The people in the Copyright Claims Department deserve lumps of coal in their stockings every Christmas for the rest of their lives, for keeping the review of this most amazing Christmas film from us for so long.
It's gotten completely out of control. Almost everybody I'm subbed has had videos delayed for weeks or de-monitized because of it. There even was a video swimming around on reddit awhile ago about a woman who got a copyright claim because she played Moonlight Sonata on her piano and got a copyright claim from a copyright troll in France who had claimed the song as their own. It's nuts. YT's monopoly on english-language video hosting needs to end.
Anytime you bring money into the equation it's going to complicate things to no end. I miss the old days of RUclips before Google bought them out. That's when the death spiral started. This platform is heavily censored too and censorship is one thing I'm totally against.
Man, this movie is a lot deeper than you'd expect something called "Christmas Evil" to be. The guy is mentally unwell, but ultimately he is trying to do good for the kids in his Santa fixation. The world which treats him like dirt rejects and ridicules him and drives him over the edge completely, and it makes you feel for him. Also, that ending is great and reminds me at least of the Twilight Zone episode "Night of the Meek". Especially with a down on his luck guy actually becoming Santa (seemingly so here, at least). Wondering if it had any influence on this. What an underrated thriller. Definitely putting this on next Christmas.
I use to have the Santa doll he had hanging on the wall. His face would light up and play a garbled version of Wish You A Merry Christmas. It was an older vintage toy that in hindsight looked potentially cursed.
Thank goodness they finally released this from Copyright Purgatory! As far as Christmas exploitation movies go, I definitely prefer this eerie, slow-burn entry to the more lurid "Silent Night, Deadly Night." You get an A+, Brad.
I think this avoided the overly zealous outrage simply because it wasn’t a more mainstream company distributing it like what was the case with Silent Night Deadly Night.
No joke, but as a Canadian all too familiar with long winters, it's actually impressive how great those torn up bags look and fall. It actually looks like real snow.
This is one of my favorite holiday films. It's a great psychological profile film about a man who tries as long as possible to hold onto his innocence.
I usually put new videos from my subscription list in my watch later and I'll get to them within a couple days. Not this time. This time I'm watching it right away. Simon Whistler can wait
Fun review, great movie, but I'm curious about @7:05-7:10. Where's the audio?? Did you got into copyright trouble with the people who made Fun in Balloon Land, too?
I fucking love you Brad. You were and always will be the best person from channel awesome/that guy with the glasses. I think you are the funniest and most entertaining. I will watch ANY cinema snob video
It's nice he just remained normal and entertaining surprised he doesn't have as much baggage either. I started watching his newer stuff and it's as entertaining as i remember
Harry's brother joined law enforcement shortly after this experience where he was involved in a case with a murderous hitchhiker at which point he transferred to a small town and eaten by the blob
I still think the creepiest santa scenes in all of cinema goes to the 'Child POV Christmas' dream sequences in _The City of Lost Children_ (1995?) '@_@' The 'Lynch mob out for Santa' scenes in this film are pretty friggin awesome tho XD
This is an amazing movie... And Yeh. I do like to believe he has become Santa too. It's a beautiful ending, for a wonderful character. He is the spirit of Christmas.
What I find interesting is that the story of the main character is similar to Joaquin Phoenix’s the Joker. The only difference being that it takes on Christmas and this guy had a bit more people he was pseudo-familiar with🤔 I honestly found it fascinating and wouldn’t mind checking it out in real life just because of that parrallel😁
Tubi is the gift that keeps on giving. It has one of my bat shit crazy horror films, The Sentinel. I like pairing that one with The Legacy. The 70s and early 80s knew how to make bat shit horror. Both The Sentinel and The Legacy have all star line up with most being future superstars.
If you cut out certain scenes this could pass as a wholesome christmas movie lmao, especially for it's aesthetic and the thought put into the christmas decorations etc
The voice, the kid saying they wanted a lifetime subscription to penthouse magazine... that sounded an awful lot like the dubbed voice of Bob from The House by the Cemetery. Could be.
I remember when you talked about this movie years ago in that episode of The Big Box. I actually caught the opening of this movie in early 2010s when TCM showed it on late night. 6:23- 1981 in Film callback! 7:05- I guess you muted the Fun In Balloon Land commentary, because hearing it would make you jump out a window before you'd get tempted to fucking a balloon. 9:38- Yeah, I also love the Home Improvement Christmas episodes. 11:50- In speaking of a killer Santa behind the wheel of a car, this movie is already better than the 1995 shot-on-shitteo movie, Satan Claus. 13:19- Which version: theatrical or the "Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone" cut? 16:56- And Disney would later use this shot in The Santa Clause. 19:01- I still like Halloween Kills BTW. 20:20- One of the best episodes of The Twilight Zone ever.
I noticed the audio cut out for a bit around the 7 minute mark. Was that the part someone tried to copyright claim? And if so, what was the original audio playing?

It’s also a film that’s in the public domain, making the claim total bullshit.
I was NOT expecting a movie titled "Christmas Evil" to be this good.
Yeah!
I always seemed to mix this movie up with 'Black Christmas' from 1974
I believed Brad when he said that this ending was crazy but… Holy shit I still wasn’t expecting that.
For some reason, him driving off into the moon was very heartwarming.
Finally, this review is out of Copyright Claim Hell. And good thing too, because this movie is one of my favorite films to watch on Christmas.
I can respect any grown man who loves the Christmas Story so much that he refuses to put away the pink bunny outfit.

What an underrated thriller. Definitely putting this on next Christmas.
the guy who wrote this said he thought of this film as being like Frankenstein.
I start to feel bad for him and then I remember that the catalyst for all of this was seeing mommy and daddy role-playing.
I use to have the Santa doll he had hanging on the wall. His face would light up and play a garbled version of Wish You A Merry Christmas. It was an older vintage toy that in hindsight looked potentially cursed.
"Even worse, he could be in a bunny suit"
You're right, he could be Bruce Willis in North.
I really like this movie, it has a decent psychological thriller vibe.
Thank goodness they finally released this from Copyright Purgatory! As far as Christmas exploitation movies go, I definitely prefer this eerie, slow-burn entry to the more lurid "Silent Night, Deadly Night." You get an A+, Brad.
Finally!! I’ve been waiting to see a Christmas Evil review since Brad mentioned it on 80’s Dan!!
“But he was naughty this year so HIS THROAT IS SLIT WITH A STAR!”
"This is a movie that keeps on delivering" over the Santa lineup. Me = dead.
I remember that Energizer add. Once again, the Snob makes me feel my age.
It’s strange this one got hit, since it’s a public domain film.. it’s one of my favorite holiday horror films.
I think this avoided the overly zealous outrage simply because it wasn’t a more mainstream company distributing it like what was the case with Silent Night Deadly Night.
It needs a post credit scene where Harry's van crashes into the cars from Repo Man and Grease.
Thank you for the Ben Franklin commercials. Really put me in the time period
I love when he uses commercials from the time the film came out.
No joke, but as a Canadian all too familiar with long winters, it's actually impressive how great those torn up bags look and fall. It actually looks like real snow.
9:55 Even after all these years, that still makes me laugh.
Also, "Clearly" Ridley Scott ripped the ending off for Thelma & Louis.
This is one of my favorite holiday films. It's a great psychological profile film about a man who tries as long as possible to hold onto his innocence.
Another fact: Brandon Maggart is actually Fiona Apple's dad
7:05 That's weird. What's with the silence here? Was there originally audio that had to be removed?
I love this movie such a time capsule of the time.
My favorite snob episode ever! I love this film and you're right to applause the crazy ending. Thanks Brad!
It's been a long time since a movie's ending made my jaw drop
10:25 "Always breaking out his Albert Finney impression."
Lmfao!
What an Ending to a Christmas Classic, A Psychotic Break for The Holiday Cheer We All Crave this Time of Year
'Christmas Evil' is genuinely one of the best horror films ever made.
One of the best Christmas films ever made.
@@eleanore8709 One of the best films ever made.
Not a very good title though.
Glad I finally got to watch this review. Now I know what movie I'll be watching next Christmas.
Finally they were able to release their grip and you can post it
I usually put new videos from my subscription list in my watch later and I'll get to them within a couple days. Not this time. This time I'm watching it right away. Simon Whistler can wait
The thumbnail promised me a clean shaven Brad.
Let us not forget that Raymond Barry was also the police lieutenant in The Ref.
Love this channel!
Fun review, great movie, but I'm curious about @7:05-7:10. Where's the audio?? Did you got into copyright trouble with the people who made Fun in Balloon Land, too?

I had a VHS of this under the Terror in Toyland title it barely played but I found it unique
8:40 Is that Bob from The House by the Cemetery?
Ah yes, 1947. When everyone was good and traumatized by a recent world war.
200 Hallmark Movies should be the next holiday slasher movie where Dean Cain stalks his way thru all the rom-coms we grew up with.
Did Santa just hit that guy with a blackjack? This is a good movie!
I love how this Santa came off as a legitimately nice and wholesome guy when he was dealing with people he considered nice
Harry's brother joined law enforcement shortly after this experience where he was involved in a case with a murderous hitchhiker at which point he transferred to a small town and eaten by the blob
0:39 judging by the opening, I’d also say this took inspiration from ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus’.
I bet Bud Cort (Of 1971's Harold & Maude fame) would *crush* a role like this!
Not imaginary reindeer. He just named each cylinder of that V8 engine.
I still think the creepiest santa scenes in all of cinema goes to the 'Child POV Christmas' dream sequences in _The City of Lost Children_ (1995?) '@_@'
The 'Lynch mob out for Santa' scenes in this film are pretty friggin awesome tho XD
This is an amazing movie... And Yeh. I do like to believe he has become Santa too.
It's a beautiful ending, for a wonderful character.
He is the spirit of Christmas.
this Christmas review is finally free....on January 13th no less and it's not even Friday
The make-up on this man is way too good.
What I find interesting is that the story of the main character is similar to Joaquin Phoenix’s the Joker. 1:50, THAT IS A THING RIGHT NOW??
If you cut out certain scenes this could pass as a wholesome christmas movie lmao, especially for it's aesthetic and the thought put into the christmas decorations etc
"I choose to believe....' no truer words have ever been spoken. We decide our fantasies and beliefs.
I remember shopping at Ben Franklin stores when I was a kid…..
I want 19:55 - 19:57 on loop for 24 hours
Great review. I love your videos.
That is awesome.
The voice, the kid saying they wanted a lifetime subscription to penthouse magazine... that sounded an awful lot like the dubbed voice of Bob from The House by the Cemetery. Could be.
It’s back baby!!!!
I'm still upset that the Snob forgot this movie in his "1980 in Film" video.
is he REALLY watching fun in balloon land!?
If you are a Snob fan then watch this video NOW, before youtube makes him take it down again.🥺
13:39 Jeez did Fulci direct this scene!
Aka The Joker Christmas special
Awesome
Brad, I hope to Santa Christ those chocolate Easter eggs are ACTUALLY chocolate.
Tubitv gets a lot of free advertisement on Brad’s videos.
Is it weird that this makes me think of the Santa Claus version of “Joker?”
Christmas Evil in January nice Brad
So this movie is actually good? Awesome.
Brad, no mention of fun trivia that Brandon maggart is Fiona apples dad?? I don’t know if I missed it.
17:20 harry works for eddie guerrero?
Santa the Peeping Tom Neckbeard.
This is great
Fun fact: like Krampus, Santa kidnaps bad kids
welcome back Chrismas Evil
I always remember seeing this in the video store with Santa with the axe.
Great flick
I love old Christmas Horror Movies.

Oh, jeez, I just realized Harry/Santa was the eldest brother on Showtime’s “Brothers” back in the ‘80s.
FINALLY.
I noticed the audio cut out for a bit around the 7 minute mark. Was that the part someone tried to copyright claim? And if so, what was the original audio playing?
Holy shit, I am printing and framing that lineup shot.
19:38 you’d think he’d be fine with just mowing them down
But now comes the real question: When are you reviewing Santa's Slay!?
looks really good and yes i do believe the main killer has the powers of santa claus well atleast that is what i want to believe
Do you ever think about redoing some of the older snob videos
Last time I came this early to a YT video it was the Snob also
The framed picture of the girl in the blue dress with white collar? 90% sure I had the exact same dress when I was about her age.....
17:27 “found the right ____ “; what was that last word?
I watch this masterpiece every year during Christmas.
maybe the Mothers in Milwaukee had very good taste in thrillers movies?
this is one i've never seen before
I enjoyed this review!
Dead Meat talked about this too!
