive times by a literal telekentic space wizzard with a sword that can cut through reinforced steel. First reaction when he sees him leaving: "COME BACK HERE AND FIGHT!! 😠" Rick is the kind of worker that keeps the business going.
Couple things: 1) I swore that this was photoshopped the first time I saw it. Turns out it's legit. His name IS Rick, and he IS a door technician. 2) There are How-To guides on beating Rick the Door Technician, because he's apparently TOO HARD for some people to defeat.
Little did we know this small act of mercy set into stone a series of events where the door technician is the protagonist of his own story, solving puzzles, fighting daunting opponents and even gaining new tech along the way to compensate for his lack of force sensitivity... All leading up to the grand finale, his final showdown with the Jedi who chucked him across the bridge that fateful day.
You're a storm trooper, your job is making sure the doors work, you see a guy with the weapon of a jedi and think "I'm taking him *DOWN*." He's got the self preservation instincta of a lemming but you have to admire his determination
Rick deserves the same fan treatment as Boba Fett: Canonized for the total badass he is, and allowed to experience adventures beyond this point of his life!

Actually, that was his twin brother, Mick the door destroyer. After mick the door destroyer destroys the doors, he comes and fixes them but it is already after you have left the area.

If I were a Respawn Dev and saw this video, I’d create an update in which Rick the Door Technician will show up later in another scenario in which you can spare him, and if you do that, shows up again, so on and so forth… until he appears after the “final boss” as a secret final boss… but it turns out he is greater than force sensitive, he is Door Sensitive… every door that has appeared in the game is now at his beck and call… do not underestimate the power of the Door Side.
Also he has the power to control the Corridor Between Worlds.

That was truly a fight, and one that he survived and the holovids will prove that he threw down with a jedi. He can tell his grand kids about that. He probably got a promotion to garrison commander so gets to still go home to his kids. You really did that man a solid.

I spared him too, walked in, realized it said “door technician” and just walked on past. Let bro keep workin on his doors
Rick is mad at Cal because he's been at every location that Cal's been and watched Cal break many doors only for Rick to have to fix them. Now Rick has the opportunity for revenge for all the broken doors. Rick screams, "You will not break another door!" and charges but all Cal hears is the gutteral scream of an angry door technician. "He will finally respect my hard work," Rick thinks as he swings his stun staff at Cal.
"YOU WON'T GET AWAY SO EASY NEXT TIME!! YOU'LL SEE, THEY'LL ALL SEE"
Unfortunately for poor Rick I was in Blaster stance and shot him before I realized he wasn't a threat. I felt so bad. But I made him a nice memorial. Did you know he always used to say "Death is just another door through which we all pass." ? RIP, Rick, the Door Technician

I remember finally making it throught the fight in the hanger before the elevator in grandmaster. 1hp remaining hopping i'd find a place to heal before another encounter. I see this dude and with the boss health bar and the music I thought I was done for. I panick and just throw my lightsaber and one shot him. Total emotional roller-coaster
I struggled through that hanger fight, and had to turn down the difficulty. I even then barely got through - limping past and then all of a sudden this new boss shows up. Imagine my relief when he turns out to be a one-shot kill. Cheeky developers.

Couple things:
1) I swore that this was photoshopped the first time I saw it. Turns out it's legit. His name IS Rick, and he IS a door technician.
2) There are How-To guides on beating Rick the Door Technician, because he's apparently TOO HARD for some people to defeat.

Little did we know this small act of mercy set into stone a series of events where the door technician is the protagonist of his own story, solving puzzles, fighting daunting opponents and even gaining new tech along the way to compensate for his lack of force sensitivity... All leading up to the grand finale, his final showdown with the Jedi who chucked him across the bridge that fateful day.
You're a storm trooper, your job is making sure the doors work, you see a guy with the weapon of a jedi and think "I'm taking him *DOWN*."
He's got the self preservation instincta of a lemming but you have to admire his determination
